Tammi -

it is EXACLTY like grease - they meet out of town - she transfers to his school - their friends don't want them together - even the Finale will remind you of grease!! maybe that is why I love it!!

I don't know anything about Nanny McPhee - but I have a thing about teeth - so there is NO WAY I could ever watch it!!!

There's a thread on the CB about this movie. Apparently, there's quite a twist at the end. One of the posters gave a spoiler, so if you want to know what happens, you can ask me or check out her post on the thread. I think it sounds cute. I'll probably take my DD and DS soon.

Ah, so he has you trained. And he is old enough now to know that that is what you are supposed to do. And he knows that when he cries, you will come. It is very hard for us, as parents, not to respond to our children crying, but for your own sanity, he needs to learn how to comfort himself. Once you and your DH decide you are going to do this, you need to be firm and stick to it. Don't do it for just a few days and give up. He will know he has won, and you are just reinforcing his behavior. Don't feel like you are a bad mommy for letting him cry and cry. We have all been there, done that. We are here to support you.
Thanks. I will talk to DH tonight.

Ok, I'll fess up. I had the Michael Jackson life in photos album. I've actually seen it kicking around somewhere within the last decade. I think it has been thrown out now, but who knows.

And now she is truly becoming a Disney Design Addict. :rotfl2: My family think I'm crazy. Luckily, I have a laptop with a wireless connection to the internet so I can sit in the living room with the family while I'm feeding my addiction. Welcome to the club!!!! Here's some pixie dust to get you started. :wizard:
This is what I am working toward. I finally got my cable modem, so maybe in a few months I will have that laptop and be wireless.

Okay y'all I have given in to the DDA. I've bought my PhotoImpact *ouch* on the price and I'm about to install it. I just wanted to memorialize my installation, since I fully expect either my computer to melt down under the new strain or conversly not melt down and I'll never be seen or heard from by my family again because I'll be doing this. Or lastly, I'll never figure out this program and I'll have to hide in shame forever. So here at the home of the DDA, I throw myself on the mercy of the computer gods and hope for some pixie dust!

Is it too much? The husband is giving me the eyeball like I'm going crazy. Is this how it starts???? :lmao:

Yep, pretty much! Welcome to the madness :goodvibes

I don't embarrass easily. I've made a fool of myself most of my life. :rotfl2:

Amy :)

Yeah, I'm with you there! Although I used to embarrass easily.... which was BAD news, so now I just embrace it

i can't believe I missed the posting party this afternoon!!! Congrats Kate on 5000!!

Eeyorecln, as I wrote before the crying it out is so much harder on parents than the child. Just make sure you and DH are showing a unified front! Not sure who posted the book, but I too have the book by Dr Ferber 'Solve Your Childs Sleep Problem' and highly recommend it. There is a section for older kids too (I know 17 months isn't that old but it is almost a year older than when I did it.)

Good luck :grouphug: We're here for you!

DH actually needs the computer for work tonight so I guess I'll catch up in the morning! Have a good night!!!!

I have to say it is awesome!!! I have a board I put across the arm of my recliner, put the laptop on the board, and recline while I'm designing (or reading to get more ideas that I'll never have time to design because there just aren't enough hours in the day).

that's a shame - DH and I always thought they should have made the door scene a ride - where it was like you were hanging on one of the doors as you looped through the scene!!! They could have made it a little faster yet child friendly!!!

The door scene is in the ride, but alas, you're merely an observer.

It just seemed a bit "safe" and "off the shelf" to me.

Kate congratulations on 5000!

Everybody feel better!

I'm going to have to take a raincheck on the grandbaby pictures. The ones I have have forcepts marks on his face. The next set he has jaudice. :rolleyes1

He's adorable though.... They come home tomorrow. :cloud9:

I'm reading the PhotoImpact manual. Oh joy. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yes, I'm going to give designing a try. Stop laughing tinker1bell! :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: cut that out!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm serious. I'm going to design. I have PhotoImpact Pro 10.0. I'm going to learn how to put a tshirt together. Really. Stop laughing!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Back to studying... :surfweb:

Ellen - Happy birthday! Although it is VERY late in coming :)

Kate - Hope you feel better by now.

Thank you everyone for my Birthday wishes!! DH took me to dinner and a play, so we just got home. The play was very different, a dark comedy called Vigil. Anyway we had a good night.

Kate, congrats on post 5000, and I hope you feel better soon.

And lastly, I just received a very upsetting e-mail when I got home tonight. A friend that I have known for almost all my life is in the last stages of melanoma. They were advised today to begin end of life planning. They have 3 boys ages 15, 18 and 21, that my boys have been friends with over the years. She has been through more than you can imagine, including having both of her feet amputated in November due to a blood infection she got while her immune system was knocked out for a treatment. Anyway, they have been through so much, and now I believe it is time for it to end. It is so sad, and yet inevitable from what I understand. And I suppose it is time for the suffering to end for her, and for her family to try to begin to heal. But it is still just so incredibly sad and hard for me to comprehend. Well, I just needed to get that out.

I need to go to bed.

Ellen -- While your birthday seems to have gone well, I am so sorry that the news you received tonight was so sad. Lots of thoughts for both you and the family of your friend.

Happy Birthday Ellen!

:cheer2: party: :cake: :bday:

So sorry you had to come home to such bad news. :grouphug:

Did anybody else receive a copy of Disney Home magazine?

I should have said ooky. That does describe it better, doesn't it?
