Congrats to Cassidy for her final math grade!!:cheer2:
How is Pearl doing? We need more pics of her since she is home now!
Yay for getting unpacked! That is such a chore!
Enjoy your dinner! DH was just reminding me that Father's Day is coming up.
Mickey Crocs are widely available. Especially for girls who do well in math.:rolleyes1 ;)

Pearl is queen and she knows it. :rotfl: I think she's gained 3 lbs and thankfully she loves the toys we bought at the store.

I will have to look for the pink mickey crocs.

on that note does anybody know if High School Musical clothing comes in grown up sizes at the World. :confused3 (that's what Cassidy wants to get while we're at the World.)

So my shopping trip was successful. It only took 4 hours.:headache: I ended up buying a whole suit, however I will only be wearing the jacket on Monday. The pants don't quite fit yet, i need to lose more weight. I was kind of desperate as nothing was fitting/ working so I will wear the jacket with the black pants I have.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes. DH (Hal) is taking me to a baseball game tomorrow. We will ride the bike. Lancaster has a baseball team. The Barnstormers.

Here is a picture of their mascot Cylo with me when I was Tony the Tiger

You have had some really cool jobs!!

I love the minor league teams....those games are often better than some of the major league games I've seen, and we've been lucky enough to see some of the Red's players before they hit the majors in Billings. Enjoy yourself!!!

Hunter received a letter in the mail today from the Principal of his school:

Dear Hunter

Enclosed with this letter is a free ticket to attend a Vermont Lake Monster game on either July 11 or August 7, 2007. Mrs. Read and I have selected two students from each grade, whom we consider Outstanding Students. If you are able to attend either Lake Monster game, you will join students who have been selected for this honor from schools all over Vermont. You will also have the opportunity to have your name announced during the game.

It has been a pleasure to work with Mrs. Read to honor students from our school who are all around good citizens. Thank you for all you bring to this school. We hope that you enjoy the show.

The Vermont Lake Monster's are our Baseball Team. We will go to the game and he will get to go out onto the field and introduce himself to all the fans. We are so Proud of him. He is very excited. Nick is a little jealous as he is also a Great Student and has had an acceptional year. Oh well, maybe next year.

How cool!!!

and what a fun name for a baseball team.

Becky-

I am glad you were succesful!!

I was thinking of you when I went swimsuit shopping....it took me at least 20 swimsuits to find one that fit properly and I only have a slightly long torso...I could imagine your pain. I ended up with a so-so fitting suit.

Good luck on Monday!!

I would imagine so, they tend to have stuff in sizes for little kids and big kids, including the really big kids who never grow up. Considering it is High School Musical, you would think they would make it in sizes for people who would be in High School and that includes those grown up sizes. Somebody else might have a better answer for you.

WOW that's great. CONGRATS Hunter :woohoo:

Hi, everyone. Sorry I haven't been around today! I feel like a chicken rushing around with her head cut off! I think we're ready to go, though! The car is packed, the only thing left to do is toss toothbrushes in in the morning, and throw the cooler in before we leave.

We're stopping in Vegas for the night tomorrow, so it will break the trip up some! The kids are so excited I know they won't be sleeping tonight! Maybe I'll slip them a sleeping pill in their milk and cookies???

I don't think that I'll be able to post while I'm in DL, so until next week, my friends!!! I'm taking notes, pictures, etc., so expect to see a pretty comphrehensive report when we get home!

Have a great week, and know that I'm thinking about you all, and keeping you in my prayers!!! Good luck to everyone who needs it!!!
I know that I missed you and I'm sorry about that. I hope you all have a wonderful time. You certainly deserve it!

Thanks, Lindsay. After looking at all the pictures, it does remind me a lot of WL's decorations. I inquired for Dec. 2-7, but I could do Dec. 9-14. I'm trying to stay away from Fri and Sat nights though.
Great idea to stay away from weekends. I chose the dates I went last Dec to suit a friend who only wanted to go for 3 nights and I knew it wasn't the ideal time but I was surprised how crazy it was. We went 13th to 17th but Christmas was on a Monday last year so I'm sure a lot of folks who were there for the week before Christmas were already arriving the weekend I was there.

I will definitely do a TR for you all. Well, if you're interested, that is.
Very interested! Can't wait!

Five minutes of computer time = one roll of toilet paper!!!

And just think, he's not even walking yet! :rotfl:

Have a great day DDA!
Amy :)
TOO Cute!!!

Thanks for all the comments of support for my Mom!
The hospital is going to release her on Thursday. The tests are inconclusive as to what happened.
She is still somewhat disoriented, but is getting better. She still doesn't remember falling, or laying on the floor of her apartment for over 24 hours!

The doctors are changing some of her meds around, hoping that that will remedy the problem.
My brothers and I will be calling twice a day from now on to check on her. I figure with all of us taking a turn, it will be easier for all of us.
Glad to hear she's on her way home. Hope she continues to recover quickly.

Hi, all! Sorry that I haven't been around. It is getting to be crazy again, and one of our computers stopped working entirely. That means a family of 5 computer geeks on one computer! :scared1:

I have been busy doing stuff like this.

The one today was for the Teacher Appreciation breakfast at the elementary school. I also did two smaller ones for a baby shower for one of the assistant teachers at work.

Preschool is done except for the cleaning and reorganizing! That might give me a bit more time now.

Synchronized swimming is almost done, since Laura's team did not make it to Nationals. :sad1: Two of the other teams did, though, and I am in charge of getting the paperwork out. She still has Empire State Games tryouts on Saturday. I don't expect her to make it, but you never know.

We have a doe and her fawn in our yard today. This doe has something wrong with her one front leg. It is drawn up in front of her and is useless. She was around our back yard a lot last summer, and I was worried about how she was going to do over the winter. Well, it looks like she is doing quite well. I was able to snap a few pictures. They aren't great, because they are from a distance. Please ignore the long grass in the back. I wouldn't let dh mow it while the wild flowers were in their glory back there. I was planning to mow today, but I don't want to disturb Mama and her baby. Sorry about the tree, too, but I couldn't find a great angle from any of the windows in the house.

I've been trying to read a little bit, but I think it will be easier just to read the most current pages when I can get on.

:grouphug: and :wizard: ! I do think about the DDA every day, even when I don't get to the thread.

Beth
Love your fruit arrangements! And your doe & fawn photos are great. How cute is that baby?

Those of you with younger kids, say 5 & 12 or so ;), would you ever take a trip to WDW without them? I'm just tossing around the idea in my head for just Craig & I to go in July 2008. It will be our 15th anniversary and since we honeymooned in WDW, it would be ok for just us to go, right? I'm feeling a bit guilty of even considering not taking them.
I've been a few times without my children. I was feeling guilty about my May trip because both Lizzy & Joe had valid AP's so all it would cost me was their airfares and a few meals. BUT....I really needed a trip for me.

I am home and my new contract looks good!:cool1: I e-mailed my new bosses to tell them I am ready to sign it, we just need to set up a time.
:woohoo:

Good morning :)

Today is Garrett's 1st official day of no school. Riley's last day will be Friday & I pick up report cards Friday.

I have so much I need to do today & it looks like it is going to be a wet one outside. I am going to buy season passes to our outdoor pool facilities. I am not going to mess with buying a pool this year. I know the boys will get good use of it & it only costs $20 more to add myself.

My laundry is over flowing & I need to clean the house. Oh what fun

Riley has a game tonight if it does not get rained out.

Is anyone else thinking about purchasing a personalized brick from Disney? Gary told me to go for it(which really surprised me), but I can't get over the price tag. What to do, what to do

Have a great day all!
My kids don't get out til the 17th. We've joined the pool too so the kids can take lessons. The pool opens the 23rd and lessons start the 25th. Emma says she may try it this year. Last year she simply said "I'm not doing that" and walked away. I was sad to hear that the instructors didn't even try to encourage her. Hopefully she'll feel up to it this year and will have more encouraging instructors.

I was thinking about a brick but still unsure about the price. What would you put on your brick? I don't really want to put DH's name on the brick because he's not a WDW fan. I don't think he'd want our last name on it. I was thinking of this:

Magical Memories
Lizzy,Joe & Emma
Cohasset, MA

Some folks say not to put your hometown but we are unlikely to move as this house has been in my DH's family for 50 years.

I did the Leave a Legacy with Lizzy and now they are stopping that. So much easier to do something that cost $25!

Here are a couple of pictures of Patches:

Have a great day all!
So cute!!!

Now I am bummed out. Checked the weather, and it is suposed to rain all aftenoon tomorrow.
I will have to convince Hal to take me to Corner Stable outside of Baltimore. They have the best ribs we have ever tasted.
In fact, from now on, when my sister comes to visit, I have to pick her up in Baltimore so we can stop there coming and even going :lmao: :lmao:

Miles had his first swim meet this morning, and did a terrific job! There was a mixup, and he missed his first race. They were so nice about it, though, and they let him swim it after the last heat. He was the only one in the pool, and they even gave him a heat ribbon. He thought that was great. He also actually earned a heat ribbon in his breaststroke.

Laura is at try-outs for Empires right now. I am nervous for her. I hope that her day goes as well.

Matthew drove on actual roads today for the first time.

Beth
Wow! Sounds like a great day for everyone. As I read, I hope I find out how Laura did at tryouts.

Congratulations to Hunter, and to Nick as well!!!

Today was a wonderful day. We went to a craft fair this morning, and boy did it get warm in the afternoon. Anyway, there was a 'make your own' candle place and the kids decided they wanted to make one. So I said why don't you each make one and you can give them to daddy for Father's Day. Brilliant. No fuss no muss and only $10 for both. We came home and rested a bit and had dinner, then went over to the film fest. The night was perfect for sitting outside, even a little cool. We didn't get home until about 11:30. Now I am caught up and heading to bed.

I have the Canon S3 IS. They have just announced the S5, so you may be able to get a good deal on the S3 if you watch for it. (There is no S4. I guess 4 is an unlucky number in some Asian countries.) Mine was an early birthday present from dh. I wanted to have it for track season and the end of the synchronized swim season. The only problem is that I am filling up my hard drive much too quickly.

I would love to have a dSLR, but I can't afford that right now, and I also needed something that isn't too big to carry around. The S3 has a 12x optical zoom. I think that the photos come out very well.
Glad to hear you like the S3 IS. A coworker was interested in my Sony but they don't make my camera anymore and I've read some bad reviews on the replacement. I told him to look at your camera.

On tap for today is finding 2 more pair of shorts for Mary. She refuses to wear anything "girly" so her skorts and pink shorts are out! I'm going to take her to a store called Suzie's Deals where we can pick some shorts up for under 5 dollars!
Hope you found some nice non girly shorts. Emma is the same except she will wear a skort it the color is right. She'll wear black, navy, red, orange, or green. She won't wear pink and no light colors.

Nick and Hunter did the Pirate Cruise out of the Grand Floridian a few years back. They enjoyed it. nick is too old now. Chris, Colby and I had breakfast at Kona while they were on the cruise. Good times for us all.

The kids just came home so I asked them what was not to be missed

Nick (11)said:

Hunter (9) said:

Colby (4) said:

That is something that we've never seen, It is definitely on my to do list for this trip :thumbsup2 I must also try schoolbread. Chris thinks he should try to drink his way around the world, but since he really never drinks I think he'll need to do this gradually :faint: :drinking1 :faint:

DisneyQuest is a huge TO DO for all 4 of my boys :lmao:
I had schoolbread for the first time in May and it was really wonderful and huge and relatively cheap ($2.50).

Miyuki, the candy lady, is very cool! :thumbsup2 If you get there about 15 minutes before her show and are up front, you'll have a good chance of having a candy animal made for you.
I have to do this with my kids. I did make sure the girls did it in May. We were there a few minutes early. There was already 1 family there with 2 children. She did those 2, the 2 girls and just one more child.

Are her times posted somewhere? I know the kids will love it, me included:love:
Times are also posted on a sign in Japan. Her kiosk is near the store.

As for the bricks, Kyle and I bought one. Well, I bought one, which Kyle will find out about on our anniversary :rolleyes1 He has really wanted one though since we started going there. I personally found the price much lower than I thought. My in-laws bought a brick in a new gymnasium at their local HIGH SCHOOL (nothing special) for about $700, and a brick at Kyle's and my alma mater in their central hub is over $1000, which includes a "free" lifetime alumni association membership. Now THAT is insane, and yet I'd love one of those, too. :rotfl: This seemed much more reasonable to me, and I'm excited that most of the "new" ones are going in front of the MK! :thumbsup2
You know I keep going back and forth between your expectations that the price isn't even higher and then thinking $295 :scared1:

On a whim I was checking December airfare today. Over $400 per person!:scared1: I do believe we are staying HOME in December this year! I will keep watching the fares, though. DS has a 4 day weekend over MLK next year, so if we can't manage another trip before then maybe we'll go for a quick trip in January.
How about around January 10th? I hope to bring Joe for his birthday. Jet Blue is only selling through Jan 9th. If we go for his birthday I want to be there the entire day so I was thinking of Wed 1/9 to Sun 1/13. Joe would miss 4 days of school. But that is marathon weekend. So now I'm really leaning toward Sun 1/6 to Fri 1/11. Joe would miss 5 days of school but would have the entire weekend to recover before going back to school. I thought about buying airfare down as it was only $99 but I didn't really feel comfortable not having a flight home. Now its up to $139.

Chuck & I were supposed to go to Ludington (downstate) this week-end for my cousin's kids graduation. However, the person that I've been training with so that we would be interchangeable if needed lost his mother today. He'll be off next week. They've requested I come to Lansing for the week. That really sucks because Tuesday is my 25th wedding anniversary. I talked to Chuck though and he knows that I'll be stressed and won't really enjoy our time together. That also means that it doesn't make sense for us to go downstate. So I'll be going downstate by myself for the graduation and then head to Lansing straight from there.
Congrats on your anniversary!!! Sorry you won't get to spend it with Chuck. Glad you do get to spend more time with your brother and nephew this weekend before they go back to Japan.
