Ok, Brantley-Kate is much better today! DH's Nana did well with surgery. Now, it's just wait to see if it helps improve her kidney output and failure. Still haven't heard from PBS, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I broke my wireless modem card last pm, so I have to go buy a new one today. DH was not happy. OH, well!

Oh, and if anyone is around I need some help this am! The kids are studying space and the solar system at school. We have to make "space helmets" for school tomorrow. They get to go to a "planetarium" and "outer space". It should be fun. They suggest using bike helmets which I have. Any ideas on how to convert them to space helmets? I want theirs to be the best! I thought about covering them in tin foil and adding antennae (pipe cleaners with Styrofoam balls on the ends). Any other ideas? They can be anything (themes like favorite characters, colors, etc). Just remember I have to do 3 by tomorrow!
Man, I want to go to school with your kids! :bounce: Their school really seems like fun. And they are learning a lot of stuff. Do they go to a private preschool or what? My kids never did anything like that in preschool. I'll put my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with.

Yes, it's a private pre-school at a Methodist Church. It's a really cool place! So far for the family projects we made are cows for Farmer Day, turkeys for Thanksgiving, Gingerbread men for Christmas, and now the space helmets. Don't know what Feb-May will hold, but it's sure to be fun! They also have monthly activities brought in (like puppet shows, music programs), do a water day, field day, arts and crafts day, have petting zoos, carnival last weekend, have blow ups for them to jump on. I've been thrilled with it for the past 3 years.

Tammi - we did an EMH on Saturday morning of Columbus day weekend at the MK and it was TOTALLY worth it - we got EVERYTHING in Fantasyland done by 9:15 rode Buzz lightyear and were at the rope drop for toon town by 9:45 - I highly reccomend it -

we have gone in October the last two years - feel free to pick my brain!!

Congrats on 5000 and glad you're feeling better today. And, you totally suck, because I stayed up until 1am last night watching that movie on the Disney Channel because you said it was good. Now I'm tired and it's your fault!!!:rotfl2: BTW, it was really cute, but I didn't tape it (yes, I have a VCR!!!!!!!), so I'll have to wait until it's on again. We can't get a DVR or TiVo as our TV's are all 15 years old and don't have any inputs except the coaxial cable. DH refuses to buy a new TV when these work fine. :sad2:

Oh my goodness! Your husband and mine are exactly the same! That's the same argument that I got when I requested Tivo for Christmas! I couldn't figure out how to go around that, except maybe throw a shoe at our tv, and that just goes against my grain. It was a lot of money! :scared1:

Can you think of any way to make a plastic face shield? How about putting the NASA logo on the top front, and a picture of the American flag on the side. Somehow, maybe with pipe cleaner and a foam ball, you can attach a microphone.

Oh, I'm so glad that Brantley-Kate is doing better, not to mention grandma!

About the space helmets, I like the tinfoil idea! Could you get some of those craft foam shapes for "buttons" on the helmets? What about brightly colored "jewels"? I don't know much about space helmets or those who wear them, so I'm afraid I can't help too much! Sorry.

Brilliant! We have firemen and police hats in their dress up stuff with face shields! I can just cover those with the tin foil and they'll look even better. And they got Buzz walkie talkies and police ones for Christmas. I'm sure I can put them on there some how.

Thanks!

I know, and the kids can't play any games on them either. He'll have to break down eventually (or something will have to mysteriously happen to one of the TV's...:confused3 )

Encourage her.

Believe in her.

Pray with her.

Pray for her.

Shop with her.

Give her jewelry.

Buy her flowers.

Hold her hand.

Write love letters to her.

Go to the ends of the earth and back again for her.

HOW TO TREAT A MAN:

Show up naked.

I'm not gonna lie...I'm a little concerned about your obsession with this musical. Do we need to stage an intervention? And isn't this kid 15 years younger than you?!! :teeth:

Amy :)

Amy - we have literally watched it a million times - and don't worry - I don't have a manilla folder on Zac ;)

when it is on the tv non-stop - it is hard to think of anything else!!!!

You don't have a manilla folder...YET! I'm still going to monitor your posting on this topic to make sure an intervention isn't necessary. :rotfl:

Amy :)

OMG... you guys are killing me today!! :rotfl2:

Here is my attempt at a single post rather than a quoting posting party- but I did not take notes so If I forget someone- sorry!!!

Amy- I hear you about the intervention!! But I admit I haven't watched it yet.

Kate- love the wife humor!! In DH's case, beer over chicken wings- but so true about the TV!

Tammi- We went in Oct but DS was to little to take advantage of ENH- but I highly recommend MNSSHP!

Ellen- So sorry about your friend!

Denise- can't help you with the space helmets but I hear you about the TV's- our aren't quite that old but only 1 of the 4 had the right inputs. DH is holding out for a plasma

Terri- try the febreeze and get the coats you wore to the bar out of the house (hang them in the garage for a few days to air out) And put the windows down in the garage overnight since the smell might be trapped in there.

Welcome home Marti and Paul!!!

Hope thats everyone!

Marti and Paul are really making us wait for their report......

OK, here's my question. Any of you other DVCers, feel free to chime in as well.

Do you still plan something for everyday? I am a commando planner and I can't get past the "not having something on my itinerary" idea. Do you still do a park each day. We are only going to be there Wed-Sun in Oct, but will be going back for a week in Apr/May. So, I really do want to slow down, but the OCD planner in me can't let go. We will be getting APs so that is not a factor. How do I slow down, but still get my thrill out of planning?
