Well, Brother and I are back from the vet. My kitty died today.:sad1: I am so sad. Brother said to me "What are you doing with your eyes?!" He has never seen me cry, because I never cry about anything. But this I can't NOT cry about. I told him I am sad about Amanda. All the way home he kept saying "Are you happy now? Are you happy now?" The vet's office was wonderful. They will call us when they get her remains back.

Now Brother is sitting on my couch watching Dora. He doesn't understand what happened - I just told him Amanda is sick and has to stay with the vet. I told Momboss we were going to the vet's, and she asked me not to tell Brother why we were going. Fair enough. Brother will miss her. He loves to come to my house to "pat 'Manda". Aurora doesn't let him pat her, so he will miss Amanda a lot.:guilty:

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty.

I'm not sure. I need to decide soon though!

Ah you just couldn't wait!!! Me neither! I am ordering them tonight. 5 P&PP tickets & 1 MNSSHP. I am broke too! Janet, are you getting an AP or just MYW day tickets? I still haven't figured out if I need an AP or can get by with day tickets.

Sorry I haven't been on much lately, just keeping busy at home mostly. I have been doing a lot of sewing, and taking a photography class one night a week, on top of working. Also, we finally got to babysit our granddaughter on Sunday, so that was a real treat!

Prayers and PD for all that need it. Especially to Tia and family for the loss of your grandma, and to Elizabeth and family on the passing of your dear kitty. I'm so sorry.  to you both.

Sorry if I missed anyone else, I tried skimming, hopefully I didn't miss anything too important.

 Hi, Ellen! I think I'd like to take a photography class, too. I took several more than 16 years ago, and even had a simple dark room set-up. Now, I'd like to be able to do more with my digital camera than I currently can. I'm glad that you are having fun with your granddaughter!

Cassidy is excited to be getting her own room....even if it's the smallest.

Abi asks daily if after talking to the dr. when she can get a pet!!

Maybe a Devon Rex kitten.
They are great pets for people with allergies.
They are also very smart.
Boo plays fetch, meets us @ the door, comes when called by name.
:cat:

I would plan on something lightweight. The last 2 years I have went the 1st week of Oct. & it has been very warm.

I talked to Chuck last night about costumes for the MNSSHP. He wanted to make a Daniel Boone costume for himself. How hot is it in the evening in October? We are talking about using some kind of light brown cotton material but I want to make sure it won't be too warm for him wearing long pants. Then there is the situation of whether I think I should match him or just make a costume that I'd like to wear.

Well you know, if there is a will, there is a way :goodvibes

You know we would love to have you join us!

You all are making me sad.....Jimmy and I were discussing that I could go...then we got the house....so it's now out of my budget...though I do keep looking. :rotfl:

But I am happy that so many of you do get to go!! You all are going to have so much fun!!

/
If she did, I don't remember getting up. :confused3

Robyn - I'm glad you finally got some sleep!

I'm sorry to hear about Amanda. She will be greatly missed. I am glad that you had a bit of good news today too. Hopefully things are turning around for you.

Thanks, Deb.

I don't have any advice, Robyn, but big :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you, Eric, and the girls. That is so sad. I certainly hope Baba made it safely to Canada.

What a terrible way for things to be! I am sorry she didn't take the time to say proper good-byes, at least to the children! I hope you do hear from her.

i am sorry elizabeth about amanda. im gonna tell ya what a friend of mine told me when my cat died that comforted me. just think she is sitting in God's lap and enjoying his company while waiting for you. i did rabbit rabbit for us last night.

I will take a picture of my haircut tomorrow. i look like a poodle my dad said lol because my hair is so thick that it poofs out by my ears. lol

hopefully tomorrow at this time i can say i am in the working world.

Thanks, Karen. I hope our wish works for both of us!:wizard: I think if God's lap is full then MIL will welcome Amanda. When she passed away I think she had 11 cats.

The Mother's Day Tea at preschool went well today. The kids kind of sang and signed their songs, though I think there was more of me singing than them. I tried to keep it quiet, because I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but they needed to be able to hear me or they would have all been on different parts of the songs.

I forgot my camera today, but I don't know that I would have had the time to take any pictures anyway.

We made placemats, place cards, centerpieces, and a few things to hang on the walls in class the last few weeks. The mothers all loved them. I made little tiny lemon cut-out cookies, chocolate chip cookies with M&M's, and chocolate-dipped/sprinkled Oreos, and a fruit plate. My assistant teacher made mini muffins. I also had lemonade, juice, and iced tea. It wasn't anything fancy, but I think they all enjoyed it. I'm just glad that I get to check one more thing off of my list. I spent a good deal of my day baking yesterday, and it took me more than 1-1/2 hours to set-up, decorate, and prepare the fruit plate last night.

Beth

I remember the preschool Mother's Day brunch.:goodvibes It was one of my favorites.

It is HOT, or it was when we went in 2005. I am always FREEZING, but I was perfectly fine in a long sleeve T and shorts. DS nearly roasted in his pirate costume, but he refused to take it off.

I just ordered my Pirate & Princess Party tickets for the 5 of us on 8/24!!!!!!!!!pirate: princess:

And my ticket for MNSSHP with the DDA on 10/18!!!!!!!!!:hmghost: :maleficen

Congrats!! I called and ordered our P&P tickets today.

Thank you all so much for all of the good wishes on my job and for the condolences on the loss of Amanda. Sister started to cry in the middle of dinner. I told her Amanda wasn't going to be coming back, and that I was very sad. She thought about it for awhile, then a little tear slid down her cheek. So we both cried for a bit. I will miss Brother and Sister so very much when this job ends.:sad1:

:woohoo: :woohoo:

This trip is really taking form!

Did you guys hear that ALL WDW hotels (owned by Disney) will be SMOKE FREE by June 1, 2007? That was in my AllEars newsletter today. That is terrific news, I just hope I never get stuck with a room that was previously "smoking optional" that still smells of smoke!

Im home form dinner but headed to bed...I probably wont be around too much tomorrow night..my best friend will be coming over right after work and he will probably stay all day/night..so who knows if ill get back...have a great night/day!

Please no one take this the wrong way, you know I love ya all!

I do think the subject of smoking is a very touchy one & for those that do not smoke I know this news is music to your ears. But please keep in mind that some do smoke & this is something that is probably best not discussed here.

Please don't be upset with me!

Woo Hoo. How are the trip preparations going? :wizard: :wizard: That you get it all done.
Work seems OK right now. I've finished the Year End forecast using Quarter 1 results, I did the April sales reports today. I still need to do a sales variance anlysis and I need to wrap up a big project of getting rid of excess inventory. No wonder I like my escape from reality. :rotfl:

I've packed my clothes but nothing else. I was trying to decide if I should try to take my tripod as a carryon. I called both JetBlue and TSA and both said it would be OK but a few folks on the photography board have said I will not get it past security. I've decided just to put it in my checked bag and use my Gorilla Pod the first night. I was hoping to get some nice shots of the fireworks on my birthday but it isn't worth stressing about.

My friend's SIL still hasn't come to her senses about skipping the photos on the day of our flight. The flights out after ours are up to as much as $234 one way and we paid $114 so it would cost her $120 times the 4 of them plus $30 per person to change or $600 if she misses the plane. :scared1: AND they wouldn't get in til after 9pm. What a way to start a trip.

The tickers are back!!! Only 80 days left for us :goodvibes I think I'd better call and get my P&P tickets. I also need our PAPs. Looks like I'll be spending a ton of money  If I do it today I should have the Disney Dollars credited to my Visa Card before the trip :thumbsup2
Have you ordered your rewards card yet? You can get a rewards card with the minimum-I think $20 and then call closer to your trip to add the rest. The rewards are available nearly immediately after you call. I called at the airport one time. You earn the rewards as soon as they send you the bill-you don't have to wait until the bill is paid to earn the rewards.

  Good Morning DDA!!!!
Congratulations!!!!

Hi, everyone - did you miss me? :goodvibes

Got back from Kauai Saturday afternoon - we had a fabulous, relaxing time, and most definitely did not want to come back. Unfortunately, we definitely couldn't live on our paltry savings over there, so back to Dallas we went. :sad1:

Spent the rest of the weekend unpacking, trying to adjust back to the time difference, and picking up my dog from my parents. Yesterday was consumed with trying to wade through all my e-mails from work - ugh. Thank goodness there was an e-mail in there from DU with the information that the MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets were going on sale today! :yay: At least it was a little something Disney to brighten my day! I was up at the crack of dawn this a.m. to book our tickets for both parties, and secure a reservation at LTT for our party of 16 :faint: . I'm going to have to try to change it once all the times become available at the 180-day mark, but at least we have something set! It's definitely making the trip more real. :thumbsup2

So, what's been going on? I have no clue as to how many pages I'm behind, and don't know if/when I'll have a chance to catch up. Can anyone supply a Cliff Notes version, pretty please? :goodvibes
Welcome home! Sounds like a great trip. Would love to see pretty pictures. Congrats on the party tickets.

I'm so sorry!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

When I got to work this morning Momboss said she spoke to Dadboss and he told her his understanding of our agreement is the same as mine - I get Wednesdays off permanently. So if I have to work Mondays and Wednesdays over the summer they owe those mornings back to me the weeks the kids are in camp. Momboss said Dadboss told her he had no idea how she got so confused, but what I was saying about the schedule was correct. So that's nice, and that gives me hope that my vacation will be paid even if I don't work any more days beyond Aug. 10. Dadboss is very fair about business, so I trust him to honor our agreements.
:woohoo: That is very good news.

Well rested!! I went upstairs about 8:30 last night and promptly passed out. I think I slept the entire night through which should go into the record books!! Thanks for asking.
That is great!

I need some advice from all of you.

Eric's grandmother, Baba, who I love dearly, up and left on Sunday. Things have not been good between her and my inlaws for quite some time. From the information I have which is spotty, her brother, who lives in Canada, called her on Sunday and she was complaining about the situation here. He told her to get to Dulles for a 5pm flight and she could move in with his daughter, her niece. Well she is 88 yrs old, doesn't drive and Dulles is in VA. From what I understand, Eric's dad, her son, took her to BWI and dropped her off. He was starting a new job that night so driving to Dulles was out of the question. At this point, I don't think Baba had a plane ticket. I can't imagine dropping my mom or dad off at an airport at that age and leaving her there with no real plan, but that's another story. Eric and I have not heard from her and honestly don't expect to. I think she is mad at us as well. There is so much drama involved in this whole situation that it would literally take me days to explain. We offered to have her move in with us but Eric's parent's shot that down. And I am angry at them for the way they treated her. Especially Eric's mom. She is it's her way or the highway and them 2 together is oil and water. The crap I've heard is beyond ridiculous.

Now the question is how do I tell Emma that her Baba has left and we probably won't hear from her again. It will break her heart. They are very close. Molly, while she loves Baba, really won't understand. Eric is devastated that she left like she did, even though he understands. I am sad too as I loved spending time with her and that she won't be here to see her new great granddaughter. She is the only one member of Eric's family that treated me as I was a real member of the family.

Any advice?
So sorry!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I talked to Chuck last night about costumes for the MNSSHP. He wanted to make a Daniel Boone costume for himself. How hot is it in the evening in October? October can be VERY hot!

Hey Crazy Lady (yes, that means you Theresa), do you have time to make/print scrapbook pages before your trip? If not, would the girls enjoy having them? If so, I'll take care of printing them for you. Between Bernadette, Clare's and my pages, I could print out quite a few for you. What size would you want? I think mine & Clare's are 6x4.
Vicky-I emailed you my file. Mine are 6x4 that I printed on blank index cards. They are only about $1 for a package of 100 at Walmart and even cheaper if you buy 500 at Staples.

Sorry I haven't been on much lately, just keeping busy at home mostly. I have been doing a lot of sewing, and taking a photography class one night a week, on top of working. Also, we finally got to babysit our granddaughter on Sunday, so that was a real treat!

Do we get to see photos of your projects?

I just ordered my Pirate & Princess Party tickets for the 5 of us on 8/24!!!!!!!!!pirate: princess:

Congrats!

I'm not sure. I need to decide soon though!
Do you need a financial analyst to help calculate it for you?;) How many days for each trip? Are you doing a package in December with the meal plan?

I don't have any advice, Robyn, but big :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you, Eric, and the girls. That is so sad. I certainly hope Baba made it safely to Canada.

Wow. What a tough situation. I don't have much advice, but I can give you lots of hugs.

Maybe you could tell Emma that Baba is going to be living with her niece for a while so they could get to know each other. Make sure you stress that Baba still loves Emma, and that it would be good for Emma to write a letter to Baba to let her know that she is still loved, and missed (by you guys, at least).

Good luck!

I like Glynis's idea!! I can only offer more hugs and prayers. What a tough situation. :guilty:

Robyn,

Until you know for sure where she is and if she is okay, just say that she has gone to visit for a while and you are not sure when she will be back.
That way, if she contacts you, you could talk. If she does not contact you in a few months, and Emma still asks, then you could tell her that sometimes relatives go thru times of stress and hurtful situations and she had nothing to do with it but she probably will not see her for a long, long time. Hopefully you might be able to correspond with her and that might help Emma.
At least you will have talked with Emma and she will feel comfortable with your answers.

I wish I had some good advice. I do have some     for you, though.

I guess I would explain to Emma that Baba needed to go spend some time with other relatives that she hasn't had a chance to see much of. Tell Emma that Baba still loves her a lot but just couldn't stay nearby right now. Can she write/call Baba? Will Baba respond well to her? A few more     .

Robyn I have no advice, just wanted to give you some

Thank you all for the advice and the hugs. We just talked to Eric's dad and Baba called today so at least we know she is alive. She didn't say too much but I'm happy to know she's alright. I will wait until the weekend to talk to Emma as I don't want to stress her out. She is a very emotional kid and it breaks my heart sometimes when she verbalizes to me the things she worries about. Some of it is the silliest stuff but it gets to her.

Wow! It feels like I've been gone for weeks! You guys were really chatty all weekend. I had a really nice weekend with my family. My cousin was married on Saturday morning, and it was really nice. Her mother (my favorite aunt) passed away 2 years ago, so it was really emotional. It was hard on my uncle to see his youngest get married, and it was really hard on Robyn not to have her mom there with her. Lots of tears, both happy and sad, were shed.

I did get to spend lots of time with my parents and my siblings! That was wonderful! On Friday night, I went to a concert where my niece, Marina, was a guest soloist with the community orchestra. She is quite an accomplished pianist, and it was so wonderful to see her shine! She is only 15, but is so poised and beautiful when she plays. It was very cool!!! There was another soloist who played a double Bass solo, and he was INCREDIBLE!!! His bio said that he has been playing the violin since he was 18 months old!!!!!!! Wow!!!

Sunday was spent trying to reclaim my house after all the houseguests left. I hate that part of it! Oh well! We cleaned and then rewarded ourselves by watching Night at the Museum. Darling movie, and the kids really liked it! After they went to bed, Alan and I watched The Holiday. I can see why you guys recommended it. It was so cute! I don't usually like Jack Black, but he was really good!

I spent yesterday babysitting 5 nieces and nephews, while their big sister got her wisdom teeth pulled. By the end of the day, I was ready to tear my hair out! One of them smacked my dog on the head because she was barking, and it threw Cozy into a stroke. I was so angry. Donny was in time out for 2 hours for that one! Luckily, Cozy seems to be ok. She is getting quite old, so I know that we are in for more strokes, or worse.

Today, I'm babysitting 2 other nephews, and then I'll take all the kids to Katie's Hope of America program. I hate all the end of year stuff the elementary school does! We never have time to just relax!!! Oh well. Only 3 more weeks of school and then on June 2nd, we start the drive to Disneyland!!!

Sounds like a lovely weekend. Eric and I loved The Holiday. Glad to hear Cozy is ok.

i am sorry elizabeth about amanda. im gonna tell ya what a friend of mine told me when my cat died that comforted me. just think she is sitting in God's lap and enjoying his company while waiting for you. i did rabbit rabbit for us last night.

I will take a picture of my haircut tomorrow. i look like a poodle my dad said lol because my hair is so thick that it poofs out by my ears. lol

hopefully tomorrow at this time i can say i am in the working world.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

i know! im so close--next friday :cool1: im ready!

It was fun observing other classes!! Tomorrow, im back to my room because my kids were all upset--they thought i didnt "love them anymore" because i went to other rooms..they are developmental so it was hard for them ..so im back to my room for the next 3 days--but boy, is this week DRAGGING!

Glad to hear you had a good day. How cute about your kids. And I agree w/ everyone else that you are a fantastic teacher.

The Mother's Day Tea at preschool went well today. The kids kind of sang and signed their songs, though I think there was more of me singing than them. I tried to keep it quiet, because I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but they needed to be able to hear me or they would have all been on different parts of the songs.

Beth

That sound's like a wonderful day Beth. I loved all the little thingslike Emma's preschool did. What a great teacher you are!!

Sorry I haven't been on much lately, just keeping busy at home mostly. I have been doing a lot of sewing, and taking a photography class one night a week, on top of working. Also, we finally got to babysit our granddaughter on Sunday, so that was a real treat!

Hi, good to see you around. So happy for you that you got some babysitting time with your DGD.

Robyn - I'm glad you finally got some sleep!

Thanks Elizabeth! Oh, what a little sweetheart. Here's another

Good night all! I will finish catching up tomorrow!

Please no one take this the wrong way, you know I love ya all!

I do think the subject of smoking is a very touchy one & for those that do not smoke I know this news is music to your ears. But please keep in mind that some do smoke & this is something that is probably best not discussed here.

Please don't be upset with me!

I'm sorry! I am not upset with you at all! I wasn't trying to step on any toes! DS has reactive airway (similar to asthma) so we always have to make sure to get a guarantee of non-smoking.

For families with a smoker it will be a huge inconvenience to not have the option of a smoking room, especially since they are saying the "no smoking" also applies to balconies and so forth.

Wow. What a tough situation. I don't have much advice, but I can give you lots of hugs.

I was going to say something like this too, Robyn... but Glynis said it so well I am just quoting her. :grouphug:
