Well, this has been quite a morning. I got Katie and Jacob out the door to the bus stop this morning, ran around doing laundry and dishes, and getting the twins dressed. Mondays are the day that I help out at the school doing the take-home reading project. We got there, did our bit, and left as soon as possible. Today is "early out" day, so I had to do all the shopping for the twins 4th birthday before Jacob came home early from kindergarten. We ran to the store, got the stuff for cake and ice cream, Winnie the Pooh burgers, Piglet's potato salad, and Owl's fruit salad, then zipped home. As I'm unloading groceries, I saw the light flashing on the answering machine. Then I heard my cell phone ring. Duh! I'd forgotten to take my cell phone with me.

I answer my cell phone, and it's DH. He tells me the school called him to let him know that Jacob slipped on the way to recess and fell into a brick wall. They told him that he had a gash on his forehead, and someone needed to pick him up right away. So, I buckle the twins back in the van, speed to the school with horrible visions flashing through my mind, and get there in record time. Jacob was sitting in the office, holding a bag of ice on his head. He had a gash about an inch long that was bleeding quite a lot (head wounds, you know?). So, I get him to the car, drop the twins off at my SIL's house, and take Jacob to the hospital. Meanwhile, Jacob is freaking out because he just doesn't want stitches. I didn't dare promise him that he wouldn't get any, because frankly, it looked pretty bad to me. The doctor confirmed what I thought, and I had to hold Jacob down while the dr. gave him 4 shots in his forehead (ouch!), and then 5 stitches. Poor little guy tried so hard to hold still, but he was crying hysterically!

Once it was over, we went to Wendy's for lunch, picked up the twins and came home. Whew! I need a nap. Jacob is white as a sheet, and has a headache from Hades! I'm hoping that the Motrin will kick in and he'll get some relief. Luckily, there was no sign of a concussion!

So, how's your day??????

YIKES!!!! Don't you hate Mondays? Poor guy!

If anyone's really bored, I just rediscovered a website my sister dedicated to Alyssa. She hasn't updated it in awhile, and it made me all sentimental, because my baby is going to be 2 on April 3rd!!! :goodvibes

Oh and please someone tell me my body's going to look like that again!!! :teeth:

Amy :)

You're such a cute family :goodvibes Can't wait to see pictures of the four of you :)

Those pictures are ALL adorable! I especially love "being dainty"... great title for the picture! :rotfl: Your family is too cute!

Wow, you're fast! You must be procrastinating studying or something to look at them all! ;) :rotfl:

Thanks for the compliments. I better go wake Miss Dainty up from her nap, otherwise it's going to be a late night!

And, I might even go pack! :teeth:

Amy :)

P.S. And Jennifer, you were supposed to reassure me that my body will look like that again. Sheesh! :rotfl2:

The kids and I are going to make a Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing tomorrow. It'll be their first cake! Then we're going to dinner for seafood.

DH's parents are coming Saturday, so he's taking me to the movie. Our 11th Wedding Anniversary is on April 1st (yes, April Fools Day), and we just got tickets to go to the Symphony and out to a new restaurant called One.Midtown. Should be fun.

I taught all weekend, so I'm wiped. BK is much better. I am falling apart. I still have pink eye, sinus/ear infection, but I also either have another kidney stone or a kidney/bladder infection. My antibiotic should take care of it if it's the 2nd one. If it's a kidney stone, I just wait it out.

Have a great trip! Take lots of pictures!

Oh, Denise! I'm feeling your pain! I passed my 3rd kidney stone since the surgery this past weekend. I just dosed up on the heavy meds and let time do its thing. I wish I was closer so I could help out.

The cake sounds incredible! I love carrot cake! I didn't realize that my twins were born on your birthday! What a great thing! I'll always be able to remember your birthday, now! I hope you have a great time at dinner; I love seafood! And then to be able to celebrate your anniversary, too! What a good plan you came up with!

Kevin just called the owners of the house we looked at last night to set up a meeting for tonight...she said that as soon as we left, her husband said, "Those are the people I want to buy our house!" :goodvibes

They even cancelled their meeting with a realtor today, stating they think they already have a buyer. :sunny:

So, it seems all that's left to do is agree on a number...

Oh, and sell our house and pray that all the financing goes through!!!

Amy :)

FANTASTIC news. I hope everything falls in to place! :sunny:

Jacob and Rees would get along great! Rees loves HP!

I started reading the books to Katie, and Jacob would listen with us. Then Katie got to the point where she wanted to do the reading on her own. That really bummed Jacob out, until he realized it would mean more one on one time with mom. We're halfway through book 5 and he is really into it. He and his friends play HP all the time. I've knitted them "house" scarves for this winter. We have a couple of Gryffindors, and some Ravenclaw. Surprisingly, no Slytherin or Hufflepuff. DH's brother is in the process of making wands for them all. He makes them, polishes them, and personalizes them for all the kids in the neighborhood. It's his way of de-stressing after teaching Middle School music all day long. Lucky us!

What a lovely way to spend your birhday...sick!! Glad to know everyone else seems to be on the mend though!!

OK, I have to stay off the Pottery Barn Kids website!!! I am ordering stuff for Kyle's "Big Boy" room and can't stop!!

I got some of the Cameron bookcases last week- which are the cutest and the color matches perfectly with the bed we got elsewhere :thumbsup2 I also got some of their storage boxes, but when they came they were light blue, not dark blue like the catalog shows. I called to "comment" on that, and they offered to pick them up for free and credit my account. So now I am back to storage issues, so I just order 4 of their bright red buckets that say "Toys," "Blocks," "Cars," and "Stuff" I wanted to get the red step stool and another red canvas bucket to put under his nightstand for holding bedtime stories, but they are both out of stock for some time, so I managed to stop myself.....this time :rotfl:

Well, as far as I know, it doesn't look any different since you won't allow any pictures! Kate offered to give us a monthly bump-update, but noooo.... so how am I supposed to compare?! :rotfl:

No, I think that you're adorable! I'm guessing you still are even now, but since you don't think so, I'll tell you that you'll look like that "again" after Matthew arrives. If not right away, give him a little while then you'll have two to chase, no? :confused3

I don't think I'm much help :teeth: And no, I'm not really procrastinating studying. I SHOULD be studying, since my nursing finals are this Wednesday, but I'm not even attempting to yet. So I dont think that counts as procrastination, it's a planned delay!

Both my DD's and I are big Harry Potter fans! Awesome story line. What will we do after the last book is released!!! :confused3

That's what I keep wondering! I have loved them from the beginning, and I will be really sad to see them end. I've been trying to find another series that my kids and I will like as well. So far, I've found a few things, but nothing that grabs me like HP did.

And yes, you will be back down to that size! ::yes::

Ooooo, DH's parents...I hope they "behave" themselves! I don't want to come back and read that they did this to you again :furious:

I hope you are feeling well enough to truly enjoy your birthday! :goodvibes

And take pictures of those cuties baking their first cake! :sunny:

As I was baking on Saturday, I kept thinking, someday Alyssa and Matthew will help me with these and my cookies won't look quite so perfect. :rotfl:

Amy :)

They may not be as perfect, but in a way they'll be even better because there will be so many memories knit up in them. Even now, when I look through my recipes, I find so many that I made with my parents, and I'm whisked back to those times. I love cooking with my kids, making those same memories! You're going to love it!

Okay guys, I am a majorly sad because I just finished filling out the forms to register DD for 1st grade. I can't imagine how quiet our house will be when she isn't here during the day :guilty:.

It was also a really hard decision to make about where to send her. We had always agreed to send our kids to our parish school where we go to church at. Well our son has been totally blind since birth and he goes to public school because they offer all of his services that he needs for free, he does amazingly well and I could not be happier with the school district we are in. So I really felt like a hypocrite to separate the two of them !!! DH and I completely butted heads over this whole issue, especially since I like to be involved at school and it is definitely easier to have them in the same school!!! I have not been overly impressed with how things have been so far for DD this year in kindergarten in the same school as DS.

Anyway after a lot of talking we finally decided it might be better to split them up. I think it might be easier if DD is not always living in DS shadow and being compared to him, I also feel like we might pressure her to help him or watch out for him etc. etc., which I don't want her to end up resenting later on. I also am hoping that maybe there will be more discipline in the private school, DD is not a bad kid but sometimes I think that she definitely needs some extra discipline!!! And lastly my mother-in law works at the school we are sending her to and I feel like maybe she can be my other set of ears, and she already has a lot of friends in this school already from pre-school...

Sorry to ramble on like this I guess that I am just a little sad over my baby going off to first grade soon, and maybe I am looking for a little validation that I am doing the right thing...

Thanks For Listening!!!

:grouphug: I just wanted to send you some :grouphug: I know this isn't easy. Grace is 6 and will go to first grade nest year. She is my youngest and has some special needs. She also wears hearing aids. We are having her tested at the public school. It is such a roller coaster and so much to consider. Her siblings are older (10 & 12) so I do expect them to watch out for her, but I love her school now and wonder how she will do!! Children are so resilient. With a Mom who cares so much yours will do great!!! Good Luck!!!
