Both Andrew and Jake has baseball games last night, both teams won, and what was even better is that both boys played well! Yahoo! Unfortunately, one played in Kaufman and one played 12 miles away, but at least Randy could get off early enough so that we could both attend a game. :)

Have a good day everyone!

YAY for Andrew and Jake! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I need to get Colby to school then pick up a few groceries and some flowers. Hunter's big play is tonight so I must have flowers for him after the performance ;) My niece also had 5 teeth pulled this morning so I get some flowers for her too. My Mom will pick Colby up at school today as I have teacher conferences for Nick and Hunter this afternoon. Then I will need to facilitate homework quickly and feed my crew something before we are off to the performance. Just another busy day here. I did remember to charge all of the camera batteries and all 3 camcorder batteries so hopefully I will be able to record the show. Who knows, maybe he'll be the next Bruce Willis and my video will be very valuable :rotfl: Of course he doesn't even have a speaking role, but he will be signing and dancing and giving a girl flowers. He is so excited about this play. I hope it goes as well as he thinks it will.

Break a leg, Hunter! :thumbsup2

Just a quick pop in..

Things are crazy around here.

Molly's behavior has gotten horrible as a result of her being off her medicine. She is not napping at all, I can't remember when her last nap was. So with her not getting any relief for her throat on top of being exhausted has made for some interesting days. What has got me :furious: is that I cannot get a hold of the surgical scheduler to get her endoscopy date set. I keep playing phone tag and have left several messages. The last few have been not so nice.

And then Emma is giving us a run for our money. Remember the imagining of her Easter Basket contents, well she also cut her bangs Sunday morning when she came downstairs. I could care less about her sneaking a peek or even cutting her hair, I know I'm guilty of both. What made it worse was that she lied to us about both. I know all kids lie at some point-I'm just hoping that we have nipped it in the bud. She lost her Ipod and her computer time for the week. Her attitude is getting a little obnoxious and I am wondering where my sweet little  went.

I have caught up but don't know how long that will last. Sending good thoughts to everyone.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to you, Robyn. I have no advice, but hope it's just a stage Emma is going through. My oldest niece went through a weird lying stage not long ago (things like telling her teacher her father was in the Army in Irag?! :confused3 ), so maybe it's just a function of sometimes not really knowing where the line is between imagination and being truthful.

Tia - I enjoyed your pics - good luck with the room cleaning! :scared:

Poor Robyn! Sounds like things are crazy for you right now! Don't worry too much about Emma. It could be that she's acting out because of the new baby. Just keep loving her, and you'll be fine. I know that's easier said than done, sometimes, but you'll get through this!

When I was pregnant with the twins I was put on bedrest. I was allowed out of bed for 1 hour each day. Other than that, I was flat on my back. Well, one day I got up for my 1 hour, and waddled into the bathroom. Imagine my surprise when I saw a LARGE tuft of blond hair in my bathtub, and my sewing scissors on the counter! I went running (as fast as my pregnant body would allow) to the living room where Katie and Jacob were watching a movie. I scrutinized Katie's head but didn't see any missing hair. Deep sigh of relief. Then I moved on to Jacob. There was a lovely bald spot right on top of his head. After some talking, Katie confessed to cutting his hair. I asked her why she'd done it, and her reply? "You told me not to cut my hair. You never told me not to cut Jacob's hair." I then told her she was not to cut her hair, or Jacob's hair, or the dog's hair, or mom or dad's hair, or her dolly's hair, or anyone else's hair!

Well, I'm doing at least 3 loads of laundry, have to make a batch of cupcakes for Katie to take to a church group activity, babysitting for a neighbor for an hour, have to make some calls to get our pop-up camping ready, call a campground to make a ressie for next week, make dinner, strip and remake the master bed, try not to ignore my kids, teach two piano lessons, mend a skirt for a school program, buy teacher appreciation gifts.....do I need to go on? I think I'd rather go back to bed. Better still, I really think I'd like to come to your house and help you watch the DVD's.

Guess I'd better get jumping on my list!

Good luck with it all, Glynis! I think I want to go back to bed after just READING it! :wizard:

I hope things get better soon. I would think that the lying is probably a normal phase to test things, and hopefully like you said you have nipped it in the bud.

Thanks. :cloud9: She broke into a dead run as soon as she realized it was in her basket. In the craziest voice I've ever heard from her she yelled out "IT'S MY UNICORN WEBKINZ!!!!!"

What I want to know is why no one ever warned me that I work get addicted to the games! I love the trivia questions and a few of the brain teaser type of games and keep wanting to sneak in here to play them.

Does anyone have experience with the "free chocolate fondue" coupons at The Melting Pot? It says you have to buy the dinner for two or four-course features. Since the four-course includes the dessert, does that mean they discount the price of the dessert? I'd love to go there for my birthday and our anniversary, but it's just so expensive! Yikes.

A random request - Tammi's post made me think of it...

Would anyone in the DDA group mind doing me a favor on the October trip? Last year, I got Mickey and Minnie to sign post cards to my nieces and nephew, and planned to send them sometime this fall to get them excited for our upcoming December trip. Well, I think they would be even more thrilled if the postmark is Lake Buena Vista, vs. Dallas. ;)

If I send them to someone closer to the date, could you pop them in the mail while you're down there?

Deb - It sounds as if you are in the midst of another BusyBrooks day and night. I hope the weather holds off so everything gets done without postponements. :)

Here are our Easter pics...

Playing Barrel Da Monkies (and yes, you can do say "da Monkies" according to Terra)
PlayingBarreldaMonkies.jpg

I love all your pictures, Tia, but this is my favorite.

Kristin loved Barrel of Monkeys, but at our house they were not played with. When she was little she would take all the monkeys out of the barrel and hang them on things like cabinet knobs, bedroom lamps, bathroom towel bars, etc. They also were found in suitcases taken by traveling parents and her big sister's Going Away to College Trunk. Why, you may ask?

Because the are "Patecta Monkeys! They patect (protect) you from bad stuff and keep you safe." They are still hanging to this very day and I have one in my carryon all the time. :goodvibes

How sweet. I had forgotten to mention that hers have been used less as the game and more as an acting prop since we got them. She likes to renact the Toy Story scene. "We need more monkeys." "We don't have any monkies. That's the whole barrel." "Buzz, we're formulating a new plan" is frequently screamed throughout the house this week.
