2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wraps

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Absolutely

5. When do you put your decorations up? Week or two before Christmas

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Mom's fruit salad

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? My Uncle Lee & Grandpa coming to stay with us Christmas Eve.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? My mother asked me how I liked the mittens she made. I told her I thought Santa brought them in my stocking. We never discussed it again! After all, Santa only comes for those who believe!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? With colored Christmas lights and the special ornaments that we received over the years from family & friends.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love snow as long as I don't have to drive somewhere in it.

12. Can you ice skate? Have you ever fallen on the ice? Yes, and Yes

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? The matching cowboy/gowgirl outfits that my Uncle Lee bought for my brother & I when we were little. We got the whole thing - hat, shirt, skirt for me & pants for brother, boots, holster & guns. That was an awesome Christmas. We didn't usually get many presents.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Way too many to pick.

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum

How funny - I got this from my SIL yesterday, too!

Here are my answers:

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Sets them out

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White!

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope

5. When do you put your decorations up? I usually try for right before Thanksgiving (everything but the tree), but this year, everything finally made it up yesterday!

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? My mom's stuffing!

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? The traditions of Christmas Eve - all the grandparents and adopted grandparents coming for Christmas dinner, going to the candlelight service, opening one present, and then high-tailing it to bed, where my brother and I would watch the clock until we were allowed out of bed at 7 a.m.!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
What - he's not real? ;) He is always real to me!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Not any more, but we did as kids. We would spend days shaking gifts, picking out which one we wanted to open!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? White lights, and lots of ornaments! (I have a thing for ornaments.) Some are sentimental, and most are either Disney-related, or Santas!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it - but that's probably because we rarely see it. Don't know how I'd feel about it if I had to shovel it all the time!

12. Can you ice skate? Have you ever fallen on the ice? Yes, and Yes

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? It was probably either the year that I got the Strawberry Shortcake Berry Happy Home, or my Annie Mansion!

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? The traditions, and spending time with loved ones .

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? My grandmother's Spritz Cookies, and my Gingerbread!

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas Eve - we still have dinner, and go to a candlelight service.

17. What tops your tree? A big bow!

18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? Giving!

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? That's a tough one. For religious songs, I love "Joy to the World", "O Holy Night", and the "Hallelujah Chorus." For secular songs, I love "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town."

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yuck - I hate peppermint stuff!

yes this is what I read as well. I think they will start a new thread for the red carpet walk. I have found some gowns I like. If I am not working I will participate.

We are leaving tomorrow morning to go to my parents house. My dad is playing Scrooge in a production of A Christmas Carol, so we're going to see that. It should be a lot of fun! It will be a quick trip, as we'll be back Saturday night, but I still have to pack for 6 of us as well as get the car ready to go.

Good morning (or afternoon) everybody!

Welcome home to those just returning. Seriously, you guys can't keep just teasing us with the promise of trip reports! That's just not nice. ;)

Jen - here's some :wizard: that you get to feeling bettter.

Debbie - thanks for the card! My nieces are visiting me this weekend, and I'm going to let them do the honors of dressing the snowman. :goodvibes

Well, I've got a ton to do, but hadn't checked in since Tuesday, but I'm all caught up again. I took the day off from "regular" work yesterday, and spent it finishing the decorating of my house, picking things up, etc. My BIL, SIL, and two nieces are coming to visit us this weekend, and we still have a ton of stuff to do for their arrival. Tonight I'll be moving all the gifts/wrapping paper out of the guest bedroom so they'll have somewhere to sleep, grocery shopping, etc. I am so tired! But at least my tree finally made it up - it took me 7 hours yesterday  , but it's done!

I don't know why, but things seem so much more hectic this year - and I even love Christmas, and don't dread it like some! I did tell DH last night - I'm looking forward to WDW, not just because it's Disney, but because while we're there we'll get to concentrate on enjoying ourselves and the season - there won't be any cleaning, wrapping, decorating, baking, or errand-running going on!

Have a great day everyone!

Is anyone on the cheer team going to do the runway walk? I have been reading & not sure if I missed the answer. I still am not sure if it is supposed to be just a picture of a dress or if it can be on a model. Anyone know for sure?
Unfortunately I have been so busy with RL that I don't even know what you are talking about!!! Some cheerleader I am turning out to be. :(

Jen, I hope you are feeling better and that you don't have anything too serious.

Welcome home to those who just got back.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments on our new granddaughter. Everyone seems to be doing fine, but the baby's bloodwork shows some infection, so they will be most likely keeping her on the IV antibiotics for at least 7 days, so she won't be able to come home until after that. She doesn't show any other signs of sickness, and she has been on the antibiotics right from birth, so they are hoping that there won't be any problems. She had another blood test last night, but I haven't heard the results from that yet.

Prayers and PD :wizard: for those who need it.

Are they checking for strep, Ellen? That is what happened when our older DD was born. We both ran a fever during labor and delivery and it was determined that she was born with a systemic strep infection which
i so lovingly gave to her and all subsequent pregnancies. The treatment now is so much easier than 28 years ago!

OK, I just sort of skimmed the pages from while we were gone, so let me know if I missed anything huge!

Ellen - Congrats on the new grandbaby! She is beautiful! I hope she is able to come home soon!

Jen - Hope you are feeling better!

Tammi - Sorry I didn't leave my phone #! Travel brain, you know. I had every intention of calling you again later in the trip but that obviously didn't happen! The Santa pic is gorgeous!

Vicki, Jennifer & Terry - Glad you all made it home safely!

Just a pop in before moving onto the next task. Everything is now printed!!!!! Autograph pages, transfers, cards, envelopes, binder pages...YEAH! The shirts are in the washer as we speak. The Santa suit will be finished as soon as Mom is done with the kitchen table. It's so nice to see my list with so many things getting crossed out. We may make it after all.

I think that is one of the possibilities. The doctor said that there are only a small # of infections that newborns can get, and that the antibiotics that they are giving her will cover all of those plus many more. He said that they are trying to grow out the bacteria but that it takes at least 5 days and doesn't always show anything, but that it doesn't really matter because she is on all the medication anyway.

Spoke with them a bit ago and the subsequent bloodwork does confirm infection, but she still appears perfectly healthy. They will continue the antibiotics for at least the full 7 days regardless, and more if necessary. The problem is they are talking about discharging DDIL tomorrow, but not the baby, so she is very upset about that, and said she will not leave the hospital. They do have a room for new mothers to use when their babies are in the hospital, but I don't think it will be terribly conducive to recovering from the c-section. I feel bad for them because I know how emotional she must be right now, but I do think that everything is going to be ok. I'll keep you posted.
