:rotfl2: I do wish that I lived near a larger airport, though. We never get deals like that around here.

Another one of my thoughts. I told Chuck that when we retire, we are moving closer to an airport that gets good deals so that I can fly to Disney more often! Even though retirement is many years away for us, I talked to him about it. I don't see myself living here once I retire. However, he does. I guess I'll have to start working on him about that. I see myself some place that doesn't have so many months of extremely cold temperatures. I like 4 seasons but prefer to be someplace where winter isn't quite so extreme.

Beth - Southwest just recently started flying out of Dulles. Before that we had to drive to Baltimore or Norfolk to get deals on airfare. Things are improving slightly for us, but our closest airports are a good hour away no matter which one we choose!

Vicki - I hear you on the cold weather for retirement! Luckily Bob and I are in agreement on this. So, that is why we are seriously discussing our retirement years now when we can make a move that his company will pay for to get us to the location that we think we want to be in in our "older years." Florida and South Carolina are at the top of our lists.

Morning back at ya Tammi.

Beth, Laura looks nice.

Poor Aidan.

Tia and Elin, I get the Orlando Sentinel sent to my email and they had an article about Spaceship Earth being revamped.

Update on little Aidan: :(

Well we just got a phone call that Aidan is once again experiencing Resperatory Distress and has had to be re-intubated. They said his numbers were dropping once again and that his blood sugars had gone bad due to the stress. This is quite hard on his mother as she had looked forward to being able to hold her baby today. He has become more stable now that they have put him back on the vent.

We received a book yesterday from a group called MEND and it talks about this roller coaster that we are on. It states that this is more like a frail boat on the seas in which we have been placed versus a roller coaster which people choose to ride and this by no means was chosen by us.

This boat however is tossed and turned by each wave, some larger then others, but we need to remember that the Lord is with us and even in our darkest fear's he will come to us and calm the seas.

I pray now that the Lord grant these Doctor's and Nurses the skills they need to decipher these issues, grant piece to my wife and family, remove my fears and provide answer's to those that pray so deeply for us.
Just heartbreaking. :sad1: Poor little Aidan and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

YEAH! Spaceship Earth is finally coming back to life:

A re-imagined Spaceship Earth presented by Siemens will
combine the magic of the iconic attraction's time-travel adventure
into the past with a new finale which provides guests the opportunity
to imagine their futures. Enhancements to the time-travel attraction
will encompass changes to each of the ride scenes. New show scenes
will be added to the attraction's story along with new lighting
effects, costumes, set decoration, narration and musical score. This
adventure through time leads ultimately to the very top of Spaceship
Earth's geodesic dome, where guests arrive at the present. The time
travel adventure will be enhanced through new, interactive touch
screens installed aboard each "time machine" that will enable guests
to create their own visions of the future and see themselves in that
future. As guests disembark the time travel experience, they are
invited to visit "Project Tomorrow: Inventing the World of Tomorrow,"
where interactive exhibits bring to life the ideas and technologies
Siemens is developing to help make the world a better place for the
future. The space is filled with fun, interactive games and displays
that showcase innovative technologies. Here guests step into the world
of tomorrow and glimpse the future of medicine, transportation and
responsible energy management across the globe. With phased
renovations occurring through the year, Spaceship Earth's makeover is
scheduled to be fully completed in early 2008.
:yay: :yay:

I found a new wedding song! Lost in this Moment - Big and Rich (don't laugh! :teeth: ) I can't find a clip for you guys to listen to it.
CD doesn't come out until June 5th though...
I've heard it on the radio and I really like it. The dj's have said it's going to become a popular wedding song!

Hi everyone. Let me first say that I will never, Never, NEVER, NEVER
fly US Air again.

I got up at 4am, and got ready for my trip. I even put a little makeup on  I know Stephanie, I was just trying some new stuff I had bought and thought this was the perfect time. I left at 5am and drove to the airport (Harrisburg) which only took about 40 minutes. It was raining so hard and I did not have my umbrella, so I put the hood up on my sweatshirt. Walked to the shuttle and went to the airport. Spent over half an hour in line to check in. We got on the plane---a prop job :lmao: didn't know they still used them. When the propellers started up, you could feel yourself sway back and forth a little in your seat. :rotfl:
You could hear the propellers sputter and then stop. The pilot said there was something mechanical so he took the plane back to the terminal. It was then decided we had to get off the plane and of course, we all started to wonder how this would impact catching connecting flights. It took about half an hour and we were able to reload. The plane took off and I thought, okay, now things are looking good.

Silly me, we were in a holding pattern over Phila so the whole flight time was just over an hour. My connecting flight was to leave at 9:35 am and we landed at 9:25. I never ran so hard to catch the shuttle and get to the next gate in my life. I left a message for my sister and she could tell I was just a huffing and a puffing. :lmao:
Thankfully the plane had not landed to unload and get cleaned for us, so I was able to catch my breath. We finally started to load the plane at about 10:30. When about half the plane was loaded, and I was talking to my sister, the pilot suddenly announced that it was discovered that our plane was scheduled for maintainence.
Everyone was stunned. No hold on while we bring another plane, no let us take you to another flight and get a seat, just --do what you need to get where you were going in the first place. That took about an hour standing in line again. :furious:
Of course when it was my turn the lady said she could book me on a flight tomorrow. I just told her "not acceptable". I asked about stand by and other flights. Everything was full. I then asked if I stayed for the standby flights and did not get on did that mean I would just have to sleep in the airport? she said no they could put me up at a hotel at a "discount" Again, I said "not acceptable."
I could not understand how they could just leave a full flight standing with no back up for that kind of thing. The flight finally boarded at about 1:30pm and the gate attendant went on the plane and came back and started reading names. Thankfully my name was called. I cannot even imagine how I would have reacted if I had to wait for another flight.

I can remember doing that when we went to Ireland. One flight was late and they do not take that into consideration. Three minutes before our next flight they were already selling our seats. I think we waited for three flights before we got on a plane.

So, I was running down the ramp and called my sister telling her I was getting on the plane and forgot to tell her the flight number. :rotfl2: So she was kinda panicking trying to find the flight. I finally landed at 3:30pm. Then we drove to her house in Atlanta traffic
To top it all off, the one flight attendant was constantly stopping to talk to another US Air employee who was flying as a passenger. Just what one wants to hear, an employee complain about passengers to another employee.

But now I am here, drinking some fine wine, DISsing, and playing Pogo with my sisters and having a ball.

Will post more later.

What an ordeal!! I hope that you have a wonderful time and erase some of that mess.

Jennifer It is great to hear that the baby is doing well. I remember how magical the sound of the baby's hearbeat is. Enjoy it!!

I just got email from Southwest about a deal they are running for May and June travel. I could fly RT from DC to Orlando for $128.80! Now, if I only had a reason to go.... :rotfl: or a child to take.... :rotfl:
Well, one reason would be to hang out with Stephanie and I. Remember, my kids asked if you were going to be there again. ;)

That's one reason I like Virginia so much. We get all 4 seasons, in just the right dose. :thumbsup2

just caught up and wanted to say hello
I had a friend come over tonight and we watched movies from 9-2am..he just left so here i am! hope you all had a great night!

It's 2 am and a "He" just left ;) I hope you had a great time

Beth - Southwest just recently started flying out of Dulles. Before that we had to drive to Baltimore or Norfolk to get deals on airfare. Things are improving slightly for us, but our closest airports are a good hour away no matter which one we choose!
But that's only because of traffic! I could make it to Dulles in 45 minutes if people would stay out of my way. :drive:

Well, one reason would be to hang out with Stephanie and I. Remember, my kids asked if you were going to be there again. ;)

But this fare is in May and June, not April. Besides, all my other daughters are looking forward to spending Heidi's birthday with her at WDW. :rotfl:
