Y'all know Kate got all the creative genes...so I am repeating her beautiful sentiment! And this is me...

I am so touched!!! :grouphug: :cloud9:

Thanks to everyone who gave me book ideas for my son. I truly appreciate it! With Easter coming up this gives me good ideas for Easter Baskets.

Jennifer - I hope your mom gets things all straightened out soon! That is so stressful! I'm sending loads of :wizard: for her.

Kate - It's nice to see you again. You sound very cheerful today! Are the kiddies feeling better?

By the way, where's Princess Nancy? I was needing a kick in the rear the other day.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

I hope ya'll don't mind me posting this here instead of the restaurant page. But I really value ya'lls opinion.

My very LARGE family trip in December 06-Jan 07 will consist of 8 kids from the age of 2yrs to 13yrs. Of course not everyone will want to do the same Character Meals. These are the ones I have suggested to them.

MK - The Castle
MK - Pooh & Friends
Contemporary - Chef Mickey

Has anyone done any others that they would recommend??

Thanks for the input.....Lynn

Lynn, I acan't remember your plans for your vacation, however, I would highly recommend Chef Mickey's for the whole gang. When we went years ago with DH's WHOLE family, we did Chef Mickey's. It turned out great and everyone had fun. We were putin the back corner semi private area, beautiful view of the Castle. Pleanty of room to move and the kids could dance!

Best of all, noone had to make special plans around it. If they were in the parks for the day they came out or they could take the day offf fromthe parks and just do this. MIL and FIl ended up in the parks only one day and this way could go to Chef Mickey's w/o a park ticket. Just a thought.

If you are doing many Character meals, heres a good one...THe Land in Epcot. We espcially enjoy it for lunch. Mick Nad Min and Chip and Dale. Good Family style and great dessert.

Sorry, I just had to redo Bra Mickey! :rotfl: Click refresh if you don't see the new design.

That explains it! The old post picked up the new picture. I was trying to figure out what the heck Skunka was talking about. :D

I love the design though. Very bright and fun!

I have done Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Did you go there at a different time??

OK, it took me awhile to catch up.

Tammi- I'm with you...every time I take a day or so off from the board something happens!!

Kate- I started to write a long-winded response on your Goodbye thread but I managed to cool down and not hit post reply. (the general jist of it was how STUPID and UNGRATEFUL people can be when looking a gift horse in the mouth). So when I came here and saw that you were staying with the DDA and taking a much deserved break from design I did a little happy dance :woohoo:

I started reading this thread as a casual observer when it started over on the Theme Park board (it started about the same time I joined the DIS). I never posted too much because I was in awe of all the designs and felt strange not being able to contribute. But it really was something to watch the friendships start to form. And when I saw Kate's Goodbye I got REALLY sad, since reading this forum has become such a routine for me that I would feel like I am missing something if it went away.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the hours you have spent designing. To think that you did that for all these months, for complete strangers and to be treated the way you were....It really, REALLY, irks me that some people just take advantage of that kind of generosity. :furious:

And thank you to all of the other designers who have shared their work and inspired so many of us to go out and buy PhotoImpact and try it for ourselves. You were the originals, the innovators, the true creators of the DDA- so thank you.

Amy- I know I've said a dozen times already, but thanks again for spearheading the memorial donation.

And too everyone else, I am so glad our little group is staying together! :grouphug:

Hey guys! I could use some prayers and pixie dust this way... but not for me, this time!

My mom just found out this morning (and has subsequently been on the phone ALL day, LITERALLY) that her paypal account was fraduently charged almost $2000.00. The short of it is that the person who wanted the money cannot touch it right now, as a huge investigaion has been started.... but they won't credit my mom's account either. This is also from an account that does not have $2000.00 in it. SO.... she's obviously stressed. She thought she might be able to transfer money into the above account so that it does not get overdrawn, etc, as it was never meant for large purchases. She has been advised not to do that, however, until the investigation is complete.

So now, she's just having to sit back and watch as she incurs fees (which, ultimately will be reversed... but still), can't touch her account, worries about anything else (ebay, etc) that was supposed to come out of that account that won't be able to, etc. All while the bank AND paypal both say they can't do anything about it.... no holds on the payment, no reversal, no cancelling, etc. Nothing. She also has to fill out affadavits (for unauthroized use) for paypal, forms from the bank, a form with ebay (even though she wasn't even involved in the laptop "purchase" in question), etc -- which totally isn't her responsibility, but something she's stuck doing anyway.

She's a little stressed, to say the least. Add this to the fact that she was supposed to be dealing with the internet company today, which is still not working, plus a million other thing she does on a daily basis. She's just now starting Cassi's school day, so she's beyond frustrated.

Prayers that this is quickly resolved (without too terribly much (more) hassle), are greatly appreciated!

How terrible! I hope that everything works out quickly for your mom. I can't imagine the stress that is causing her.

Yep!! I allowed my better judgement to prevail and the DING is now over - but where was that when I was booking for my trip last year!!!

I've decided that's one of the good things about DING. The temptation doesn't last long. Way to hold strong!

I have similar plans for our big family trip (12 people with 4 kids (2,4,5,11). I wanted a variety in the characters so we're doing Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and PSB (instead of the castle for cost reasons and I like it just as much). I think that we will also do the new (though still rumors) Toy Story meal at H&V. Reasonings - Terra and I love Toy Story, we will have 1 little boy (2) and it will be something new for me sister (11 and the only other regular Disney-er besides me and Terra). If you have boys, Toy Story fans or regular attenders in your group then I would do that.

The details aren't certain yet, but it is supposed to start in very late March or early April. The early story was that it was going to be breakfast (Breakfast and Beyond!), but recent rumors are saying maybe it's a lunch. The characters I've seen mentioned are supposed to be Green Army Man (Sarge), Woody, Buzz and either Jessie or Mr. Incredible. Latest info is that ADRs will be available at the end of Feb so we should know more then,

Words really can not begin to express what I am feeling right now. You are all most amazing people I have never met. :) As you all know,
I have been in such a funk and this has lifted my spirit more than you all could ever know.

I am simply overwhelmed by you all and your generosity and love.

I feel so horrible that I told you all that I would not keep designing yesterday. The best way for me to express my feelings is that I really miss our quiet little happy community that lived in its quiet little corner. Has anyone ever seen the movie Brigadoon?!?! :teeth: I know that with greater exposure - things will obviously be a little more bumpy at times.

I will of course be here to chat - because after all we are a family!! and I could never stay away from you guys.

I do need a designing break - but with that said - I really do still love to design for you guys - the people who truly appreciate it and are my friends. So if you need one of my designs I would be more than happy to pm them to you

If you click on my name in my signature you will be linked to my design gallery - but the images are not full size - I will have to pm you the full size designs. This gives me better control over my images and then I know who is using them!!!!!

Again - I can not thank you all enough - I really needed that - it is nice to know there are so many wonderful people that I know I can always count on!!

I love you all!!!

Kate
I love that movie. Thank you for all your time and talent. I am sorry that you have had so many problems with rude or inconsiderate people. It always disappoints me to see problems as I want to believe the best in people. Pollyanna has been a favorite since I was 10 and I just wish life could be like a Disney movie. :cloud9: Hopefully, things will settle down for you and your family. :wizard: May all the PD you have shared to others return tenfold to you. :wizard:

PSB is the Princess Storybook Breakfast (or lunch, or dinner!) over at the Restaurant Askerhus in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot.

H&V is Hollywood & Vine at MGM.

I've done 2 of the 3 you've mentioned, and a couple of others. The only one I find myself wanting to return to time and again is Chef Mickey's! We love the food, you have the Fab 5 there whom everyone loves, the Contemporary has a great atmosphere with the monorail, etc. We always do breakfast. We are 2 childless (so far) adults, and we've also been with my parents and brother (who's 24). My dad actually ate there on a business trip, and it was his one place he wanted to eat in November! :teeth:

I also think Nancy's point is a good one - they don't have to use park admission to get there if they don't want to.

I've also done lunch at Cinderella's with the princesses, and it was just okay. Plus, I think their new prices are outrageous!

There's also an unconfirmed rumor that the 1900 Park Fare character meal at the GF might be turning into a Tinkerbell/Fairies meal at one of the sittings. There's also been a date of April 1 thrown out there for this change, but who knows.

Happy planning!

Ohhhh!! I hadn't heard this rumor...if anyone finds any more information out about this rumor please share!! Abi has really come to love the Fairy books by Gail Carson Levine. All of Ms. Levine's books are great...she is the one who wrote Ella Enchanted...she gives fairy tales a great new look.

Did anyone notice that we are page 400? Or does that change based on your settings?
