Katie fell off the top bunk bed when she was 6 years old. She landed right on her face! For at least a week she had 2 black eyes, a swollen nose and lips. Not to mention bruises galore! I had to go in to the school and explain what happened to the principal, the secretaries, the lunch ladies and her teacher. It was so horrible! It's so sad that we have to explain so we don't get the police called on us.
Yes it is definitely sad that people would need to jump to conclusions.:sad2: Reflection of the times I guess. I worry about Blake rolling off the top bunk in his sleep but so far so good. We needed the bunk bed to free up space so we could move Caleb's bed in there so Effie can have his own room as his sleep schedule is different than the older boys.

Good morning all. I have been reading along but just didn't take notes. Too tired. :flower3: I'm sending out 's and :wizard: to everyone in need.

My house looks like a bomb went off inside. Eric has been busy putting together all the new furniture we bought yesterday, 2 beds, 4 dressers, a night stand and an end table. So all of Emma and Molly's clothes are strewn about needing to get put away, not to mention all the empty boxes and such. I was hoping to have it done by this morning but am now aiming for next year. :rotfl: One of these days I will feel like I actually live here and am not constantly moving/rearranging things.

I've also managed to get completely caught up on laundry which is unbelievable. Of course none of those clothes are put away either. I was up at 4:30 this morning and had nothing better to do. I also made 2 batches of rice krispie treats for later today. I am hoping once I get to my aunt's house I can just relax!!

I hope everyone has a great day. It is hot and humid here but the sun is shining so I can't complain too much! Talk to you all later!
Hope all is going well with you and the baby. Not much longer how exciting.:goodvibes

Prayers and pixie dust needed, Please!

I know the power of the DDA and just wanted to post this quickly before I leave.

The property supervisor of my Mom's complex found her laying on the floor of her apartment. Her gentleman friend had tried to call her for two days and got no answer. He called the supervisor and she found her there.

From the little news that I have so far, she was very disoriented, but conscious. They have rushed her to the hospital via ambulance, so I am on my way!

I will let you know what is going on when I find anything out!

Again, thanks!
Sending lots of :wizard: .

So this bit of getting drenched on Sunday evenings better stop soon. Last Sunday I got soaked leaving Dorney, today I got drenched finishing cleaning up at the graduation party I worked at. Let's just say I would love to move into the basement of the house or the backyard at that house. It looked like a resort like you would see in Florida or the Caribbean. It reminded me of the Polynesian at WDW. It had a multi level waterfall stream into a fish pond. A hot tub that has three waterfalls into an awesome pool, a huge pool house with full bathroom and patio with an outdoor kitchen.

Tomorrow I officially have off, unless I go into work for a few hours. I am only scheduled 32 hours this week, but can work up to 40 hours. Either way I get paid 8 hours holiday in addition to what I work. Plus the 8 hours I worked today catering.

I have never heard of cleaning tombstones before. I have placed flags on the grave sites of soldiers who fought in wars for the VFW. My brother used to work doing maintenance/groundskeeping at a cemetery and he never heard of doing so either. You learn something NEW everyday on the DIS.:thumbsup2

Happy Memorial Day Everyone.
Wow that's some pool. I would love an outdoor kitchen, I hate heating up the house to cook dinner in summertime. We don't have AC so turning on the oven makes the house feel like an inferno.

I can use prayers and good thoughts for my Grandpa. Remember how at Christmas we had him go to the ER because of arthritis and Gout. Well he was supposed to go to an arthritis specialist he had an appointment but because his pain and problems had went away he never went.

Well he ended up back at the ER on Thursday or Friday for the same reason. Sorry my days are running together. He is in tons of pain and can hardly walk again. They of course sent him home with meds and now has an appointment with the arthritis specialist for August. I am hoping they will be able to get an earlier appointment or that the meds he has now work, so his pain goes away. He is staying at my Aunt's with my Grandma as she can't care for him with him having a hard time walking. This stresses her out and she has several health problems of her own aggravated by stress.

Elizabeth and Theresa,

I had two visitors today that made me think of you. I was in the kitchen fixing lunch when I heard something crying at the door, I opened it up and there was a small kitten, we were outside holding that one when we heard another one crying around the corner. I think they belong to my neighbors who have been away since Friday and I'm not sure when they will be back.

Here they are playing in the backyard,

And they decided my hamper looked like a good place for a nap ( my laundry room is outside so I keep a hamper on the back patio)

I fed them and gave them something to drink, I hate to think that they might get hit in the street, but I can't take the chance of bringing them in as I have an 11 year old cat now, and these kittens might not be completely healthy, they are difinitely flea infested.
They look so darling.:)

Good evening all. Sounds like some nice weekends going around, despite a little weather. I hope that most everyone has a nice day off tomorrow. Mom doesn't so it pretty much seems like a normal day around here. I was just saying we'd go to the library forgetting that they'll be closed for the holiday probably. Oh well, guess maybe I'll start working on my list of things I need to accomplish for the summer, family reunion planning, job searches for Phil, etc.

Have a nice evening everyone!
Hope you have a nice Memorial Day. :goodvibes

Debbie - I am not a cat person, but those little kitties are just adorable!
Yep I like how cute kitties look but I'm more a dog person. Of course, my being allergic to cats could be why.:)

Just a quick post to say graduation and the party went fantastic. Bill finally made it here from Japan JUST in time to make graduation - long story which I'll share later but he made graduation just before the graduates walked in. It was a great party. All that is left at the house are my mom, sister & her kids, brother Bill and his infant son. And of course, Chuck, Katrina, Becky & I. Becky is off to the all-night grad party and I'm off to bed.

:cheer2: Congrats to Becky.

I hope he recovers quickly. Make sure that he goes to the next appointment

I'm glad that it went well. I'm sure that her graduation is a bit bitter sweet since she is your youngest.  Enjoy her excitement and the time with your brother and the baby:thumbsup2

I'm not sure how tall Hunter is but he only weighs 52 lbs. Colby is 4 1/2 and weighs 42 lbs. I think it won't be long before my baby outweighs my middle son and there is only 5 years difference :lmao:
:rotfl2: I always warned Zack not to pick on his youger brother Caleb and now Caleb is close to outweighing him. Than he'll be picking on him.:rolleyes1

Now that I'm caught up I'll share our day with you. We got up bright and early and took the boys to the fishing Derby. They loved it. The pond was just stocked yesterday. There was a 5 fish per child limit. The kids had caught there limit in the first 1/2 hour. They didn't catch the biggest or smallest fish so no trophies, but it was good fun. We had to wait 2 hours longer for the door prizes. Colby won a new reel and Hunter won the ugliest fish pillow I've ever seen :lmao: They also got goody bags with a bobber, hooks and fake bait. They fed us grilled hot dogs and cheeseburgers, chips and soda. Great morning. Then we went to my parents home to open the pool. While we were there Colby ran up onto an empty car hauler trailer that was on the lawn. You know the kind that are made with pressure treated board for the floor. Yep, he ran onto it BAREFOOT. He had/has at least 30 splinters in each food :scared1: We took him home and soaked his feet then tried to remove the splinter. We quickly gave up as there were way too many and he was screaming everytime I picked at one. So off to the ER for us. This was at 2 PM and I needed to be at work at 3 PM. I called to say that I would be late. Thankfully the ER was quiet so they saw him quickly. The ER doctor said that he was only going to remove the bigger pieces. The rest will either surface or be absorbed by the body :confused3 He scrubbed his feet and used a scalpul to get a few out. They covered his feet with bacatracin and gauze and home we came. Now we need to soak/scrub his feet several times a day to keep them clean to prevent infection and hopefully to work some more splinters out. We go back on Tuesday for a wound check to make sure that he hasn't gotten infected. Needless to say he cannot walk comfortably. I ended up being 45 minutes late for work. It started slow. I was lucky enough to get a party of 15 (that's the biggest party I've had at once to date). I ended up only doing 25 people, but that's not bad for a sunday night. I came home and had to do the foot scrubbing then read my little angel a book. He has suddenly (thankfully) begun to enjoy being read to. I told him that we should do it everynight :goodvibes Now I'm able to relax for the first time all day.
Poor dear.:grouphug: Lots of :wizard: I hope they don't get infected.:wizard:

Since I have been officially outbid on all of the auctions I was looking at I think I am going to bed! I really didn't need to buy anything from eBay anyway, so it is good that I didn't win anything else.:)

Good night, DDA!
I am tempted to bid on some of those dream ears on ebay as all last fall the boys wanted some but we never won any. DH thinks I'm nuts but my kids love collecting ears and they have the DL golden ones from the 50th a Christmas pair Halloween pair as well as regular ones. Seem they need the dream ones to round things out.:confused3 :rotfl:

Jonathan feels your pain, Tia. Our lawn desperately needs to be mowed (particularly with how much it's grown with all the rain), but it won't dry out long enough for him to do it. As I just saw a Flash Flood Watch for all of today (Monday) scroll across the screen, it doesn't look like it will be happening tomorrow, either!
DH was always happy to have an excuse not to mow the lawn. ;) I'm allergic to grass so I can't. Hopefully it dries out soon so your lawn can be mowed. :)

Hi, Christie! It's good to see you posting, and to hear that your family is doing well. Definitely sounds like you're looking forward to school being out!
Yep, we're excited. It will give me time to plan our Dec. trip I haven't even figured out our ADR's yet. I even started my diet this week and have managed not to attack the ice cream truck man today for driving near my house.

Well, it's off to bed with me. I need to try to get some sleep before this picnic tomorrow - just checking the weather forecast one last time. It definitely doesn't look promising - I hope it either stays away completely, or becomes a total wash-out so we can in good faith cancel it. I'm afraid it will rain just enough to keep our guests away and us all wet, but not enough to warrant throwing all that $$ down the drain. I've packed myself an extra change of clothes, shoes, and beach towels - I'm afraid I could need them tomorrow.

Good night, DDA, and happy Memorial Day! :goodvibes
:wizard: Hope the rain stays away.:)

Vicki - I am so glad that graduation and the party went well. I was also delighted to hear that your brother made it! :)

Deb - sounds as if your day started out well, but POOR Colby! Those splinters sound so painful. I hope they are gone quickly without any further probing by the doctor and no infection.

Good luck today, Lindsay. I hope the picnic comes off withouth a hitch, whether you are able to hold it or not!

Me too, Christie. It is so nice to see you posting here again! :)
