Speaking of Chik-Fil-A, I drove by one on my way to bowling on Friday and thought of you all. I haven't been there, because I can't have fried foods for another 4 months, but once I can, I'll be making a trip. Tell me, does this place have any grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, etc.? What would my kids like there? Suggestions? I'm anxious to try it out!

There are yummy grilled sandwiches...wraps, salads. Our favorite wrap is the ceasar. I am pooh sized and can only handle, usually, half a wrap.

The kids will love the kid's meals. The waffle fries are nummy!!

The kid's meal is great because of the toys...educational and Christian!!! It's a favorite haunt of ours!!

Denise -- you are such an incredible person. But even strong, dedicated people need down time. Be sure to take some ME time and come visit your friends on the board here so you can let it all out. It always helps me and seems to calm me down so that I can start to get refocused.

If there is anything at all we can do, please let us know.

Until you are recharged, hang in there!

Glad you're home safe and had a good time...but the burning question: Did you or did you not have a Dole Whip ? :teeth:

I didn't have the heart to tell you right away, but I did not. I was tempted, but just couldn't bring myself to eat ice cream outside while I was striving to keep warm. ;) We're definitely on for one next time though!

I'm playing catch up again. It's been very busy around here, but I'm not really sure why? :confused3 . The Nor'easter that hit the "entire northeast" missed us completely. We ended up with barely a dusting in central VT. The weather here has been so strange. We have had no snowmobiling, sledding or winter fun here. Any skiing in Vermont is on manmade snow that has to be replinshed at night because we are getting 40+ degree weather many days. When it is warm out the kids can't go out to play because everything becomes mud and if it isn't warm it is so cold that going out is no fun. We are so ready for Spring.

The kids came home with a note from school explaining that they are having school spirit week this week. They are supposed to dress to a daily theme. Monday is Formal dress, Tuesday is PJ day, Wednesday is heritage day, Thursday is Disney Day :thumbsup2 , Friday is crazy clothes and hair day. They have dress shirts and ties for tomorrow. Tuesday is another issue. My kids are very warm blooded so they usually sleep in their underwear. They have one piece fleece sleepers for when they are actually cold and they have shorty pjs for when they actually want pjs. They told me that they can't wear one piece pjs as they are to babyish and obviously it is too cold for shorty pjs. So we talked about me making them some sleep pants and designing t-shirts to match. Long story short I ended up checking JCPenney's to see what they had and walked in on 75% clearance and someone leaving the store handed me a 20% coupon. I found sleep pants for $3.09 a pair after all the discounts. I bought other pjs and shirt and sweatshirts for next year. I found a pair of NewBalance sneakers for $5.59 for Colby. I ended up spending $215 on about 60 items for my kids for next winter and saved over $1200. I was so happy. :cloud9: Gotta love a good deal. I ended up buying Nick a pair of orange sleep pants with chopper style motorcycles on them and Yu Gi Oh sleep pants for Hunter. I bought an orange long sleeved ringer T for Nick and a light blue sweatshirt for Hunter. We spent the evening making designs to iron on their shirts. This is what we came up with:

To go with the orange chopper sleep pants:

To go with the blue Yu Gi Oh! sleep pants:

I put Hunter's name at the bottom. I was trying to make it look like the Yu Gi Oh! logo. They really like them and I think that they are very practical for school. I'll try to take a photo of them wearing them on Tuesday.

Deb
the designs look great.

Let me sleep on it...maybe I'll feel refreshed and coherent in the morning! :goodvibes (of course, this morning my morning sickness was so bad I threw up twice ...probably TMI :crazy2: )

Amy :)

I'm sorry you are having to deal with morning sickness. I can sympathize! Been there, done that. It isn't pretty! Hope you are feeling better soon.

No Dole Whip? That's un-American :teeth: But I do understand the warmth factor... we were there one December and my leather coat and gloves still weren't keeping me warm. So save it for next time - its something to look forward to.

Hi, everyone. Well, the meeting with the lawyer was a mixed bag. He thinks we have a case, but isn't sure going to court is our best option. He wants us to consider just reapplying, but the application process is about a year's wait. I don't think we want to take that chance. So, DH and I are talking about going to court. It's extremely expensive which is also a consideration. It's been a rough day emotionally going over all of Rees' issues. So, DH took me and the kids out to dinner for Valentine's Day. During dinner they dimmed the lights, and Rees freaked out (dark enclosed place like the scary rides at Disney). Took all of dinner to calm him down. Was just another reminder of what we're fighting for. I held it together until after they went to bed, and then I lost it. I am so drained. He's not doing well at school, he's "off" at home. I am so emotionally spent. Thanks for listening and for the prayers.

:grouphug: Good luck in whichever way you decide to go!

:grouphug: , Denise. I am so sorry to hear that the insurance issue continues to cause trouble for you all. It's just not fair that kids like Rees are left to fight the system when we should be doing everything we can to help them. We've all said it before, but Rees, Brantly-Kate and Davis are very lucky to have you both as their parents. God truly blessed them with parents willing to do everything possible for them. Many more prayers 1) for you and DH that you make the right decision, 2) for Rees that he may get the help and support he needs from everyone around him to experience a more peaceful life and 3) to BK and Davis as I now they hate to see their brother struggling and their mom so emotionally spent. We love you all and would do anything we can to help if anything ever arises that we can do.

Denise, You deserve mother of the year. I cannot even begin to imagine what all you go thru. I know how I get a little apprehensive in some situations when lights are dimmed but that cannot even come close to what Rees must go thru. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to you and your family

Terry

Denise-

Such a conundrum you are in!! I have no words of advice just follow your heart!! and some hugs and prayers.

If you need anything let us know!!

They do have grilled chicken as well as yummy chicken salad sandwiches. Is it the oil in fried that you can't have? The chicken tenders are pressure cooked with peanut oil so I'm not sure where that falls on your list of cans and can'ts. The kids meals are nuggets and waffle fries. Th kids meals come with things more substantial than other places toys. Often it's a book or CD of some kind.

My DH and I went on a school choir tour 2 weeks before our wedding and my husband caught chicken pox!! Told him that I wasn't going to walk down the aisle if he was still itching and scratching. Then a blizzard happened on the day we were married and the priest was late to the wedding even though he only live across the parking lot. No honeymoon for us as we got married AFTER spring break. More to our lovely wedding but as we tell everybody we know that if we survived the Wedding we can survive anything!! :rotfl2:

My sister had poison ivy on her arm, neck and chin for her wedding. We hit urgent care the day before to see what they could do to help before the nig day and her honeymoon.

So for the past two nights I have had such a hard time deciding what to watch on TV :confused3

Last night it was The Bachelor, Westminster Dog Show and of course The Olympics.
Tonight it was American Idol, Westminster Dog Show and the Olympics.

What to do, what to do :lmao: :lmao:

Denise, sorry to hear you did not get one good option to go with, it is so hard to have to decide and know whether you are making the right decision, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Like everyone has said your children are lucky to have such great parents and you to have such special children. I know how hard it is my oldest sister was born mentally handicapped from problems at birth and it has been tough for my parents as you never know if you are making the right decisions.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

I'm off to bed, going to read my book and try get a good nights sleep.

Enjoy the remainder of V-day.

Denise all I can say is hang in there.
Better days to come.
