Beth this statement would have sent me over the edge & I would have not been able to hold my tongue! No one is my child's boss, not even their teachers  WTH is she thinking! Since when does a school decide which way you can walk home :confused3 I would be at the meeting & I would be voicing my opinions.

Sorry you are having to deal with this  You have every right to be upset, I am furious for you!

ETA: Beth maybe it is not wise to listen to me, I get to over protective & don't always think like I should. You have gotten some very sound advice from others. I do hope this all works out for you!

Now I have a little school vent,

At the end of the conversation, she bent over to my son, and said, “I want you to know that you shouldn’t be in trouble for listening to me. When you are at school, I am the boss, not your mom.

Hi Tia! Glad to hear fil is doing better!

Good morning, friends! I am who knows how far behind so I'm just going to jump back in. Sorry for the long absence. We finally got ready for company Labor Day weekend and then I spent last week trying to get myself back into some kind of routine. It has worked well so far (knock on wood!) and the house is continuing to look really nice and clean. I still have a little finish up work to do on the playroom still (mainly sorting craft supplies), but we're finally getting there.

Not much other news around here. Phil got back from CA on Labor Day and his dad is doing MUCH better. He has another week or so of therapy and then he should be able to go home. He'll still have therapy everyday, but he'll at least get to be at home at night. His dad even called me on Labor Day to thank Terra and I for letting Phil come out there again to help. It was a very sweet call and he sounded really good.

If anyone can fill me in on what I've missed in the last two weeks, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks!

So how are you today?

Glad to hear everything went good at her appointment! Hopefully the meds & time will help.

Good morning everyone!

Alyssa's appt. went fine. They did another ultrasound and said that her bladder is still not emptying completely. He prescribed a medication, Ditropan, that will let her bladder hold more and decrease the urgency to go. He also suggested biofeedback, which he described like a videogame. Sensors are placed on her skin in the groin area. As she flexes and relaxes her muscles, things are displayed on the tv monitor. She drinks and then has to hold it, then go, etc. I know I didn't explain it very well, but the concept of it is the doctors can see which muscles she is using to hold it and/or go. And this helps her to learn how to do it. So that is another option we can try. It's a 3 hour procedure and he said some kids pick it up after one or two sessions. He also did say that starting school is where a lot of kids face setbacks. So maybe in some time things will level out.

Deb - I hope you aren't too uncomfortable today and that you were able to sleep. I've had one UTI and I remember very vividly how painful it is.

Jen - I really like the portrait. I hope you can get the corrections made.

Debbie - Welcome home! Thank you so much for the post card.

Tia and Beth - :wave2: Long time no see.

:wizard: and :grouphug: to everyone all!

I like the 1st one, but the 2cd one looks more Christmasy. Good luck with your decision!

Well I like these 2 but am not sure they are really Christmasy (more like Halloween) but I like their faces in them. Which would you pick?

Anne Marie - I like the Cinderella one, and like Deb said, if you play around with some borders I'm sure you can make it Christmasy.

Glad to hear things went well with the visit to the Dentist. I have been thinking of getting my teeth bleached as well. For now I am just using whitening toothpaste & mouthwash. It has helped a little, I think :confused3

I survived the dentist. I hope the feeling in my face comes back soon.:rolleyes1 For the bargain price of $500 (AFTER insurance) I will have a new crown in 10-12 working days. For now the same OLD crown has been temp-glued in there AGAIN! He said not to chew on that side. I am trying to decide if I want to try a custom bleach kit. I told the dentist I will talk to him more about it when I go to have the permanent crown glued in. I have been wanting to bleach my teeth for awhile. He is running a special for $200 for 2 custom fit trays and the bleach solution. I just wonder if it will make THAT much of a difference, or if I should wait until I can afford to have them lasered.

The Dr's office called and said they have a new prescription for DS. I will send DH to pick it up - they didn't say if it is just for a stronger dose of his current med or if they are prescribing a short acting "booster" for homework. Guess we'll see!

Thanks, Glynis. You and Deb are very reasonable people. I certainly try to be, but sometimes I'm just too close to the situation.

That's why it's nice to have the DDA where you can come and vent and get some outside advice. I can tell you, if it had been me, and the principal had said those things to me, I probably wouldn't have been as calm as you were. I would have said some other choice things!

I went in and had lunch with Shane and Owen today (different times) and Owen's teacher asked me if I would come in tomorrow and help. :yay:

Yes, Tammi...I'm going to the PTA meeting tonight. I'll let you know if anything happens. I'm sure that it's not going to be as fun as Beth's PTA meeting. ;) Have fun mowing your yard. :upsidedow

I want to try the kit, but I want my teeth to be blinding white. Like Tic Tacs. The examples in the pictures look GREAT, but I don't know what sort of outcome I could expect. My teeth were never super white, and all the coffee hasn't helped! I might do a little research on other methods and costs before I decide.

Your daughters are absolutely beautiful and their eyes are stunning! Your son is quite handsome as well. My choice would be the last one, but they are all great!
Thank you!

Thanks, Terry! I really hate confrontation. I worked to calm myself completely down before I saw her, and I went in with a pleasant attitude. She is the one changed it all around. If she had just come out and told me that it was for liability reasons, there wouldn't have been anything else that I could have said. She is the one who turned it into me not being concerned about my son's safety. If she had just said that she made a mistake by not informing me and apologized, there would have been nothing more that I could have graciously said. One of the problems is that she is going to be at the meeting. I really hate speaking in front of groups of people (as I'm getting sick just thinking about it). I hope I can keep myself strong. The mother bear in me will most likely help with that.
Beth, I would have gone primevil on the principal if she she said that while I was there. I think you have shown great restraint. I hope it comes to a good conclusion for you.

I love that! Who designed it?
Hmmm..I am not sure, I am going to check!

I like the 1st one, but the 2cd one looks more Christmasy. Good luck with your decision!

Ok, (if I am counting right) so I think I have 5 Cindys, 3 Plutos, & 4 of the ones of their faces at CRT.
Thanks for voicing your opinions. Its almost a tie!!!

Well, so much for mowing. Not enough gas.

Alyssa had a great day today. No accidents in school.

But she did have an accident at daycare before I picked her up.

Hey, I'll take what I can get!

Deb - LOVE the eyeballs! I'm gonna have to remember that for next year!

I like the shirt design too! If everyone else does it - I'll do it. (Peer pressure!!!) I just planned on wearing my trading spaces shirt and hat.

Elizabeth - I'd love to whiten my teeth but I have extremely low enamel which makes my teeth super sensitive so the dentist actually didn't recommend it for me. Go figure.

I know I missed quite a few people so HI!!!!
