This makes me want to cry! From weather.com:

A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA AFTER MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY NIGHT...THEN REACH ALL OF CENTRAL NEW YORK DURING THE MORNING ON SUNDAY. SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY...AT TIMES...BY SUNDAY MORNING...THEN PERSIST SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY. PARTICULARLY INTENSE BANDS OF SNOW WILL LIKELY PRODUCE SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH...OR MORE...PER HOUR.

SNOWFALL TOTALS COULD WELL EXCEED A FOOT BY LATE MONDAY OVER CENTRAL NEW YORK...AND PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE SNOW IS LIKELY TO BE HEAVY AND WET IN NATURE. AS A RESULT...DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES MAY OCCUR.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT BECAUSE HEAVY SNOW IS A POSSIBILITY... BUT NOT A CERTAINTY. AT THIS TIME... THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 7 INCHES OR MORE. TRAVEL CONDITIONS COULD BECOME HAZARDOUS... SO IT IS IMPORTANT TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL IN THE WATCH AREA.

Didn't they see my signature?! It's supposed to be SPRING!

Thanks for all the well wishes for Molly. They must be working. I finally got a nap out of her today. Although it might be because I told her we would go to Donald Duck's for dinner with her big sister and best friend if she napped. But more importantly she wasn't a holy terror today. So I appreciate the breather.

HI everyone!

just booked out very first Disney Cruise :dance3::yay:

So if any of you can answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it...

1. if you fly in the night before...what hotel do you stay at near the port?

2. has anyone used a different transportation company besides Disney to get me to that hotel the first night...and then back to Disney World after the cruise?

Kristine,

I'm still going through all the options for our cruise, but here is what I've learned:

1. The hotels that seem to be most commonly recommended over on the Cruise Forum (for proximity to the port, and parking and/or free shuttle access) are the Radission Resort at the Port, the Residence Inn, and the Country Inn & Suites. The Radisson has a free shuttle to the port, and I believe you can get shuttle service from the other 2 for a pretty nominal fee per person (like maybe $3?). For our cruise in November, I'm holding a 1-night reservation at both the Radisson and the Residence Inn, and will decide a little closer to the date which we're going to take. (Although the RI is a little more expensive than the Radisson initially, it's only been open about a year, and does have free breakfast and hi-speed internet access, so that might tip the scales in its favor.)

2. For just 2 of us, a town car or limo service is not going to be as economical as a rental car would be (we don't mind driving as Jonathan spent a good portion of his childhood as a resident of the Orlando area), but it's my understanding that it very much can be for a larger family. So, I haven't paid as close of attention to those recommendations, although I've seen Happy Limo mentioned a lot over on the Cruise Forum. You could do a search over there, or just ask the question, and I'm sure you'll get responses.

Jonathan and I are considering doing a one-way rental with Budget (since they have a free shuttle) to the Port, potentially catching Disney transportation back to the airport post-cruise, and then picking up a rental car for the rest of our week+ stay there at MCO (I like the selection from National's EA at MCO). We're going to price a few different scenarios, and see what ends up being the best option.

Good Afternoon DDA!

Well, the sun is shining, even though for a brief moment!

Tomorrow is to bring periods of snow and rain! Calling for a slushy accumulation by afternoon! I wonder if the rescheduled Easter egg hunt for tomorrow will be postponed again!:confused3 The church has over 4,000 filled eggs, and they really need to get this done!

Leighanna had her immunizations done yesterday. She came through them like a little trooper. Just a few tears, until she saw the toy chest come out, and then she was o.k. Her leg is a little sore today from the tetanus shot, but otherwise she is good! Kindergarten screening is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, so after that she will be good to go!

Prayers and pixie dust to all that need it!

Congrats to all the new trips and cruises that have been scheduled!

Off to enjoy the day today. Tomorrow doesn't look too promising!:sad2:

Jennifer congrats on hearing the baby's heartbeat! Sounds like "he" is a busy little guy! Thanks for keeping us informed!

Lindsay -- have fun this weekend. I hope it goes better than expected. Happy early birthday to Jonathan! Are you leaving today? Be careful if so. These storms they are predicting sound brutal!

I wish it would rain enough tonight that Andrew's baseball game tonight is cancelled and his soccer game in the morning as well. (That way, his team has more time to practice before they play the opponent for tonight, and then he wouldn't miss his soccer game in the morning.) Of course, I don't want it to rain in Mineola, because he has a tournament there this weekend, and I don't want it to be rescheduled. Selective rain is what I want!

Unfortunately, we are leaving tonight. If there was any other way around going down there, we would have taken it, but we are one of these weird people that don't board our dog - she always stays with friends/family. And unfortunately, my parents are the only ones that have the availabilitiy to take care of her this time around - so to Houston we go!

Here's :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for selective rain! And I hope the boys do well with whatever games they end up playing tonight/this weekend!

Yay for you both! Here's some more that it will continue! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

And tell Molly "happy birthday!" She's getting to be such a big girl. princess:

Hi Robyn,
glad to hear Molly is doing a little better. Happy Birthday Molly,

still nauseated. I actually threw up last night.

was supposed to be at a bake sale today for march of dimes but did not wake up till 1030 and woke up with a Headache. At least the headache is gone

Lindsay..

Thanks for the info!!!

So far the Radisson seems to be where most of the people have stayed

The town car service we used in December also goes to DCL...so I am pretty happy.

Wish it was NOW!! :rotfl2:

Understood! :goodvibes

What service did you guys use in December, if you don't mind my asking?

Sunray...

I think it is owned by 2 guys: Bob & Roger. We had Roger & really liked him. We made 2 stops...and he watched the kids for us during one of them...didn't charge extra for the 2nd stop either.

Understood! :goodvibes

Good morning, DDA!

Have fun prom dress shopping, Vicki! We took the girls out to get dresses for the 8th grade social, and there were lots of older girls shopping for prom dresses. They were so beautiful, but I am not ready for that!

That's very cute! I love the color.

Found this blurb on www.allearsnet.com too:

At Epcot, a re-imagined Spaceship Earth will combine the magic of the iconic attraction's time-travel adventure into the past with a new finale, presented by Siemens, which lets Guests imagine their futures.

Enhancements to the time-travel attraction will encompass changes to each of the ride scenes. New show scenes will be added to the attraction's story along with new lighting effects, costumes, set decoration, narration and musical score. The time travel adventure will be enhanced through new, interactive touch screens installed aboard each "time machine" that will enable guests to create their own visions of the future and see themselves in that future.

As guests disembark the time travel experience, they are invited to visit Project Tomorrow: Inventing the World of Tomorrow presented by Siemens, where interactive exhibits bring to life the ideas and technologies Siemens is developing to help make the world a better place for the future.

The space is filled with fun, interactive games and displays that showcase innovative technologies. Here guests step into the world of tomorrow and glimpse the future of medicine, transportation and responsible energy management across the globe.

Opening to Epcot guests later this month, the first completed phases of Project Tomorrow will include an illuminated globe -- measuring 20 feet in diameter -- that will offer an ever-changing collage of inspirational images that invite guests to imagine the wonders of tomorrow; Body Builder, a 3-D game that enables users to assemble a digital human body; and, Super Driver, a driving simulation video game that showcases motor vehicle accident and avoidance systems developed by Siemens.

With phased renovations occurring through the year, Spaceship Earth's makeover is scheduled to be fully completed in early 2008.

Elin and Tia - thanks for this info... how exciting! It's about time!

I just got email from Southwest about a deal they are running for May and June travel. I could fly RT from DC to Orlando for $128.80! Now, if I only had a reason to go.... :rotfl: or a child to take.... :rotfl:

Oooh, was it just for your area? I don't get SW emails, but I'm traveling in May :rolleyes1

Elizabeth - looks like we are getting a Grand Villa so you and DS can both come. Of course, now with all the airfare and the Grand Villa and needing to stay for 2 weeks to celebrate two birthdays and all the meals that this will entail, I am now poor and cannot afford to pay my cable bill and won't be able to DIS anymore so you all won't know when we are going.

:rotfl:

We were at a 5th grade parents meeting last night (we will not go into the fact that I will have a middle schooler soon. ) when I realized we hadn't heard....I had Jim call Jane....from what he understood of what he heard...they've accepted our bid with one minor change.

Now all we have to do is wait for the loan approval!! I want to hear today so we can not only celebrate our anniversary but the fact that we will be home owners!!

CONGRATULATIONS! :goodvibes

A few years back we did a cruise out of Port Canaveral (not Disney) and we found it cheaper to rent a car at the Orlando airport and return it near the Port. But I don't remember which rental companys have locations there.

Didn't stay overnight near there, we stayed near Disney World, and then drove over in the morning, but I think there is a Radisson right near the Port.

Theresa I do hope you start to feel better so you can enjoy your night away :wizard:

Congratulations on the weight loss :cheer2: You are like me, when I am really stressed I cannot eat. Hopefully once you get into your own home, all will be back to normal

Thank you all for the finger crossings and pixie dust.

I need them and I feel the love when I come to this thread.

Now I need them for me to feel better by tonight....I can't hear out of one ear it's so stuffed up and my throat hurts and Jimmy booked a beautiful room for our anniversary in Manitou Springs (where all the snow is coming down right now).

I feel like I am always whining lately....how about something not whiny....I have lost 8 lbs. because I can't eat!!:rotfl2:

No advice, just wanted to say congratulations! :cool1:
