I'm off to bed to read my new WDW Passporter 2006 and listen to my new Disney's Greatest Volume 2 CD. They came in the mail today. I already have the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2005, Birnbaum's WDW Dining Guide 2005, The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom, Birnbaums' WDW 2006. I got the Disney's Greatest 1 & 3 for Christmas (they didn't have 2 at the time).

I got my WDW vacation planning kit the other day. I've watched that several times as well as watched my DVC DVD and read the material several times. Only 35 more days and we'll be leaving the Magic Kingdom after the Spectromagic Parade on our first night. Yeah!!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo: Here we come Tigger!:tigger:

Yes, I'm also an obsessive planner. I got my TourGuide Mike membership this year as well. I'm looking at making t-shirts, sweatshirts, autograph books, a journal, and who knows what else before the time comes. It helps the time pass until we are there. Working on Tinkerbell visits for my youngest and something for my eldest as well (not sure what yet - probably Cinderella).

Good night DDA.

Vicki -- I had not had a chance to tell anyone on here that one of my tips is in the new PassPorter so I am a published author now. :rotfl:
Not really, but I do have my name in print there, so my family is all buying PassPorters to show their friends. Of course, not one of them (siblings, etc.) will go to WDW with us when we go!

Have fun planning! :wave2:

Thanks, Clare. I don't have near as many as Kate, but I think that is a good idea. Guess I've got a new project.

Glad I could help :goodvibes

Do you know where your quote is? I've had fun reading different ones. Actually that is the most valuable information anymore. It's the little extra tips that everyone has that makes our trips a little more magical every time. I want to show my family that one of my DDA friends is published!

Can I get an option here?
Is this to sexy?
:confused3
th_tattoo2.jpg

Someone said it was to sexy.
What's your option?

Thanks Kate,
I have never thought of her being sexy either.
Some men just have their minds in the gutter.
But then don't they always!

Clare -- I love the idea of watermarking, that's really creative! And the instructions seem quite simple actually, thanks for finding those!

Denise -- congrats on PhotoImpact 11 upgrade.... I'm getting more and more tempted to check out PhotoImpact, but I'm a Photoshop girl and was lost with the free trial of PhotoImpact. I can't wait to see your newest designs. I promise not to steal them and claim them as my own! :goodvibes

By the way -- in response to all the dole whip talk, I thought I'd chime in.

The ice cream maker recipe makes INCREDIBLE pineapple ice cream, that's really pretty close in flavor. We love it! There are all kinds of websites with Disney recipes, and you'd be surprised at how do-able some of them are!

Back to reading...... I've caught up from last week, now to start this week's. Or play video games with Kyle, one of the two

Brenda there is no way tinkerbell is sexy...you are right that it would take a man to think that. I think that it's a great design and is going to look great on you!!

After sleeping most of the afternoon I did some on line research and this house has a case of food poisoning!! Thank goodness it was from eating out and not my cooking. . But I would appreciate some pixie dust over this way as Abi missed two days of school last week and looks like she will miss tomorrow.

I wanted to let you all know that I have made my design gallery private -

I made a mistake putting them out for people to use at their own discretion

While no one in this thread has upset me - I am seeing people present my designs as their own more and more in other threads throughout the DIS and even other places on the internet -

If you would like a specific design from me - you can pm me for it
Like I said before, that sucks. :grouphug:

I hope everyone is doing well. Sending pixie dust :wizard: to everyone, it sounds like everyone can use it for some reason or another. I have been super busy since I have had training for my new job the last two weeks, plus I am still working my other job full time. I will continue to work full time at my old job and part time at my new job, since the new place was unable to offer me full time hours and I need to keep my benefits. Today is my day off so I am trying to catch up and get things done.

I am working 72 hours this coming week. 8 hours which is midnight to 8am the one night. it shall be interesting. The new job wanted me to work another midnight to 8am shift but I told them I couldn't. I hope to be around but have no idea if that will happen.

Plus I still have my Brownie troop that meets once a week. That I basically run by myself. Even though I have no kids. I don't think I will have the troop next year. The parents are just using it as a babysitting service or so it seems. They want no involvement whatsoever. It makes me :sad2:  that the parents don't even want to spend 2 hours for one night every eight weeks helping the troop. Once every two months, if one parent for every girl rotated to stay and help. But that wo hours is too much to ask.

Most of the girls have one parent who is a SAHM or SAHD. They have two parents with a deccent income. But they don't want to get involved in their kids lives. :sad2: I couldn't even get all of their parents to show up a half an hour early to watch their daughters at their investiture and rededication ceremony.

I know lots of people have much bigger problems, having to attend funerals, family members ill, unable to get medicaid, still smelling :smokin: days later. I have basically spent my day off running all over doing prep work for my Brownie troop and now I am sitting here filling out all the paperwork for upcoming trips. What a wonderful way to spend my day off.

The parents complain they don't have the time because they work. I am sorry but are you working 72 hours a week??? No you might work a few hours on the weekend and homeschool your kids during the week. Sending your kids to Grandmas's, their Dad's or an Aunt's every weekend while you work. Which makes all the time to plan a field trip on a Saturday a waste because than only 2 girls could go but no one told me until the Wednesday before the scheduled trip. Sorry to vent it just has me frustrated, no wonder the world is what it is.

Becky

When Chris and I became involved in cub scouting we experienced the same lack of parent involvement. Our solution was to make family involvement mandatory. No boy is allowed to come to a meeting without bringing an adult with them. We have had an amazing turnaround. After 3 years our numbers are back up and we have met extended members of the boys families. If parents can't come we have had adult siblings, grand parents and even aunts and uncles. The best part is with so many adults with different life diversities we are able to offer so much more knowledge and ideas than just a single person running every meeting. When I feel overwhelmed I can ask each family to pick an upcoming meeting and choose a topic of interest to share with the whole group. We also have each family bring a craft project to be done for holiday gatherings etc. Low cost per family, but each child walks away with several projects. Chris and I only lead 2 groups, but this attitude has spead to our entire Pack and the involvement is awesome at each level. Even our bottle drives and fundraisers find plenty of help. It still requires a lot of time on the leaders part, but certainly helps spread the load. Maybe something like that would work for your town. It will not go over easily at first, but once it catches on it is wonderful.

I am so sorry to hear that, Kate. That is a terrible thing to do after all of the work and creativity you put into making your designs. :sad2:

Oh how I wish my dh would say that! He does not care to much for Disney, but that will not keep the boys & I from going :goodvibes I am hoping for another Oct. trip. I am already planning it, I just have not booked anything yet lol

That's the only way we get to go around here too...without hubby. I've been working for 2 years (and am still working) to get him to go on the big family trip in May 07. I'm hoping that Terra's recently continuous asking him to see Epcot fireworks with her will work some magic.

Kate. I'm so sorry that your post last week didn't end the difficulties with your design credit being stollen. It is unfortunate that everyone will not be able to explore all of the amazing designs that you have created. You have been an insiration to myself and I'm sure to many others.

Deb

Kate - I am so sorry that so many people have taken and used your designs without giving credit for them and posting them as your own. It seems today with technology certain people feel they have the right to any and everything they can use the technology to get. Society as a whole really needs to recognize artists and their abilities but unfortunately their is less and less recognition and avenues for artists and musicians.

We really appreciate what you do. Sending :grouphug: your way. I am actually suprised you waited this long and did not break down on it earlier.

Denise- If PBS does not come through to follow your families story, why not try other avenues. Around here local tv, radio, and newspapers cover this type of thing.

What about contacting them, I know you are very busy and don't have lots of time, but I truly feel if you would get your story in a newspaper, on a news program or on the radio it would help immensely(spelling??). I know you want to help your family and it doesn't seem PBS is interested another avenue might be your best bet.

Sending :wizard: and :grouphug: your way.

Becky
