I need a little help.

I'm taking my older sister to Disney. This is her first trip. I really want to go for Mousefest, but if I do, it will run into Pop Warner week. I would like to avoid that.

If I go the following week, it runs into my busy time at work...if fact, I don't know if I would be allowed to go during that time.

I would REALLY like to go the week before, just after Thanksgiving, but that runs into the last board meeting of the year when they pass my budget. Sorta can't miss that. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

So, does Mousefest and the ability to get off work easily, trump Pop Warner? And how bad is Pop Warner? I'll be staying DVC, so I don't think I'll have problems with cheerleaders doing chants in the room next door, or chanting on the buses... but it will be my sister's first visit....

I'm torn....  Help me please....

Also, my sister never showers. She only takes tub baths. It is a nightly ritual for her. So should I spring for the 1 bedroom for the jacuzzi? If I do, then I can only go Sun-Thursday. Would that trump a week in a studio???
I'm so confused. I really thought DVC would make my life easier... Now I'm going nuts with these points and choices!!! :cloud9:
Steffy - can't help you with the pop warner thing. But I will say that personally I think a few more days at Disney trumps a jacuzzi bath in the evening. So I vote for the longer stay in the smaller room.

DuBoiis/Punxsutawney. Not far from Butler at all! :goodvibes

Do you get on the Turnpike at Breezewood and head over from there? We get off at Bedford and head north from there. Mostly on two lane roads that wind through some beautiful countryside, but not nice during winter storms. :sad2:
Yes. We got out 17 to 66 to 81 to 70 to turnpike to exit 5. My parents do the Bedford thing up through Indiana, to 422. But I prefer to stay on the turnpike where I can pass people. ;)

That's all folks!!!!!!! If I don't make it back- have a great weekend!!

PS: Just heard on the news that we have 9" down so far!!

Wow!! That was fast. I hope the storm runs out of snow beore it gets to us. I don't really want another 38" blizzard like last year.

I really have nothing new to report on my Mom this morning. I am guessing that all the thoughts, prayers and pixie dust must be working. Thanks guys.
That's good! :flower:

OK, we in Virginia need a total snow count from your Chicago people. Since it was 10 degrees warmer here yesterday than you had the day before your storm, maybe (just postulating a theory here) we can figure IF the snow comes we will get 10 less inches of it?!? :rolleyes1
No, Elin. I just looked at the forecast for today. High of 68F!! :cool1:

Tammi I say go for the 7 days and tell your sister to do her relaxing at the pool! You're so lucky to be going with your sister! Especially because she's never been there before. You can plan so many cool things to do. An all adult trip is really different then one with the kids!
I've never been to the parks when it's Pop Warner time, so, sorry, I can't answer that for you. When isnthat anyway? It honestly sounds like it's the only time you can go comfortably, so I say go for it. You'll make it fun and you'll have fun no matter when you go anyway!

We are looking at about 5 inches for us...lot's of ice. My car looks like a turtle, hard shell of ice completely covering it. Hope this is it!

I've been shoveling... snow that is!! We havent had much snow at all (I hear you on the snow plow gathering dust in the garage!!)

Well, I'm chaperoning the high school band trip, we leave early am - (going to Wisconsin Dells indoor water park)

It was so beautiful, I had to try and capture the memory - so I was so shocked that it actually turned out (I'm a point and shoot kinda girl - I turned knobs, and clicked!!)

The stick in the middle is my 5year old Red Maple tree - app 5'5" tall - the blob in the lower left is our mailbox, I'm in the street!! Snowplows finally showed up!!

Now there's a picture I'd like to see :teeth:

I need to ask you all for some pixie dust and prayers. (Although mine seems so small in comparison with the others the last couple of days) I found out last night that my husband will be going in to his last day of work this morning. They are closing the store that he is working at with little notice to everyone. This wouldn't be to big of a deal if I knew he would actually go out and look for another job but it took seven months of sitting on his hiney to even look for this job....AND as you can see from my signature we are trying to go to WDW this summer for our first trip. Hard to do that on just my income.

So I am a little stressed out :earseek: !!

Yesterday though I made a funny typo in the Sunday bulletin for all to see. For the Men's Retreat I put the meeting place as Templed HELLS instead of Templed Hills. Can't wait to hear about that on Monday.

Thanks for letting me vent.

great pic Eeyore45. I love all that snow and I wish we would get some of that!!

Hi Steffy - I just had to weigh in on this one -- this is your first time doing DVC right?? I learned a valuable lesson last October when I did our vacation for everybody else BUT my family..... so maybe you can learn from my mistake. Don't try to please anybody but yourself. I know that sounds harsh but what I've learned (especially from disney newbies) they are going to be in awe anyway -- and the little touches won't really get noticed. There are so many big things to notice!!!!! I was so worried about everybody else (whom I couldn't please all of the time anyway) that I didn't enjoy our vacation AT ALL. I certainly would not book a room for less time, just to get a jacuzzi tub. There is a shower/tub in the studio! I think your sister would be much happier with more days to take in all the details. You spend so little time in the room anyway - take more time to show her the parks.

As for Pop Warner, I don't think it impacts you unless you stay at the resorts in which they stay. I do know that they close down MGM a little early one night - I believe 05s was on December 9 - which affected Fantasmic. But I'm sure you can plan around that.

But no matter what we all say here at the DDA - follow your heart. You know your sister best and do what is right for your family. Either way, you'll have a great time!

Sorry I can't help other than to offer :grouphug: - but maybe this summer's Disney trip will offer him some incentive. Hope you get through this with as little stress as possible!!!!
