So I survived work, going out to eat with my super extended family, 14 of us. Reason super extended as I can really never figure out the relation terms as it is like 3rd cousins, Great(Great)Aunts, etc. Girl Scout meeting, try getting 16 (pre)teenagers to decide what they want to do and eat on their camping trip plus others things and now I am trying to catch up before I head to bed. I feel a little better, but still under the weahter..

Sending :wizard: , prayers and  to all of you.

Lindsay - I spent the day doing laundry, too. I started out doing one load after another, but I got off track this afternoon so I just now put load #5 in the dryer. There are still 2 more loads to do, but I think I have had enough. We are taking down the Christams tree (and renting a storage unit) on Saturday. We have to get ready for the pet sitter, which means getting everything picked up and cleaned before we leave on Feb 1.

Becky - Those are funny!:rotfl:

Marci,
I love the hats.

I was afraid I bored everybody with the pictures. I am glad to her that everybody liked the pictures.

Deb now that is cold.

Been meaning to tell you, Elizabeth - DH and I used to rent a storage unit at a climate-controlled place there next to Half Price Books at 75 and NW Hwy. I think they've since changed names since we were there (it was called Storage Spot), but we found their rates very reasonable, the place was clean, and we never had any problems. They also have 3 different levels of the building, but there was an entrance for each level, so you didn't have to take an elevator if you didn't want to. If you haven't found a spot or are still shopping around, they might be worth a look.

alright, i think im going to make myself go tobed early again tonight!ill probably check in in the morning, but i have my night class tomorrow too, so not sure! have a great night

So I am supposed to work tomorrow. I have to leave by 6am to make it to work on time.

Jeff managed to get the ice off my van eniugh to get the door open and start the van so it is completely ice free right now. Hopefully it wont be to bad in the morning..

I wonder how the roads out hear will be in the morn.

Lindsay - That is so funny that you mentioned the place next to Half Price, because that is precisely where we were planning to go! :rotfl2:

Jennifer - Good luck in the morning! DH is supposed to be off, but of course, they asked him to come help cover some stores where other drivers are out on vacation or whatever. He is meeting his supervisor at a store at 6 AM. Hopefully he won't have any trouble getting there. We are placing our bets on whether or not Toad will show up. My money is on "No", which would mean DH would have to cover his own stores. I will have to leave at 7 AM tomorrow, so at least it won't be pitch dark. The news really didn't say what they think will happen in the morning. I guess they want us to be surprised!:scared1:

I'm heading to bed. I'm not sure if the kids will sleep through the night or if they'll be up with aches and pains so I want to be prepared.

Good night.

Deb

I love when everyone posts pictures of their families, homes, cars, etc. I can honestly say that none of you have bored me (yet!) with pictures. I always look forward to them.

Hi everyone! We are back home and keeping warm at last! Our power went out around 5:30 on Saturday morning and it came on sometime around 9:00 Monday night. We hit IHOP for breakfast and then took the kids to the mall for a couple of hours to play where it was warm, hoping things would be better when we got home. No such luck and more ice on the way! So, we bought a trunk load of firewood from some people near by and set up camp in the living room around the fire. It was kind of fun for a little while reading books to the kids via flashlight and snuggling around the fire. No so fun a little later when trying to sleep as the temp in the house steadily dropped.

By morning our wood supply was on it's last log and the electricity was still out and in growing numbers around the city. Sunday morning I spent 2 hours with the kids at McDonald's while Mom and Dad went to church (our potential new music minister was leading the service and it was the only chance to see him before the vote) and Chris and Kristi snuck in showers at the gym.

Luckily, for Sunday night we were able to get a bonus night at my parent's timeshare an hour away and were able to sleep in warmth. Kristi and I kept the kids there until yesterday while the others all commuted back for warmth. According to news reports we weren't expected to get out power back until later today, but were pleased to get a call from Rachel's friend who drove by our place Monday night and saw the power was back on. So yesterday, we got to come home and face the mess that 10 people can make when pretty much stuck in 2 rooms for a couple of days in the dark.

So...how was everyone else's weekend? :teeth:

Now I've got to head back to page 6300 and get caught up!

Wow, Tia! Glad you are home and warmer. :goodvibes

I just have to share this with my Disney family: My husband is officially semi-Disney obsessed!!!!! He came home from work all excited to show me what he bought me. He had gotten the email from Disney shopping about their 75% sale, and free shipping on orders of $60.00. Well, he found a Mickey tow hitch cover for my van, 2 Mickey car backseat organizers for Katie and Jacob, a set of Mickey drawer pulls, 2 picture frames, and a Dash lunchbox for Jacob. I couldn't believe it!!!! Then he says, "What would you think about turning the playroom downstairs into our Disney room?" He wants to get some Disney beanbag chairs, pictures for the wall, wants to paint it up in Disney style, etc.

I think the half marathon/WDW trip really changed his heart. I'm so happy!

:cool1: :yay: :cool1:

Becky - I hope you feel better soon! When do your classes start back? When is the big camping trip?

My classes started again on January 8th, I already did 1 assignment and have another due at the start of next week.

Winter camping trip is February 2-4th, at my co-leaders cabin. Although the girls hope there is snow on the ground for that weekend, the adults are hoping the roads are clear as their is a lane to get to the cabin that will not be easily navigable if it snows.

Cool!! WDW is a magic pill, I'm telling you!

I think dinner is going to be hot chocolate & Baileys again tonight. This project is so ridiculous I can't even begin to express my feelings about it.

Glad you remembered your coat too!
