DH gets mad at me b/c I have issues about leaving the girls. I know they will be fine, but I just have issues. I did however have a teenager come over for about two hours one night when DH and I went to his promotion congratulations event. That was a BIG thing for me.

Have a Fabulous time!!!!

It took forever for me to let my girls be with anybody....I bet some people thought we were going to ask for a background check!! :lmao: Now my girls are old enough to be left by themselves......heart attack city!!

When one life enters, another exits.

This is not my style, but you all should know why I'm not on for the rest of the week. Family friends (daughter is in Matt's class) Rusty died last night. He was working on the treadmill and had a massive heart attack. 47. In their home. Leaves a wife and three small children - all home, all witnessed their father's death. Pray for the survivors. They need it.

Prayers are being said, right now! I'm so sorry! :grouphug: to all!

You did indeed read pecan pie. It's my most favorite pie to make because it's so simple! I got the recipe from my good friend, and it is to die for! She claims that her BIL married into the family simply to be able to have this pie. It is REALLY good! I won't have a slice for you, but I'll talk someone into it! If you want the recipe, let me know. I'm happy to share.

OMG - ME ME ME ME!

Pecan Pie is my absolute favorite - oh - maybe not - I wonder how many weight watchers points one pie is!!

I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering where you were.

Time travellers wife is a GREAT book - I think I may read it again in a few years... it had be hooked completely :)

Glad you liked the card - funny story behind that now - I ordered 35 copies yesterday morning and today got home from work to find a very thin envelope on the mat... thought uh-oh did I write 3 not 35... nope they sent me someone else's photos! Just two, a cake and a family snap... that poor guy got 35 copies of our thank you card!! Called the company to ask them to resend but he called first so they've already dispatched the right envelope to me - but they also gave me 20 free print credits for the inconvenience :)

Well, at least they made up for their mistake. Now, you can send a copy to all your DDA friends! :rotfl:

For you, and anyone else who likes to read, I've just started reading books by Jodi Piccoult, and she is fabulous! I'd read her book "My Sister's Keeper" a couple of years ago and found it riveting, but am just getting around now to pick up some of her other things. I read her book, "The Pact", in about 3 days - while at WDW! That tells you how good it was. :teeth:

I know, and it was such a good b'day. In fact, Ben and I were on the phone when it happened. They live in Jackson, MS which is about 8-10 hours from here. John hopefully is going with me. My brother is flying us down. I'll probably go on Thursday for a Friday funeral, but I don't know what all extra will be involved with a suicide. He and my SIL are the kids' godparents, and they're the ones taking us to the beach for the kids' birthday.

My mom is going down tomorrow early to help my brother. Unfortunately my Dad is in Puerto Rico on business and can't get back. I hope John can go. Otherwise it will just be me and my mom for my brother (he's my only sibling).

Thanks for the prayers. My head is reeling.

Just thought I would send you even more :grouphug: :grouphug:  !! I know that you could all use them. I pray that John is able to go with you as I know how much his support would mean.

Marti, I will definitely keep them (and you) in my prayers. Sometimes I wish we could understand why things happen the way they do. :grouphug:

That is what I am also hoping. So far there hasn't been an offer for him to move back in. We will see :confused3

They will definitely be in my prayers. What a terrible thing that they had to be there for all of it. :guilty:

I have her most recent one sitting on my bookcase and I will read it next week - daren't pick it up yet I have studying to do

Jennifer - how were the exams?

Um.... they're finished

No, they were all right. The first one was REALLY hard, long, detailed, etc. The second was not bad at all. I won't know my grades for a while, but I had figured out ahead of time what I needed to pass each class. I got at least that many on each, so I'm done with nursing classes! Well, at least for this school and this degree :rotfl:

It was really hard to stay focused this time though.

Thanks for asking, and thanks everyone for cheering me on! It's nice to be finished (at least with class and tests) :teeth:

Now if I could just get my role transition schedule sorted out, which should happen tonight, I'll really be in business! :goodvibes

Marti -- I saw this happen to another family -- I sat with the son while the paramedics worked on his dad. I was traumatized (this was my boss's husband, whom I had known for over 17 years) and I wasn't even a member of the family. The son ended up in rehab. I will say many prayers for this family and their friends. They are going to need strong shoulders to lean on for a very long time.

Good morning DDA! I hope everyone has sun, and I hope your snow is melting because ours isn't and it's still cold. :rolleyes2

I'm off to take my nursing finals! I'm sooooo not prepared, but I should still pass the classes, which is all I care about at this point. I'm so ready to be done! I didn't study except for like an hour though last night because there's some garbage to sort through with my in-law's and this house purchase. I would think the details aren't really any of their business, but what do I know :confused3 (ooh, THIS is where this guy :rolleyes2 belongs!) So naturally, that's taking a toll on Kyle and I as well, as.... well, you know how men can be with their moms. We've discussed it enough, so I KNOW you know.

Oh, well. Everyone have a great day, please! :goodvibes

If they're over now, I hope everything went well. If not, then I hope they go well. :wizard:

 You're almost finished!!
