Glad to hear Rees is doing better - how are you doing? I understand about focusing on the kids and DH - but don't forget about yourself in that mix!

We just got home. He did very well. The new meds seem to be really helping. He's resting and watching Disney channel right now. We go Thursday to see the Pediatric specialist to determine if he is or isn't on the Autism spectrum. He's still having a tough time, but is better. I'm not around much as I'm trying to focus on the kids and DH.

So glad to hear that he is doing well, Denise! Thank you for the update, and please, keep taking care of YOU too! :goodvibes

Yay for Rees!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 I'm so glad to hear that he is doing better. Keep us posted on how everything is going. Take care of you.

Denise. I'm glad that the new meds seem to be working. That has to be a relief. Did he have the nose surgery? How are the other kids? Most importantly, how are you? I miss your daily updates. I even thought about you the other day when I saw great party favors. You and your family have touched my heart.

Deb

Hooray for Amy, Kevin, Alyssa, and Matthew!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Boys are so much fun! I hope that everything else looked good at the ultrasound. Now, you need to let us know if you are going to do the traditional "blue" theme, or what. I've got a cupboard full of receiving blankets that I've made, and I need to find the perfect one for Matthew Bryant!

Now, if only Dawn would update us on how she's doing.

During my ultrasound, she did notice my placenta is low, so I have to have another ultrasound in 10 weeks. There's a 95% chance it will move up, but if it doesn't, I have to have a c-section. Everything else was fine! :goodvibes

Now, we really have to house-hunt, once we get this house termite-free and ready to sell. Though Alyssa has a lot of pink, our "theme" has always been Disney. I'm sure we'll have lots of yellow and blue for Matthew, but Disney always prevails. :tink:

Dawn (Bengalbelle) is doing well. We email 3-4 times a week...she's just really trying to be productive around the house, etc. so she's fallen behind on the thread. Her morning sickness comes and goes, but overall, she feels her energy is on the upswing. And all visits to the doctor have been positive too. :sunny:

I can't believe it - I guessed right! That will be $20 please!

And of course you know how I feel about the name Matthew!!!!!!!

Congratulations !!

We didn't wager $20! I guess I have to stomach a Dole Whip now, though! :teeth:

Amy :)

Thanks for all the congratulations, everyone! You all are the BEST! :grouphug:

Even though, it's a very exciting day, I was feeling a little down, because my sister left after the ultrasound. Thanks for keeping me company during Alyssa's nap. :sunny:

I'll "see" you all later tonight.
Amy :)

Hi again!

I am so glad to have these past few days behind us. The funeral was OK (or as OK as a funeral can be) but it is always stressful to get the whole family together. My MIL doesn't talk to her sister so to put the two of them in a room together for a few days is awful (I can't believe they couldn't bury the hatchet for 5 lousy days for the sake of their father :headache: )

Kyle handled it pretty well. When it was all over and they gave the family a few minutes alone with Opa before the closed the casket we aksed him if he wanted to say goodbye to Opa one last time and he waved to him and said "I love you!" Oma about lost it at that point

Today would have been his 80th birthday so we all went to the cemetary to bring flowers and sing happy birthday to him. It was very sad, but Oma seems to be handling it OK so far. We'll see how she does in the coming weeks...

Kyle started to get sick towards the end of the day on Saturday and we finally had to put him back in diapers for a day since there was quite a mess ;) He is back in his pull ups for a couple of days, but he still doesn't feel well. He is actually in his crib asleep right now and he only sleeps at nap time when he is sick

Anyway, I tried to skim through the last 20 pages or so, but I may have missed something.

Hope everyone else is doing OK!

Kristin

Denise-

So glad to "see" you!! Hope Rees heals quickly...the poor guy deserves a break!! You all are in my thoughts and prayers!!

Congratulations Kevin & Amy!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

YAY!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

So I'm still sending  and pixiedust: to everyone.

So I'm reading along and see it says Matthew in Amy and Kevin's signature and then I read about them announcing it. I was like well hello it was already there, you people aren't very observant :duck: , but I forgot that the signature was changed later. Congrats to Kevin, Amy and Alyssa. :goodvibes

That's what a lack of sleep does to you. I'm doing alright. Just aren't getting near enough sleep. I worked 56 hours between Wednesday of last week and Monday. Plus I had 10 hours of Girl Scout activities on Saturday. We had a Thinking Day celebration with our service unit. On Thinking Day you think about the world and learn about other countries. We also had a troop cookie booth. We sold 78 boxes of cookies in 3 hours. I was very happy with that. We have had the largest booth sale so far this year. It was also shorter than most of the other booths.

We also have a cookie booth tommorrow instead of a troop meeting. So I don't have a meeting to plan and run. Hooray :hyper:

Congratulations to all of the Grandma's to be.

I'm glad Reese's surgery went well.

I hope everyone's lives continue to improve.

Becky

So glad to hear that Rees' surgery went well. Hopefully, things will start to get better, soon. I second what everyone else has already said, "Take care of yourself, too!" I know you will, but we are all concerned about you and the kids. Let us know if there's anything we can do long distance for you!

Kristin - I'm glad to hear that the funeral was ok. Sounds like Kyle handled it quite well. I'm so sorry that he is sick. I feel your pain. There's been a lot of that around here, as well. pixiedust: to make him feel better soon.

Becky - Sounds like you are working a lot these days! Please take care of yourself! Your cookie booth sounds like a fun thing! I ordered some cookies and they should be delivered soon. Too bad I won't be able to eat any of them. I made sure not to order the kind I like so I won't be tempted. I did order DH a couple of boxes of the Peanut Butter ones he likes so much, and then I ordered some for the kids as well.

On cookie booth sales....I'll be so glad when they are over!! My girls are both scouts with 3 booth sales a piece. Their daddy gets to go to these as when daddys are there the cookies sell better. The Cadets sold over 900 in their second booth sale!! The Juniors are a bit slower but that is also the difference in places where the booths are....lower vs. higher income.

Take care of yourself...find more hours for yourself...we don't need you getting sick Becky!!

Katie just came skipping through the door. Apparently, 3 students were chosen out of each grade level to perform their stories in front of the whole school. Katie was one of the 3 chosen from the 3rd grade. She is so excited! This has done so much to boost her self-esteem! Thanks for all your pixie dust and good wishes! I feel like I've been through the whole competition myself. I just worry so much that she'll do well, and that people will like her, etc., etc. Normal "mom" worries. Now, on to the school wide competition! We don't know when it will be, so she has to keep practicing.

Good morning Deb. I hope warmer weather comes your way!

Clare -- something I've been wondering about. I keep hearing that vacation time is more liberal in Europe. You don't have to be specific about yours, but what is the typical vacation time in England? Randy was just negotiating for time at his new job, and I started wondering what the norm is in other countries.

In SA which is similar to EU we got a minimum of 15 work days plus 12 sick days and much more public holidays than we do here.
I get 18 days here which is what I have gotten since my 4th year at the co and next year at 10 years service I get 2 more, I ve had to work 6 years to get an extra 2 days.
