Aurora is not impressed. Hopefully she will change her mind in the next few weeks!
OMG....she is so cute!!!!

Here's after picture.

Put skirting on shed. (hard to see with the ramp)
Added a ramp on shed. (no more huge step up)
Landscape edge on the sides of shed.
Made a fence to block path between shed & fence.
No more kids cutting through the yard.
Put down landscape fabric.
Pine bark nuggets.
Terra cotta sun, plant hanger, windchime on shed.
Shephards hook with cutter candle.
This area is next to the patio with the swing.
So it's a much nicer view when we sit outside.
Much easier to use the shed.
It was a lot of work.
Love how the finished project looks.
I may add a boardwalk from the ramp to the patio later.
Nice job (as usual) Jo!!!

Our countdown to Disney has begun. Each day we take off a Mickey paint chip to count down the days. (these have been recycled from last time so no more trees were harmed to make this.:lmao: )

Cute idea! You've reminded me that in double digits too.

Update on Aidan

Happy Mother's Day all! We got to see our boy today and were slightly surprised. It seems he may be coming down with an infection, however first test results were negative. Yesterday he was quite discontent and they had to give him a little oxygen assistance. He is still on the Nasal Canuala today. I am asking for specific prayers that the Doctor's will still continue with the surgery plans and operate on Tuesday and that this infection if present not interfere with those plans.

We want our boy home and the longer they postpone, the greater the chance of continued infections.
Thanks for the update Becky. My prayers remain with Aidan, Mac & family.

We went to my MIL's today and I left DH & kids there and went to see my mom. I wasnt up for taking my kids with me as she doesn't always seem to know me. She actually seemed really great today. She didn't really call me by name but at least pretended she knew me very well.

I haven't seen my sisters in a while so it was great to see them.

Debbie - love the pirate design!

Elizabeth - I'm so happy you finally got your kitty. She is so adorable. I miss those kitten days.

Jen - Did your brother make it to your graduation?

Jo - the yard and shed look great. I don't know where you find the energy. Could you give me a hint?

I had a really nice day. The kids gave me my presents this morning before breakfast. There were several nice homemade gifts and cards that came from preschool and school. Then there was one that their dad got for them to give to me. It was a glass egg Christmas ornament, painted red and green like Christmas, and when you open it up it plays Silent Night. So I'm guessing he shopped the clearance rack at Hallmark or he re-gifted something. I can't wait for Father's Day. I just recently got my Lillian Vernon catalogue that had a whole mess of Halloween items on sale! :lmao: :lmao:

After that we went to Mass and came home and has lunch. Bob came over an gave me a present..........he mowed my lawn for me!!!! Then he took us all out to dinner to a nice little seafood place along the Potomac River (and no, not Tim's, Elin). It's actually over in Maryland. It was a buffet, along with crab legs. They were so yummy. It was a good day.

:grouphug: for those of you feeling blue.

Jen - Did your brother make it to your graduation?
.

No--he worked..He got a picture with me before he left for work..He also came out for appetizers for a half hour before his game that night...
He felt bad that he missed it, and he would have been bored out of his mind..As much as i wanted him there, im glad he wasnt bored. My aunt rita came with us instead and it was great having her there!

my brother did get me an awesome gift--disney dollars!

Trip report-
Just a quick reminder of the cast of characters:
me, my friend (we went to WDW together in Dec 2001), her SIL and her 3 nieces ages 22, 9 and 7.

As I said previously, we all made it to the airport in plenty of time. Our flight was late leaving Logan-not sure why. We made up the time in flight but then got put in a holding patern in Orlando due to thunder storms in the area. We got right on the bus at ME and were soon off to Pop.

Check in was fine. We were assigned adjoining rather than connecting rooms but were happy with the 4th floor, lake side location in the Tramp building. The CM at checkin said I had a few packages waiting. I had ordered 3 cases of water but 1 was damaged so the resort refused that 1 case. I also had my package from minimus and would order from them again. The CM suggested I get a luggage cart from luggage services and when I got back with that the CM had my water, minimus package and a very nice surprise from a coworker:

Our rooms were ready so we dropped off our carry on bags. I noticed the light on the switch was out so I called about that. We went to have a quick bite to eat at the food court. I went back to the room to get something for my camera and saw the repair man leaving our room when I was walking up and the ME bags arrived while I was there. So really great service.

We went to MK since it was EMH and open til midnight. I had to renew my AP (with a 1 day pass and that worked fine). I also got Joe's AP fixed. I had purchased his in Dec with a 1 day pass from last Aug and it was showing an Aug expire date instead of Dec. That took a couple of minutes but I really wanted to get it done in May instead of waiting til August so I was happy to have Joe's new pass.

When we arrived around 8:30 Main St was way too crowded to even try to move so we just stayed there to watch the fireworks.

Everyone LOVED wishes and we made our way toward the castle to enjoy a few rides.

DSC01229.jpg

The line for the wrist bands was one of the longest all trip. We rode Pirates, Jungle Cruise, BTMR and Small World (maybe a few others-didn't take notes....). The young girls had never done any thrill rides and LOVED them. Their Mom HATED BTMR so we all knew she wouldn't do any more on the trip. We left MK around 11:50 and the line for the bus was sooooo long-waayyy past the roped area and nearly up to the first bus stop even when ours was the last.....BUT.....they started sending 2 or 3 busses at a time and we were on our way back to Pop in 20 minutes.

Pop at night is really cool!

I'm in the bittersweet camp with some of the others for whom Mother's Day is a hard day. So I decided we needed some levity!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I think I'm giving my Dad the prize for the most original Mother's Day gift. He took his wife to go see Rod Stewart. Yes, my 90+ year old Dad was at a rock concert. They spent the night at the casino, rested awhile, dined, napped and watched the concert.

They really like Rod Stewart, and said the concert was nice. For some reason, this just makes me smile. :hippie:  :) :cool1:

Thanks. No rain, that's good. I was wondering if you had any because the extended forcast keep calling for afternoon storms.

Speaking of storms, we are having one roll over us right now. The satellite just went out, so no tv for me. I hope it doesn't wake up the kids.

That storm was nasty! It blew the surge protector on my computer peripherals and the battery backup started beeping like crazy. It also messed up our router so my computer is the only one with internet access. Yesterday morning I was on the phone for 45 minutes with Cox and then another 15 with the Security Suite people before we finally determined that it is the router that is causing the dis-connect. Looks like this morning I will be calling Linksys to see if it is repairable or if we need to purchase a new router!

Tom - loved the pictures of Leighanna and her Mother's Day Egg Hunt! She is so pretty and grown up. Wow!

Marci - sounds like you had a full day of sports. I am glad the guys played well.

I hope everyone has a great Mother's day, I always seem to get in a "funk" on Mother's day since my mom passed away. I'll do my best not to let my family know as they are trying to make the day special for me, but I am in tears as I type this, I miss her so very much.

I completely understand how you feel, Debbie. I picked up the phone twice yesterday to call my Mom before I realized there was no one there to talk to.

But, my children and Bob made my day very nice, so that helped a lot.

Debbie - your T-shirt design is adorable!

Jen - pictures from graduation are terrific. I love the last one too.

Jo - wow! the side yard looks great. Well done! I am glad you all are getting some much needed rain.

Becky - I hope the volunteer situation is better today. Makes no sense to me to turn down the help of such a dedicated worker like you!

Glynis - sounds like you had a great day yesterday.

Anne Marie - I LOVE your idea for a countdown!

Elizabeth - pretty kitty!!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

And a belated HAPPY MOTHER's DAY to my friends. I cannot believe I did not get on here at all yesterday to say that. Sounds like most of you had great days. :)

Morning DDA! I'm not sure if I did the same, so Happy Mothers Day!!! (We can celebrate for everyone today too Elin - mothers definately deserve more than one day a year!)

Good morning, DDA!

Arabella does not like to go to bed. I put her in the bathroom at 9:25 PM and she meowed and meowed until I took her back out. I put her back in there at 10:25 and she was quiet. Until 12:45 AM. So then we locked Aurora out of our bedroom and let Arabella out of the bathroom. DH put Arabella in the bathroom when he left at 2:30 AM and she was quiet until I got up at 6:45. She LOVES her canned food, and she finally made a poo in her litter box this morning so she seems to be in working order. It is like having a newborn. We have to watch what goes in, what comes out, get up with her in the night. Madness, I tell you!;)

I thought I had the perfect gift for your kids to give their Dad, but alas I can't find it. It is a brand new nose hair clipper set purchased on clearance after christmas a few years ago in the pretty Christmas packaging :rotfl: :rotfl: If I find it I will definitely send it along.
