Debbie - here's my take on the situation. You are not the snake. The other girl had ample opportunity to improve her work. She did not take advantage of that. If the SM wants her removed, it is due to her substandard work. If that happens to benefit you, take advantage of the opportunity. ;)

i agree!

I awoke to the radio this morning telling of another soldier that died in Iraq. I heard a last name & where he attended school. I shot right up freaking out, asking dh if he heard the whole name. This soldier that died was 24 year old Daniel Miller Jr. He is the oldest son of a friend that I grew up with. I seen Robin(his mother)at work Friday & we were talking about Daniel. Robin was so proud of her son & what he was doing. I was telling her how strong she is having to deal with a child over there now. We talked for quite awhile & before she left we both promised to have lunch together soon.

I am crying so hard, I can't believe this happened. I know lot's of soldiers have lost their lives over there, but this is the 1st one that I have known. I feel so helpless & my heart is aching so hard for Robin.

Please pray for Robin & her family. She has a very rough road ahead of her. Daniel was the oldest of 5 children, plus 2 stepsiblings.

Since you would be doing the same islands, could you do the 4 night with disney , then see what other ships are sailng out of that port to see if u can get another 3 night with different islands

Good suggestion! All that would cost is a taxi ride to another terminal!

Theresa,
Hope your migraine is gone.

Terry, Steffy, & Debbie,
Hope you are feeling better.

Jennifer,
Hope the shoulder is doing better today.

Deb,
We were at Le Cellier for our annivesary dinner with the kids & it was great. The food is good & the place is very family friendly. We have never dined at a signature restaurant with the DDP. As far as a character meal, my kids vote for Chef Mickeys.

Tammi,
Good morning! It's 35 degrees here.

Elin, Tom, Heidi, Jen & Chanon,
Good morning!:)

Janet,
That is terrible..I am so very sorry for your friend & her family. There are too many brave young lives being lost. :grouphug:

Deb,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your cousin.:grouphug:

I am home with Sophie. She is watching Mulan. She has just started watching all her princess movies again/ I love it, reminds me of when Katie was small & we watched them.

Tomorrow I am taking Katie out of school to see Mary Poppins on broadway. Figures its going to be freezing!
Its been so mild, I was hoping to walk around the city. Looking forward to spending some time alone with her. She is supposed to see "the movie" this week about puberty & all its glory. Anyway, I want to talk to her before she sees it. Anyone have any idea how to handle this..no one ever had a talk with me..I just got it & thought I was dying.

Well, I am now all caught up! Good Morning DDA!

It is cold and blustery here!

We finally got a little snow!

You would think that it was a blizzard, the way the news is talking about it!
Probably got about a half an inch.

Snowplows are out dropping salt. There just isn't enough to push anywhere though!:rotfl:

Have a good day everyone!

Congrats Lindsay and Jonathon on the win last night "Yay, Gators!" (said in my most sarcastic voice:laughing: ). I am glad that someone is happy about the outcome! :sad2:

Our news gets the way with every storm!!

2 out of the last 3 they've been justified....this last one wasn't much of a storm...just made driving a pain in the tookus!!

Good Morning DDA

I'm beginning to think we're spreading germs around here, with so many of us under the weather. :confused3 Hopefully everyone will feel better today.

Kate - loved the pictures, good choice to buy the CD, you have way too many great shots to choose just a few.

Deb - I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin :grouphug: We have been to both Concourse and LeCellier and had great food and service at both. I think I'd go back and check out the menus at AllEars and see what they offer for the kids. DH is also a picky eater and he would vote for Concourse, simply because the food was more "normal".

Steffy - Sorry to hear about the rug catastrophe, but that just means you have to take another trip to Disney to replace it. :wizard: PD that you are feeling better and things go well at work for you today.

Theresa - PD :wizard: for you too, hope your migraine eases and you get your report completed.

Elizabeth - :wizard: PD for you and your job situation also.

I'm really torn about something at my job also. I worked at another store before Katrina and it was completely flooded and did not reopen for over a year, so I was transferred into the store that I am at. I took the HR position as it was available and the job that I did prior, Office Manager, was already filled by a girl that has had it for several years. The Store Manager that I was working for was also transferred into this store as the one that was there was out on medical and unfortunately had to retire because of it. Here's the delimma, the Store Manager is very unhappy with the Office Manager and wants to move her out and put me in that position. I would be much happier with the position but I don't want it at someone elses expense. Over the past year I have tried several times to work with her and show her how to do things the way he likes them done, she still doesn't get it done. I just feel like a snake in the grass taking the position.

I'm open for any opinions

You should look at it this way, if he isn't happy with her work and you have tried to teach her the proper ways, your manager will probably get rid of her anyway and replace her with someone else. She is the problem, not you. Unless you want someone else in the job that is perfect for you then I'd say grab it while you can.

That's exactly what I was thinking....you just said it first!!

Another benefit would be you wouldn't be so stressed and maybe you wouldn't get sick so often....or think about finding another job altogether

I like Jen's idea:thumbsup2

I guess I'd better get the kids ready for school now. We have to leave in 30 minutes and none of us are ready. Talk to you later.

I have no advice for your "talk" but I just wanted to say have a great time at the theater. Let me know how it is.

Oh how sad. I have a few co-workers that are over there now, one who has gotten back, and also children of co-workers are there. Luckily I've never had to deal with this either. It is so sad. Prayers for you all. :grouphug:

Janet -

my heart is aching for your friend - I will pray for him and his entire family
