We too are having behavior problems here. We are on week 4 of potty training. This week is actually going pretty well though. He always wants to check out his pull ups to see if the design has "disappeared" (i.e. their wet). When we suggest going to the potty he now goes in voluntarily when before he would pitch a mini fit. But he is really eating up this "big boy" thing. We got a booster seat for the kitchen (goodbye highchair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), ordered his big boy bed, and now the potty.

Good luck with the potty training. We have literally been training ds 3 1/4 yrs old for a year and a half. He has been interested forever. Initially he would go if we put him on the potty, then he would go on his own, but not always remember. Then we went to Disney and had to start over pretty much. Now he is great during the day. Still uses a diaper for naps and night time and prefers to do #2 when he's wearing his diaper. Today however he announced that he had to go, went by himself and had us all come in to see what he had done on his own. We made a huge deal of it so hopefully he will continue. My first 2 trained in a very short amount of time. I don't think he will ever be out of diapers. I hope that you are have the luck that I had with the first two and have him completely trained, including nights in a very short time.

it is quiet around here tonight, I am watching the ceremonies, we were out for dinner so I missed the first half.

I'm creating autograph pages and listening to my Disney Greatest CD's. I just made a revelation! I love "I'll make a man out of you" from Mulan. I just found out tonight that it was none other than my teen heart throb Donny Osmond. You were talking awhile back about posters and such on the wall. I read every Tiger Beat I could get my hands on for news of Donny, David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman. I had posters of all three when I was 12 or 13.

In case I forget -- have a great time this weekend!! Its always good to get away for a weekend, and even better when its to WDW!! Have a wonderful time and have a Dole Whip for Skunka and I!!

Thanks, Marti (and everyone else who sent "have funs" earlier). I may have to finally try a Dole Whip just for you. That's one thing I've never had before. Terra was so excited, I couldn't get her in bed before 10. I'm hoping that means she sleeps at least part of the drive to Providence in the morning.

I forgot my BIG news!!!

DH agreed to our Disneyland trip today!!!

I am so HAPPY!! We will fly to Denver and spend a few days with my sister's family - then we are drving to Vegas and spending the night there and then on to LA - my aunt and his best friend lives there so it will be a lot of fun - then we will fly home from LA -

just waiting for my airtran Wendys miles to post to book!!!

Best part is - we do not need a hotel anywhere - so our costs should be minimal!!!!

That's great, Kate!! When are you going? We're headed out to see the family sometime early or late summer (when our and our friends' APs aren't blacked out). You'll have a great time!

My DS5 has this problem. We actual had to see a specialist about this. Some days I think I will never get him trained. He stays clean at school all day. Anyway his doctor told me this started when he was a baby because of the pain from being constipated caused him to start holding it in so it would to hurt him. From holding it in so much he has enlarged his colon/rectum and really does not know when he has to go poop. He told me it could take up to a year for everything to go back to normal size and for him to be able to feel the urge to actually go poop on his own. He is on medicine daily to loosen his bowels so that he cannot hold it in.

I had never thought of that part before. Terra had a lot of constipation problems from the day she started eating solid foods. I'll be the enlargement is why we had such a problem too. Her main problem though is the fear. Too many times it has been painful so she's afraid this time will be too. That makes her wait, it gets worse, and then it is painful...self fullfilling prophecy. Hello everyone! We just got back from our WONDERFUL trip! Thanks to everyone here for making it so magical . The tshirts were a hit! Everyone commented on them and wanted to know where we got them! Leighanna had a great time with some very special moments . This will be a birthday that she will never forget!

Hi ,
DH has been bribing him with the promise of Bob the Builder underwear, but first he needs to go in the potty. I think next week we will make a special trip to the store to go buy them so he can see them in the house...

Back to the Olymics and Dancing with the Stars results!!

Terra's "bribe" was Build a Bear. She really wanted to go so I jumped on the potty idea right then and promised that after she had dry panties for 2 weeks. We went straight to the store from there to pick out panties. From there, she was set. Less than 3 weeks later we were back building her bear. The panties were definitely a key factor as she had been wearing pullups since about 15mo just because they fit her better.

Alrighty, I've got to see if I can get some sleep tonight. We'll be back with pictures and maybe even a trip report this time (or maybe last time's trip report finally? ) on Tuesday. Of course, if the snow wants to come in heavy enough to strand us for an extra day or two, who am I to argue. As long as we're home in time to fly to my mom's on Thursday for Terra's big birthday party, I'm good.

Terra's "bribe" was Build a Bear. She really wanted to go so I jumped on the potty idea right then and promised that after she had dry panties for 2 weeks. We went straight to the store from there to pick out panties. From there, she was set. Less than 3 weeks later we were back building her bear. The panties were definitely a key factor as she had been wearing pullups since about 15mo just because they fit her better.

Colby's bribe is a trip to WDW. We aren't going until 2007, but he tells us every day how much he wants to go back. Now we tell him that Mickey told us he can't go back until he is completely potty trained. I also bribe hime with a quarter each time he does #2 on the potty. He likes to spend his quarters in the machines at the bowling alley while his brothers are doing their bowling league. I'm sure he will be potty trained long before we go back to WDW, but if that is what he really wants it will certainly motivate him.

Oh, I'm sorry I missed that. We watched the show last night. Becky and Chuck are into it. I'm not sure why they didn't turn it on tonight. Becky is probably a little side tracked. She has her ACT test tomorrow.

Patrick Swayze is my adult heart throb. Any time there is anything related to Dirty Dancing, it reminds me of him! Before him was John Travolta - yes I was a BIG Grease Fan. I LOVE any movie that has dancing and singing. That's why I liked the High School Musical!!!! Awesome!
