Good morning all..

Bill's aunt died, so the last few days have been filled with wakes & funerals. Out of 7, his dad is the last living sibling left...sad.

My mom told me the same thing. I was concerned about starting a family....way back when. I told her I wanted to wait until I could afford to stay home. She said if you wait until you can afford it you will never have them. Today I am celebrating DS, Austin, 12th birthday. I am glad I took my mom's advice.

Lynn

Happy Happy Birthday, Austin!! :goofy: :stitch: :sulley: :tigger: :donald: :mickeyjum

On a brighter note...

Congrats Dawn!!!! I think I had everything you mentioned with each of my kids. I was/am a worrier...give it some time for your body to adjust.

I hate to admit this...but I have never heard of this Chicken Fil A...
Kristine -

I am sorry for your loss

that must have been very hard on his dad!

Sending hugs and prayers

I just found out that the actors in High School Musical do in fact sing their own songs -

the video of B5 singing "getcha your head in the game" is a bonus track -

I'm so sorry about your loss. Your dad will need a lot of support with this. My great aunt is the last of 8 and whenever she mentions that she is the only one left she begins to cry. What an empty feeling. I know that your Dad has your support and the kids will help him through.

Just wondering how dd is doing with her eye patches. I see another DDA child is now having to wear a patch and could probably benefit from your experience.

Elin - Haven't really heard from you in a few days. How is your mom doing? Have you left for PA yet? I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

I would be livid about the punishment as well

I would also ask the principal why the other child involved was not given the same punishment - after all if they were trying to make her tell the truth - he should have put both of them there until the truth was told by one of them

I would tell the principal in the future that you want to be notified immediately when you DD is sent to the principal's office

on the mom side - I would take this opportunity to teach your DD the lesson the whether it is fair or not - once you lie - you are less likely to get the benefit of the doubt in future situations - odds are the techer helper is considered a "good" student and took advantage of this favor with the teacher
I would also be livid. I used to work for a principal like this so don't be surprised if he thinks what he did is perfectly acceptable. It's an outdated technique and the punishment doesn't fit the behavior. That teaches nothing about respecting the teacher (assuming that was his goal). It humiliates and IMHO, humiliation is NEVER effective discipline.

I would also wonder about this classmate. How was this any of his business? Was he in charge of collecting homework? I'm confused, though. Did the teacher not allow her the opportunity to produce the homework and took the classmate's word instead? If that is the case, there really needs to be serious discussion with the classroom teacher. It doesn't matter if your daughter has social issues or not. Part of the teacher's job is to make her classroom a place where ALL students feel accepted and safe.

I hope you've had a positive resolution to this by now :grouphug: . Give your daughter an extra hug from us. I'm sure she needs it.

Brantley-Kate is feeling a little better today. Her temp was down this am, so I'm praying that part is over. Her face is still beet red and she's covered in the rash.

Haven't heard from my MIL yet about the surgery, so I'll keep you posted.

I called Rees' therapy clinic this am to see if they'd let PBS film him at therapy, and they were checking with the owners for approval. PD please that PBS pics us and that we get a chance to tell our story!
glad to here Brantley kate is starting to feel better.

Amy pm'ed me about this last night b/c she saw the B5 video and was wondering if it was lip synched

So I was just answering her question out loud

oh - and yeah we are watching it right now!!! it is the first she asks for in the morning - of course she only runs in the room for the songs and then runs out to go play - but she has the musical numbers down pat - she really likes how sharpay dresses!!!!

Congratulations! I had itching and hives the first trimester of my pregnancies. My body adjusting to the pregnancy hormones. It went away by second trimester. I'm not sure benadryl is safe, my dr. put me on something else for it. Might want to check with your dr.? :confused3 Relaxation tapes with soothing sounds great for insomnia I also take warm(not hot) bath with relaxing aromatic bathstuff, lavendar is one. Headaches you should have checked out by dr. as sometimes they can point to a medical problem. Hope it helps, and that you feel better soon. pixiedust:
My Dr. told me to take the Benadryl and it's on my list of safe meds during pregnancy (just in case you need to know for future reference ;) ).

I hope you had a better night last night :grouphug: . I also had to let Christopher cry it out. He would cry for hours and this went on for weeks. I sat outside his bedroom and cried along with him, and I also took a lot of heat from my family. BUT - he finally learned to put himself to sleep and has been a great sleeper since. It's tough but worth it in the end.
