That is so cool!! We were filmed when we lived on Long Island as part of television show In A Fix. Its a home repair show that was on HGTV for a while, but our segment never aired. Once you've found out that you will be on, ask them to see if you can have a tape of ALL of your footage, not just the stuff that aired. It'll be fun to look back when the kids are older and see how they've grown!

Which made me think actually, a lot of people talk about going to work or DISing while at work, but I don't think I have any idea what most of you do! Anyone want to share?

I'll share. I am currently a stay at home mom to my 4 children. I am now taking classes online through my old university, to become a library media specialist. Once I get the degree, and the twins are in school full time, then I plan to go to work at an elementary or Jr. High library/media center. That way, I can work the same hours as my kids, and help my DH with the money situation. He's been working full time, plus freelancing on the side so that I could stay home with the kids. What a guy!

I am trying desperately to get back into a size 10. If I wear the low-rider jeans, I am. But in regular waisted pants, my leftover pregnancy pouch gets in the way. How do you get rid of that??!!

Ahhhh, that, my dear, is the 64,000.00 question. I'm wondering that myself. I have started doing crunches with DH in the evening, and am beginning to feel something happening.

Ok, you're not going to believe this!~ Keep your fingers crossed! HGTV's show Cash in the Attic will be filming here in Atlanta the first 2 weeks of March. The show's producer just called me and we've made it to the final round. He will call back within the next couple of days to let me know if we've been chosen to be on the show. I said we wanted to redo our basement for the kids and get some adaptive equipment to help Rees out. PD please!!!!

OH MY GOSH!!! How did they even hear about you all and know to call you??? Do you have to submit your name or something?? I can't imagine anything better for you and your family. Then while they are filming you could slip in the fact that they are denying Rees Medicaid. What publicity that would get you. Here's wishing you tons of PD!!!

I work as an office manager at a church. I came to the conclusion a few weeks ago that I am in actuality a mom to 900 families..."I can't find this Theresa where is it?"..."Can we do this?".
I have been in the job for 2 years...I took over for my mom when she moved to the DC area. She now works as an office manager for a church there.
We came to the conclusion that working at one church and worshipping at another is better for everyone involved.
I have a couple of more "quiet" weeks until the Easter season kicks in and I will be busy!!(Plenty of time to DIS)

That is so funny that you also carry your DH's wallet! When I explained & showed my DH the bag that Kate made last night, he said "Did you tell her to make sure there is a pocket for your DH's stuff so that it doesn't get mixed up with everything else?" That is our running joke. For some reason I end up with his stuff when we are at Disney.

Vicki, the only reason I carry DH's wallet, is that he's notorious for leaving it on a counter in a store, or worse, letting it get soaked through when we go on Grizzly River Run. Also, I figure, I'm the one doing all the shopping, so it just makes sense that I hold on to the money and CC cards, right?

There was a blurb in the Atlanta Journal Constitution about 2 weeks ago saying they were looking for Atlanta families. It gave a link to apply on-line. I did, saying what we wanted to fix up (basement storage) and what we had to sell (baseball card collections, comic collections, sports figures, a treadmill, Japanese kimono, some old furniture, etc). Asked about our family, fave things (I said Disney and designing t-shirts)!

Anyway, the producer, Nick Meagher,called today to ask a few more questions and request pictures of us (sent the MGM one at Playhouse Disney with us all in our t-shirts and the one from MVMCP). He said they'd make their final decision and let me know. They'll film the 1st 2 weeks of March.

Hey, if we get picked, y'all gotta help me come up with some DARN good designs to wear on the show!!!!

So, if I would have kept reading further I would have found the answers to my above questions. I've never watched the show, but now I'm going to have to tune in and find out what all it is about. I think you need shirts that would give the DDA some notoriety. Maybe Disney will be watching!

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many pages to catch up on, after it had been so quiet for awhile. It looks like the surprise mini-meet was a huge success. The kids are all so cute! And it looks like everyone had a good time.

Marti, Happy Special Birthday! And as you know I am only 1 day younger than you, so I will certainly stick up for you against all those other "youngsters" that are picking on you.

Also, if anyone is doing any meets in the Rochester area, let me know. I am only about 25 miles from Marti and Skunka (AKA Uncle Paul).

Kate, The bag looks awesome, the only problem I have with bags that go across my front is that they cover up my homemade personallized t-shirts! I bought a bag called a bagallini sling messenger bag (link: http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/mes..._nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=18644) for our last trip, and I liked it a lot, but the strap tended to cover up my t-shirt. Nonetheless, I like bags where I can access everything in the front, rather than a backpack, so your bag would be perfect for me.

Glynis, We will be in Utah in April, at Bryce from April 19 - 21 and Zion April 21-22. It's still quite a distance from you though. Let me know if you think we can work anything out.

Clare, As far as jobs, I am a Process Engineer at Eastman Kodak Company, (which I better get back to!)

It's nice to see the boards so lively again.

Ellen - I actually think that those dates coincide with our school's Spring Break. If that's the case, I definitely think we could work something out! I'll check to make sure and let you know. Zion is only about 50 miles away from my parent's house in one direction, and Bryce is only about an hour and a half away in the other direction. That would be great fun!

Missed you all

Nice to see you back! I've been wondering where you were. Things have been relatively quiet for a while here. There was a mini meet between Kate, Amy and Kevin, and Marti and Paul. A great time was had by all. And it seems that our Queen is human, after all. She made Dole Whips to celebrate the meet, and forgot to put the sugar in. Oh well, it's nice to know she is human.

By the way, I wanted to thank you for the link to the British recipe site. The toad in the hole was delicious! I can't wait to try some more. DH wants Yorkshire pudding, and I'm trying to get my courage up to try it. Any suggestions?

Well, I seem to have uploaed them backwards, but here are the picutres from the party. I guess you'll have to watch the weekend in reverse. And yes, the brown blob at Jojo's feet is supposed to be Goliath so as you can see my sisters' teasing was warrented. In the end, Mom and I decided that since Goliath likes to hide we would add a sign and he could be "hiding" behind the sign. Sad, I know, but it made me feel better. In all we had a lot of fun so that's all that matters!
