Happy October, one day late, DDA! I hope everyone is having a good day!

I haven't cropped pictures or uploaded any pictures to Photobucket in ages, so I decided to ditch the cleaning and work on this a bit. Here are some of my favorites from the past month:

I know what you mean about the listings. I believe I have been listing my own pins on pin pics from at least 2003 & I think before that. It wasn't as daunting then as there weren't as many pins. I still have 3 or 4 pins I can't find on pinpics, I keep them aside and ask the "experts" from the Central Jersey Pin group. They know everything. My nephews have asked me to put their pins on pinpics. Since we are taking them to the pin event at AK next May I figure I need to do that for them. Otherwise they will be trading away great pins and not even care.

Glad they got it settled! Doesn't seem like the politicians care too much about the state employees.

No, I don't think so either. We have a much reduced work force than we did before. I'm not saying that we don't have employees that should be fired but that isn't any different than the teachers that schools would like to fire but can't due to tenure. We have to deal with Civil Service and they are just as bad. However, the work load for the average state employee has increased every year. They make staffing cuts but the work load never decreases. At some point, you have to stop the staffing decrease without a workload decrease.

Two years ago, we worked 80 hours a pay period but only got paid for 76. The other hours went into a leave time bank. We can take them as leave hours or keep it until retirement and get paid for them then. That is how they "balanced" the budget that year.

Every year, they try some other way to "balance" the budget at the expense of the employees. They would have extended the banked leave time but the federal government wouldn't let them.

Thought I better say hi soon. I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not posting much lately as my mom and sister just bought the house across the street from me and I have been helping them get settled.

I do remember you from when you posting before, but then like a lot of others you were gone. Hope you choose to stay around longer this time.

Hi - you are right, I did go away. I used to post alot on this forum and then life got in the way, I didn't visit as often and their started being an undercurrent of people not being happy with other people. I decided to take a break from the forum. I still stopped in, but I stopped designing and if I did design, I wasn't comfortable sharing. However, I still lurked. It looks like there are a still some people who were here at the beginning and lots of new great designers. It is hard keeping up with this thread though. But fun. I am enjoying reading everyone's posts and admiring everyone's work. You would think that I would have made great strides in my ability to conquer this computer since I have been lurking for so long, but sadly to say I still agonize for hours over every design I do. That's why I don't do that many. However with 2 trips planned for the next year (1 in Feb & 1 in May) I am going to be making bunches and bunches of shirts & this time I promise to post them.

This was one of the lead stories on our local news today! Alan was watching with me, and he said, "Doesn't that Pal Mickey lady work for the MI government? Is she going to be ok?" I was impressed that he knew that much about you from my talking. I'm so glad that things are working out! You were tops in my prayers last night!

Unfortunately, I can't install QuickTime on my laptop so I wasn't able to view them. I'll try to remember to look at them when I'm at my desktop. I'm sure they are awesome!
