The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 25

Hi all, hope things are well with you all.

I have been up to my eyeballs this past few days. I took the girls on a field trip Friday with school to Marine World (not so fun this year), then worked Sat and Sun at the base. Monday I had a little time to pop in, then that was gone.
Yesterday we went up to Sacramento (45 min away) to have Bethie's 4 hour test growth hormone and they sent us home because she had food. THEY DIDN"T TELL US SHE COULDN"T EAT! (did I say ) So Mark will be taking her back on Friday at 0730 scared1: ) and they should be dont NLT 1130. They gave use a cream to put on her arm so she will be ready to take the IV when she gets in and they can get started straight away.

As far as the Real Estate tests go, I am having trouble with one class and plan to get it done on Friday. Then I just study for the state exam and will take that in June.

The girls are signed up for summer preschool (3.5 hours a day) and they are so happy. I don't know if you have all seen the cool design that people have made for Bethie's theme weeks, but they are FABULOUS!!

Mark is thrilled and thankful I asked the outstanding folks on our DDA to design something for her and her class.

I have to get for now and make some memorial cards for the little boy who passed last week. Mark needs them for a service tomorrow and I am one picky lady so I best get moving.

well the phenergan worked friday night. Felt pretty good sat, sun and mon. except for the ocasional bouts of Nausea. Tues had a class at work. around 1030 I had a mild Headache hit. By 1120 it was a full blown migraine. Took 1 fioricet, and went to pick up Olivia. We took a nap around 230. woke up at 430 the Headache was worse so I took 2 fioricet. all of a sudden I felt very cold. My temp was 100.9 my normal temp is 97.6 so for me it was like having a 101.9 temp. sore throat and my right ear was hurting. We went to after hours clinic to see my primary Dr. They did a strep test waiting for the results before I start the Antibotics. The Headache is just a dull ache. My throat at times feels worse then when I went to the Dr. They did a urine specimen and it was negative for a bladder infection, but I was tender around my bladder last night so the Dr last night wanted me to see my OB today. So I see her at 245 but the pain around my bladder is gone today. . I think my OB is going to think I'm crazy.

I'm so stressing...

One of our neighbors came by today and told us that one of the boys that moved in up the street is a convicted sex offender. He is a 7th grader He has apparently suspected that the kid might have issues, but then another neighbor says that she knows it to be true. He has lived there for several months and I have never had contact with him. They boys said that he rides the bus with them. I'm trying not to over react as it is all hearsay. I would like to know for sure, but I have no idea how to find out. I called the police dept and they said to call the Sex Offender hot line, but I believe that he would not be listed since he is a juvenile and is protected by law. I'm always careful to watch the boys when they are outside, but now I don't want them out of my sight. Friends of our live directly across the street from the boy and they said the he is VERY strange. They are going to make some phone calls and see if they can find anything out. His older siblings go to the high school that my mother works at and she knows them. She said they are a rough bunch. One of the girls got into so much trouble in school that she was placed "somewhere" outside of the family home. We also know that the father got into a fight at the bowling alley and has been banned for life. Great neighbors hey? So my friends WWYD?

Deb - would you consider straight out asking the mother? How about approaching it as something like "this is the rumor going around and I just wanted you to know, so if it isn't true you can put an end to it"? Other than that I would make it clear to the boys that this family is one that they do not want to get involved with, and give them strict guidelines to follow when having contact with them. They just sound like trouble all around. I don't blame you for being worried or concerned.

I'm glad you were able to talk things out. I can understand her feelings too, but it doesn't excuse her juvenile behavior. It is going to be a very emotional time for all of you.

It looks like another slow day here. Everyone must be enjoying the nice weather. I certainly have plenty to do here. I think I'm feeling better though I still have NO energy. I really need to get our camping gear dried out while the sun is shining. I've also got plenty of laundry to do. I have managed to get the cub scout order together for submission. I had to as we need it for June 2nd. Hunter's concert is at 6:30 tonight.

Good morning..almost afternoon...

Katie's home sick. She is feeling better but the antibiotics she is on is giving her tummy trouble so I let her stay home. She slept in the playroom which is the room rearest the potty.
Daniel has a ballgame tonight which I hope we can get him too. Not sure if Katie can make it there for a few hours & Dana's in meetings all day.
Did anyone watch the POTC3 premiere on tv channel last night? It was ok but needed more of JD!

Is Katie taking Augmentin? That is notorious for upsetting tummies. I hope she feels better soon!

Our friend who has MS drove his truck into a tree this morning.This is the truck they just put a new engine in. He really managed to beat the truck up and his face. He also wasn't thinking and left the scene and then, after delivering the rest of his route, went into the station to report it. So he is facing 8 points on his license and dental work up the ying yang and a wrecked vehicle.

I hope he gets things straightened out!

That baby better behave when it comes out of there for all the trouble it has caused so far!

i went to the interview today and didnt get the position but i am glad. it was selling insurance and it was 100% commissioned based and i would of had to get licensed. the only up side would be i could have made a 6 figure salary. it was a very short interview but it wasnt like my first one where i felt like they didnt wanna hire me because of my disability. now my car is broken. my lift will not work so now it has to go to the shop and glamour shots wants to interview me but i cant until next week and they have 3 people they need to hire by monday. GRRRRRRRRR

Well, first of all, I would try to keep it in perspective. "Sex offender" encompasses A LOT of behaviors, so you shouldn't panic. Second, I would ask the neighbor who told you about the boy exactly where the info came from. I don't know if the info is protected since he is a juvenile, but it could be. Beyond that, just make sure to reinforce with your boys that nobody should ever ask them to do anything that makes them uncomfortable and so forth. I wouldn't tell them to avoid that boy specifically, just remind them that some kids are not really suitable friends. Good luck!!




So. I went in this morning and had this big long note from Momboss. Note says that they need me to delay starting my new job because they are going out of town without the kids and they need me to do 24 hour duty the first 3 days I am supposed to be working for my new bosses. EXCUSE ME? 1) This trip was NEVER mentioned to me, EVER. 2) Overtime is OPTIONAL, and I never agreed to do any overnights at the end of June! 3) My notice runs out the 22 of June and I don't work for them after that!
Note goes on to say that I really need to push my new job to a July 1 start date because that's when I said it was starting. Um, no, that was a DIFFERENT family! I told Dadboss I will do the overnights, but I will NOT drop off or pick up the kids from camp. That is a job for the NEW NANNY. If they aren't comfortable having the new nanny do the daytime hours then they need to cancel the trip.
Momboss calls this afternoon to make sure I read the note. Yep, I read it, and I will NOT ask for a delayed start. So then she says I can't go do my orientation mornings. Hello? I was going to be OFF those mornings for COMP time. Hours that I have already worked and NOT been paid for. So if I am OFF she can't dictate where I go. By the end of my notice they will owe me 56 hours of pay if they don't allow me to have some of that time off. I am not supposed to have to work while the kids are in camp. So if they decide I can't use comp time the week the kids are at camp are they going to take turns sitting in the house with me to make sure I don't go anywhere? What if I call in sick? They can dock me for the day, but they will still owe me 50-odd hours of pay at the end! So now I am waiting for Dadboss to step in again. It is like being a referree for toddlers. I wonder if he is getting tired of it yet?
I went over to my new bosses tonight to do some paperwork and I told them my current boss could possibly contact them directly to argue about start date. There is no negotiation here - new job on June 25, period, the end. I will not have Momboss jeopardize my new job for some trip I never agreed to cover!

I have no idea who the mother is. As more information trickles in it sounds like there are 4 or 5 kids aged 7th grade thru high school there. They all appear to be in trouble to some degree even if just at school. It is definitely not a family that I want my boys hanging around with. I plan to follow up with the state tomorrow to see if I can get any concrete information. I think our friends that live directly across the street have much more to be concerned with. Maybe they will feel comfortable talking to the family, though given the father's history of violence that may not be a good idea. My kids have been told they must stick to the buddy system when outside and they are aware of our concerns.

Elizabeth I am sorry to hear about the problems with mom boss. I was really hoping things would go smoothly for you during the rest of your time. Hopefully dad boss will get things straightened out again.

Thanks for the advice. I've talked to the boys and they know that they need to be cordial to the boy, but he is not allowed over and they can only play with him if there is an adult present. It would really only come up if they boys were at the neighborhood park anyway. They are not to discuss this with any of the other kids as we don't know if it is real or a hoax. Rumors have not spread in this neighborhood during the 10 years we've been here so I hold credence in that. Also knowing some of the family history now I would be afraid of retaliation. So now we just leave well enough alone and keep our distance. God willing we will be able to protect our family from any dangers and I'm sure they will surface from time to time. I guess it's all part of life. Thanks for letting me rant tonight.

I bet you aren't the first pregnant lady to have these symptoms...I also bet your OB would rather hear from you than not espescially if you don't feel good. Please take care of yourself.

well she said she would have gone in with that temp as well. The strep test was negative.

My OB did not like that I had blood and bacteria in my urine at all. So she is doing a urine culture. She said that my urine looked cloudy. So it will be a couple of days before we know any thing. at least the migraine is gone.

Tammi-you look beautiful! Alyssa is adorable!

It was such an amazing experience. Emma and Molly loved "seeing" their baby sister. Even Eric thought it was "cool" Which says a lot because he just doesn't get excited until the baby is actually here. I think it has something to do with the fact everytime he has tried to feel any of the girls moving they immediately stopped when he put his hand on my belly.

We had another death at one of our high schools. The senior was going to his last day of school.....and died skitching (hitching a ride on a car while skateboarding) a dumb move...but our schools have had so much death and threats....summer can't come soon enough for me.

I had a strange encounter today....we went into Wendy's (I will be thrilled when our kitchen is completely together!!!) and I noticed a woman who looked very familiar. We're ordering and she comes up to me......asks if I was in her choir at Euclid.....turns out it was my junior high choir teacher!!

We sit down to dinner and Cassidy says....guess you haven't changed much mom

Welcome home, Jen!

I just went to buy gift cards for DS's teachers. Tomorrow is the last day of school and I realized I didn't have anything for them! They had their awards today. The video montage wasn't too long, but the photos weren't the best. DS wasn't even in it, except for in the class photo. I bought him a yearbook instead.

DS got a perfect score on the Science TAKS! We are so proud of him!! He also got commended performance in Math and Reading. His other awards were Outstanding Performance in Reading, Art, and Science, as well as a citizenship award that was voted on by his peers.
