Mattie is 3 and Donny is 5. Donny is old enough to know better. Mattie is not too bad when she's by herself. In fact, I babysit her every week, and when Donny is not around, she's a joy! She is polite and respectful (mostly because I make her), but she's learning something from me. Donny is pretty much a lost cause.

I don't like to babysit him, but his parents watched Katie and Jacob while we were in WDW, so I feel like I owe them some "kid swapping." I just forget that I have to keep an eye on Donny all the time. That kid is just a menace!!!

At least I remembered to hide the crayons and scissors! Donny is horrible with scissors. He's cut Mattie's hair 5 times, cut up all their furniture, and destroyed their trampoline.

Alan says the bookshelves will be easy to fix. I hope he's right. I told Donny that my house is not his house, and he may be able to destroy his house, but not mine. From now on, he will only be allowed to sit on the couch at my house. No playing. I told him he's going to have to earn the right to play while at my house, and that means following my rules, being polite, and showing me that I can trust him.

I'm just glad this day of babysitting is over.

Glynis - that is so sad for both you and for those two children. Without any guidance they will never learn!

Maybe you ought to ship SIX kids to me as Tammi suggested the other day. ;)

Hi all. I have been so busy with the WPASADI contest I have not had time to check in. I have tried to read along whenever I get a chance.

Not sure if I ever posted after we went to court on the bankruptcy but every thing went well for us. Now we just have to wait till it is discharged at the end of February.

I also want to thank everyone for the lovely Christmas cards that were sent my way. They sure did brighten my days.

Glynis, I loved every word of your reports. Your descriptions were very detailed, and I could just imagine it all! I'm really happy for you that everything turned out so well and you had such a good time.

Thanks, Ellen! I had a lot of fun writing it. Now, I've got to go back and print them all out, so I can keep it in my scrapbook.

I've been wondering how you were doing. I'm glad to hear that the court went well for you!

Thanks for hanging in with me on this trip report! It's fun remembering it all! Thanks for being so supportive of me! It means so much to me that you were all behind me!

Loved it all, Glynis! Thanks for taking the time to do it. :goodvibes

I was proposed to and he was on one knee. It was our very first date and he was zippering my coat.

I don't know why but I would have liked to have been proposed to (on his knee & all that).:rolleyes1

That sounds so sweet!

Gary proposed to me on the beach at sunset  We lived in CA. at the time & flew home to be married. I had to ship everything to my moms for the wedding. Our wedding was on Halloween weekend. After our reception a few of us went to a couple bars(Gary's dad owns one) & everyone would ask us if we really just got married or if we were dressed for Halloween :rotfl:

We never have had a honeymoon, just a couple nights at a hotel. We were happy just being home with family & friends. But our trip to Europe will be like our very overdue honeymoon :thumbsup2

It sounds like you did what you wanted and are still very happy. I'm sure your trip to Europe will be a wonderful honeymoon.

I don't but my sister does.

Do you have a scanner? If so someone around here or on the photo board should be able to enhance your photo. Photoshop or another digital manipulation program can do wonders for old photos, even if they are not great.

i get to see it again april 7. i saw it 2 yrs ago when it came and fell in love with it

I loved "Wicked" when we saw it on Broadway two summers ago. Just outstanding! Enjoy, Karen. And have fun telling your friend. :)

I have a feeling that we are going to have a school delay tomorrow.

I bet you are right... Although it is still above freezing I think that is supposed to change.

K. Just have to vent for a minute or a couple of kids are going to get it! I'm babysitting my niece and nephew while their mother is at a state PTA convention. It just frustrates me to no end that they are not taught manner, or basic what's right and wrong and then taken out into public. This little boy just delights in destroying things. He and his sister just destroyed my bookshelves in our family room. I'm hoping Alan can fix them easily, but it's so frustrating. Each time they come, they are told the rules, "Don't go into rooms where the doors are closed. Don't touch the bookshelves. Only get one toy out at a time, and when you are done, put it away. Don't write on the walls." Nothing too hard, and they know the rules by heart. Grrrrr. The sad thing is, I'll tell his mom what he did, and she'll just laugh. She honestly thinks that's what boys do.

I actually don't know why I'm so surprised. This is a family that has had to replace their flooring in their house 13 times in the last 15 years because their children like to destroy things. I can't wait to take them home!!!!!!!

Do you think they might "get it" if you stopped babysitting or started sending them the repair bills. I can't imagine any kids behaving that poorly.
