My Mom is okay with it. She's known more people involved with it over the years so understands it better. However, she also has concerns with things like band since it was so big in all of our high school careers (Mom, Dad, Me, Kristi and Erin). My Dad is not much for it, but I found out that is because he believes that it is our duty to be "in" the community and part of that is going to the schools. (Or this is what he told Phil anyway.) Of course, I said (to Phil only since it was later on that I foundt his out) that I wondered how Dad feels about all of those people (including many in our church) who send their kids to private schools - religious or non. To me, going to a school 20 miles away is not "in" the community.
My in-laws simply don't know and we plan to keep it that way for as long as we can. They will not agree if only for the reason if "it's just not proper". They are completely into what is "right" socially, especially on the social ladder. My MIL has been asking us since Terra was 15mo when we were going to put her into preschool. She says, "How else will she learn to follow commands." However, they are both approaching 80 and not in the best of health so it may never been an issue that we need to broach with them.
Luckily, there are a lot of families in my parent's church that homeschool and that have homeschooled over the past 15 years so the ground work has been laid for the idea already. Our church even offers enrichment classes for homeschool kids where they can work with other church members in music, advanced science, etc.
