Yay for the Disney money! :thumbsup2

I feel like I made headway on this rainy day. It was very slow at work, but between Wednesday and Tonight I made my weekly Disney savings goal so all is good.

Do the pins have the Disney stamp on the back? Sorry to hear this happened, can you still trade them?

DH and I are still trying to sort out the pin fiasco. I am pretty sure that 2 entire lots we bought are fakes, for a total of 60 pins.:sad2:

No big plans this weekend. Would have been nice to have a job interview or 2, but that didn't happen. Weather is supposed to be nice so maybe DS and I will go do something. :)

Thanks for the prayers everyone. You hate to admit things like this, but Meme was by far my favorite grandparent. I was her first grandchild and she always took time to tell me that I had a special place in her heart. It may be a long day, but I'm doing okay. I had a rough night's sleep between the heartache and a small-town motel bed. Today, I have to tell Terra about Meme and I don't know how I'm going to get through that.

We are headed out to the lake to help set up for the wedding in a little while so at least we'll all be busy. The wedding family is not related, but the bride's parents have known mine for so long that they were close to my grandma as well.

Terra and I may stay on in OK for a little while, depending on what is needed there. Since we have no committments at home, I want to be available if needed. My computer access may be sporadic, but I'll pop in when I can.

Thank you all! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Steffy - I am sure you are gone by now, but your DGD is in my thoughts. I can't even imagine how hard this must be for here :grouphug:

Tia, :grouphug: you and your family will be in my prayers.

Today the kids have 2 friend birthday parties, then we have my neices birthday later this afternoon, & tonight Daniel has a ballgame.

Sunday all we have is soccer & then errands.

Have a great weekend DDA!

Good morning DDA!

You know it is spring when you wake up to the sounds of lawn mowers

Good morning, DDA!

Do the pins have the Disney stamp on the back? Sorry to hear this happened, can you still trade them?

Yes, they all have the Disney stamp. The problem is the info stamped on the back isn't what it is supposed to be so we know they aren't really legitimate pins. I am sure the CMs would accept them as traders because they look fine, but I don't want to trade off pins that we KNOW aren't what they appear to be. Then there is the problem of coming home with a bunch of fakes because everyone else is out there trading them! DH says maybe we can give them away to little kids on the buses, but then we would have to explain to the parents that the pins can NOT be traded. That sounds like it would become labor intensive. I don't know what we're going to do.:confused3

Tammi & Stephanie - I hope you and your families have magical days!!!:wizard:

Elin - Your trip sounds lovely!:goodvibes

I have not been productive so far..i have NOTHING i have to do today so im still in my pjs! i may go shopping later for stuff for my coooperating teacher sincen ext week is my LAST WEEK :) other than that, i have a fefeling ill be here for awhile!

I have another sty in my eye! I was just thinking that my vision seems to be better lately, then up pops this stupid thing!
I am babysitting again tonight - not for my bosses. I had 3 different families ask me to sit. I turned down the first 2, but by the time the 3rd family called I figured I might as well do it!:rotfl: The first call I got was to help another nanny watch some kids from out of town. No thanks! The second was to watch 3 little ones I have never met before, ages 5, 3, & 1. No thanks! The third call was a family from the preschool that I have sat for in the past, so I agreed to sit for them. I like them, and their kids are sweet. Their DD is in Brother's class.
Sister had her first belt test at Taekwondo this morning. She was excited, so I hope she got a stripe for her belt!:)

Elin - Your trip sounds lovely!:goodvibes

Thanks, Elizabeth! I wish I had something definitive to say about your pins, but.... I looked at a bunch of my pins that I purchased only at WDW and the marks on the backs are sometimes different. How can you tell they are fakes?

I would think if a CM accepts the pin then it would be OK to trade them with CMs. We are not pin traders, so maybe that is not an acceptable practice? :confused3 I would also think it would then be up to WDW to determine if the pins are legitimate.

I'm so sorry, but I don't have time to catch up. :sad2:

Elizabeth.  On the plus side, I hated to commute. I commuted at least 45 minutes each way for 12 years. It gets old fast. I hope you find the perfect roly-poly baby 5 minutes from your home...

Thank you! I almost forgot my Crocs!!!

I received 3 wonderful emails from Disney.:cloud9:  :cloud9:

I hope my family enjoys their trip. My DD lamented that to get to Kona Cafe, she will have to take the bus and then take the monorail instead of just walking up the walkway. No towel animals. No Mousekeeping. Boo hiss DVC. No monorail. No TTC. When are we eating at Sci-fi? Primetime? I didn't make reservations at either.

edited.. I think it is all misplaced anger. One of my DGD's classmates died today. The funeral will be held while we're in Disney. His brother is one of DGD's best friends. She is devasted. I think the best thing we could do for her is to take her to his home tomorrow before we leave and let them comfort each other. He obviously didn't come to school today, and the thought that she won't see him this horrific week, is killing her spirit.

Well, I guess i better get to sleep. I leave for Disney today!!!:dance3:

How sad. I hope that your DGD got to see him before leaving. Prayers for your DGD & her friends family.

Good Morning Heidi,

I thought I'd post a couple of Zoo pics before I head out to work.

I don't know what kind of bird this is but he didn't mind posing for a picture:

This was Brandon's favorite thing, feeding the Giraffes, he thought it was funny the way they stuck out their tongue.

What a cutie you have there!

So I had a friend ask me yesterday how I felt about the whole house buying process. I told her no matter the outcome I never, ever want to go through this ever again!!!:headache:

I just got off the phone with Jim.....we won't know anything definitive until probably MONDAY!!!:scared1: He said you just want this done. Yup....I don't care what the answer is I want to know it NOW!! If it's no...I want to be able to go out and rent something this weekend. If it's yes...I need to get everything together to move by next Saturday!!:scared1:

I haven't slept....I am afraid I have the start of an ulcer (had a lovely puking episode this morning...sorry if it's TMI!!).

Thanks for listening and being there for me....I appreciate it.

Prayers & pixiedust: that the answer is a good one.

Tia sent me this email:

Hi Deb,

We are in Kansas for the wedding, but have had some upsetting news that I was hoping you could ask the group to pray for. My grandmother was admitted to the hospital this afternoon after experiencing flu-like symptoms. The doctor said that it was a kidney infection that had spread throughout her body. The admitted her to the ICU after her blood pressure wouldn't stabilze. Her plattelete counts were dropping so they moved her to the city hospital. My aunt called an hour or so ago to say that the doctor's don't think that Meme will make it for more than a few hours. The blessing is that things have moved quickly so she hasn't suffered much.

As I type this, my aunt just called to say that she had passed. We will be heading down to Oklahoma tomorrow sometime and the family still in St. Louis will drive down then or on Sunday. Please pray for safe travels for all those heading to OK this weekend and and for comfort for the family. She leaves 4 daughters, 1 son, 1 step-daughter, 1 foster daughter, 4 son-in-laws, 13 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a large circle of friends. I am comforted by the fact that she will be in a better place and home again with my beloved Papa. Her name is Ruth McCormick Blesie and she was 74 years old, still substitute teaching and working afterschool and the local elementary school.

Bless you all and I'll be in touch,
Tia

 :wizard:  :wizard:

Tia, prayers & pixiedust: for your entire family!

I washed most of our new blank t-shirt (I missed a few that were in a different location. I also printed one design, but didn't find the time to iron them on yet. I also worked on the scrapbook. I thought that I had bought enough supplies to do a 100 page book, but I was mistaken. When the package says 12 pages that means 6 protectors and 6 sheets of paper so you get 12 pages if you do front and back :sad2: I only want to print on one side. When we get back I will scrap photos on colored paper and place those on the opposite page. So off to Ebay I went. I found a cool 8x8 scrapbook with Mickey on it which I had to have even though I already had a plain one :rolleyes1 and I bought another 120 pages. So far I have printed 58 pages and have another 114 to go :scared1: I know that we will not get all those autographes this trip, but they are either characters that we have seen on past trips or ones that we know are now out and about. It will be something to work at for years to come :thumbsup2

I feel like I made headway on this rainy day. It was very slow at work, but between Wednesday and Tonight I made my weekly Disney savings goal so all is good.

So did you design the 8x8 pages with clipart for the character to sign? I'm assuming then the opposite page will be a picture of the characters with the kids or you?

I never have actually gotten the characters to sign my pages. I am one of those people that tend to go overboard. Once I start it, I will have to do it the same way until the book is filled. I've never made the final decision on what size book. The problem of being a perfectionist. Many things never get started. I was hoping to come up with an idea that had room for me to change my mind over the years but still seem seamless.

So this morning our real estate agent called and said that the other agent has set up closing. Why is the broker telling everybody else that the loan is through and telling us we are waiting for the underwriter's final say???:confused3

The good thing is that the appraisal came in for higher than we are paying (hopefully) for the house. We were talking this morning and Cassidy said I hope the answer is yes...me too.

On tap today is an Abi concert and getting Miss Cassidy ready for prom. The boy knows he has to be here early so we can interrogate him. popcorn:: :rotfl2: He's made reservations and Cassidy knows that she has to be home by midnight (she doesn't want to go to after prom....it's at Fat City (not a cool place!!)).

It's going to be HOT tomorrow...and we will be inside cleaning and packing...I think we are going to have to some outside time or we'll go nuts!!

I read some of the pages but I doubt I'll ever be able to read them all to truly catch up.

I'm off to try to get some things done today. Chuck & I aren't talking. That isn't good when there is so much to get done and some of it requires two people. Oh well. We'll work it out at some point today I'm sure.

Have a great afternoon everyone!
