Prayers for the family. What a horrible accident, I hope he can fully recover.

It is really horrible. He'll be in the burn unit for at least 3 weeks, and then there will be skin graft surgeries for his hands and his back. I'm going to Jill's today with some freezer meals for the family. I'll keep you all updated.

YEAH!!! I am mostly done with the shopping, but only a few wrapped so far.

I forgot to tell you that I had a dream about you the other night! Terra and I came out to Utah to babysit for Mary and Leslie, only there was a cute little baby in the family as well. Apparently, we just came out so that you and Alan could go to a movie. Then you came home and Alan made tacos for everyone! It was a lot of fun. Now if only we can make that not the closest I come to actually getting to meet you. :goodvibes

Ok, you are FREAKING ME OUT!!!! I had a dream about a new baby in our family as well! Yikes!!!!

Hey, if you came all the way out here to babysit so Alan and I could go to a movie, believe me, you'd get WAY more than tacos!!!!!

Photo time

I love the house!!!! Ralph would definitely be able to make himself at home there! I recognize the furniture, too! We had the Little People house with all that furniture as well. It is still at my parents house, and my kids love playing with it, now!

 How is everyone's day going?

Tia - I hope you are getting everything done that you need to for your trip.

Chanon - Yes, you did hear talk of a duck tour in Pittsburgh. Elin is on a quest to do all duck tours. I'm assisting her in her ambition.

Tom - Good to see you. Enjoy your time off and Happy Anniversary!!!!

Looks like you had a great time in NYC! Wish I had been there, too!

Glynis - when you cook your caramelized bacon - you just cook right on the jelly roll pan? Not on something that will drain the grease?

I line my pan with foil, and then spray it with Pam. I've never had too much problem with excess grease. But the foil makes clean up a snap!

Good Morning Everyone!

I have been very busy the last few days and haven't had a chance to post. I am finally off for 5 days, so I am hoping to get some things done.

We are getting our family pictures done this week, and while we are at the mall, Leighanna will see the "real" Santa. We have had a yearly photo of her with him since she was born, so I don't want to miss this year too! He is a very good Santa with a real beard, so she always calls him the real one! Hopefully she won't be asking for Butterscotch the Pony! :rotfl:

Friday is our company's Christmas party, so we have a sitter for that night. It is also our 22nd wedding anniversary. I can't beilieve it has been that long. We got married when we were 19, and a few relatives said that it would never work out. I bet they are eating their words about now! :goodvibes

All the pictures with Santa have been fantastic! Hopefully I will get a good one on Thursday and I will post it then.

We are hoping to get our tree this weekend. We have 3 "artificial" ones in the garage, but my wife remembers having a "real" tree as a child, and all the memories she has of it. She wants Leighanna to have the same memories of going out in the cold and searching for the "perfect" tree. It is fun, but a lot of work.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Saying prayers for everyone that needs it. :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug: :wizard:

Hi Tom!! Enjoy your time off! I can't wait to see your pictures of Leighanna with Santa! Have fun picking your tree! Those are fun memories!

Happy Anniversary to you and your wife! 22 years is an awesome achievement!

Well, I'm off to take the girls to preschool. Then it's off to Walmart to pick up my last Layaway!!! I also need to pick up POC2 for Alan's stocking. Then to Walgreen's to get some presents for the kids teachers. They have chocolates on sale this week, and you can never have enough chocolate!!!

Talk to y'all later!

Pretty good here..I am about halfway done working on my paper..Im just waiting for the professor to email me back and i can completely finish it since I am home today.
I got a call from work asking if i can work from 3-6..not long, but im broke, so i said yes...Hopefully i can get this paper done and relax a bit before I go in..itll be nice to see the kids again though.

Other than t hat, as long as i get this homework done , ill be happy!

Asking for some help and/or suggestions here.....

As I mentioned earlier, Alyssa is asking for the Amazing Allysen doll. She even asked Santa for him when she went to talk to him. This is after my prodding that if she doesn't go see Santa he won't know what to bring her. Now I feel obligated to get this for her. But I've read so many things from parents that the doll is annoying, their kids haven't played with it much, didn't work properly, etc. How would you handle this?

Also, I was thinking of getting her the American Girl doll instead of this. I thought if I could get her the AG Just Like Me doll (same hair/skin tone/eye color) and a matching outfit, maybe she wouldn't be as upset if she didn't get Allysen. BUT......the smallest clothes size that they sell for kids is 7/8. Alyssa is a 5. Does anyone know of any places where I can get matching doll/kid clothes? Do any of the stuffy bear places sell matching kid outfits to go with the bear outfits?

I have finally caught up from this weekend and wanted to say that I will be praying for your neighbor and his family!!

Let's see how much I can do from memory!!

Tammi- my girls have always known Santa brings one item on their list at his discretion. I think an AG is a much better idea than Amazing Allyson doll...I know that there are seamstresses around here that do the matching outfits maybe that's an avenue?? Glad to hear Nicholas's birthday party was fun...It sounds funny but you should be happy that his dad wasn't at the party...whenever my deemed it okay to come to one of our parties he somehow ruined it!!

Becky- hope the doctor's visit goes well

Elin- I think Dodd hall may just be haunted!! Your tree is beautiful.

Ellen- can't wait to hear about your new grandbaby. Your tree is also beautiful!!

Deb-the Lincoln Log house is awesome!! Hope it passes muster.

Tom- Congrats on 22 years of marriage. We also married young and have lasted 15 years....much to the dismay of some of the naysayers!! Enjoy your time off and get some sleep.

Jen- hope we hear soon about your school placement!!

I know I've missed others so some :grouphug: and :wizard: for all!!

Thanks, Theresa. Maybe I will have a talk with the kids tonight about how Santa might not bring everything that they ask for, and/or he might have something even better in mind. I found a few websites that sell matching girl/doll clothes in Alyssa's size. Looks like I can get both outfits for about $50.

Now I need pixie dust and advice!!

Jim fell this morning on a small patch of ice. His arm will be in a sling for a couple of weeks.....I don't drive (don't have a license...long story) so we need pixie dust that he won't find driving hard to Golden. That's the need for pixie dust.

advice:

Cassidy thinks Abi found Cassidy's present from the big man....what do I do? This really is his last year coming to my house...either that or he doesn't come back this year??? HELP!!!

Simple solution

since Cassidy knows - tell her that you are going to put somethine else under the tree from Santa to her - and that after Christmas she can go exchange it for the real present
