Ok guys, I can finally write about our weekend with our friends.
We left Friday morning VERY early. Steffy will tell you, I do not do mornings.
I think I even fell asleep which is sometimes hard because DH tends to get irritated while driving

Then he had gotten some directions that might cut about an hour off our time. He gets to an intersection and says "I left the map and directions at home but I think I turn here"
Well, it ended up that we saved about 45 minutes. Only because a logging truck, two tractor trailers, and of course, the driver who had to brake for everything

got in front of us.
All weekend it tried to snow, off and on. No accumulation, but it looked pretty coming down. On Sunday we went for a walk with the dogs. It was sunny and they ran up and back, even going to the creek for a drink and a little dip. That meant drying off before they came inside so we could brush them. I was also able to spend some time with Calie, who now comes up right away and demands to be held and brushed. She really purrs now. At night, she is at the window making sure that her little bed warmer is heating up in the microwave
Got some good recipes, and like always, DH made one meal. This time it was Corned Beef and cabbage which he actually started the corned beef from a good brisket.
Over ten-twelve years ago our friends just up and left Pa, their jobs and bought the place where they live. Until recently they used the downstairs as a B&B and hunting lodge. So she did all the cooking. Insurance just got to be too high, so now they are trying to sell the place. Now they do a lot of craft shows, and they both work part-time.
Since the last time that we had gone down, they now have two chickens, a rooster and two guinea hens. I was not able to get any pictures. The birds are just constantly on the move. Such a racket the guinea hens make especially when they lay their eggs. The eggs are good, the guinea eggs are smaller but very bright yellow in color.
Coming home yesterday we made it in 5 hours instead of 6. That made DH very happy. I always hate the coming home part.
