I so wanted to come on here and tell everybody about it, it was also one I was so hoping wouldn't happen. Though I know June is home and happy and healthy, it's not an experience I want to ever happen again.

Sometimes we have to trust in the Lord. It's a tough thing! I went through the same thing a few years ago with my grandfather. It was tough, but I can look back and say how glad I am that he was released from his pain and suffering.

During all this sadness today, Leighanna took it upon herself to try to cheer me up. She told me to come into the family room and this is what I found.
teaparty3.jpg

She said that a tea party with all her Disney friends, would sure to make any one happy. And you know what it did.

Teaparty2.jpg

I told her that Batman wasn't part of Disney. She said that he was there for me. I asked her why? She said he is a superhero, and that I was her superdad.

God sure knew what he was doing the day Leighanna was born.

Kids definitely know how to cheer someone up. How adorable!!

Morning DDA! All caught up! I'm actually debating going into work this morning...I have a dr's appt at 11am and am scheduled at 9am. No matter what, I get an occurance from work, so what's the point going in at 9 and leaving if I'll get an occurance anyways right? :teeth:
:thumbsup2 Love the reasoning. And you got Paula's dancing bunny. I love that guy totally cute. Hope your dr appt goes well. :wizard:

Apparently I don't belong.
Of course, I don't know people soo...

You're a Disney Fan!You're above average in the world of Disney. If you study harder and take the test again, I'm sure you could be an elite fan in no time. You're working your way up to the best. Just remember that Tinker Bell is spelled in two words and that Anastasia is not a Disney movie and you should be fine.

Christi, You also must remember there is one big difference between you and I. You have 4 kids and I have none. Taking care of those kids whether they are in school or not takes up an incredible amount of your energy. :thumbsup2 So while I am doing a variety of different things you are caring for your kids and your family which is very time consuming.

Are things any better at home these days?? :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug:
he's not speaking much the past day or 2. Oh well at least someone's being quiet around here. :rotfl:

I posted my last post at 12:40 a.m. At 1:00 I was calling 911. I had just gone from the kitchen into the living room when Bob went into the kitchen to let the dog out. I heard him say, "Elin... you are going to have to give me a hand. We have a problem." I went into the kitchen and the whole top of our stove was on fire. After trying to smother the fire with pot lids and having no luck, I ran into the laundry room and threw the breaker. I then called 911 and the fire dept. was here within 10 minutes. Damage to the stove is not too severe and the rest of the counter top is not bad either. But our house REEKS of smoke, even though they used their high powered fans to suck it out. I ate dinner out with friends tonight and Bob did not use the stove to cook his dinner. The fire marshall thinks it was probably a short in the burner.

Now, for some odd reason I am WIDE AWAKE and don't think I will sleep much tonight. Just had to come on here and "talk" to someone about it since Bob is as upset as I am.

Oh Elin. I'm so sorry about the mess but so happy that Bob went to let the dog out to find it before it got worse! :grouphug:

Zachary has a blanket like that. It is just a plain white blanket with yellow ribbon around the edges but he'll run his fingers along the ribbon around the whole blanket. It's raggedy and the ribbon edging might come off. Unfortunately, I can't make it disappear as when he really gets overwhelmed that's what he'll do once he calms down is rub his blankie. I don't know what we'll do if it falls apart as it seems to be his anchor for his emotional problems. Of course DH is like just make him another one, me the person who flunked sewing in Home EC. :rotfl2: He just automatically assumes since my grandma was such a seamstress in her younger years that I have that gene. It must have skipped me. :teeth: At least I got her cooking gene. He seems to enjoy that better anyway. :)

When Katrina's blanket fell apart, she had a hard time falling asleep at night or when she was stressed. When Becky was born, I bought two identical blankets so that I didn't have the same problem. We switched them off so she knew there was 2 right from the start. She was fine as long as she had one of them.

For those of you who've never been to Whispering Canyon Cafe, I had no choice whether or not I wanted to be the Statue of Liberty. :rotfl2: I was sitting there and next second I know someone is playing in my hair. It was the waitress, turns out she is stuffing the straws into my ponytail, but I honestly had not idea what she had done to me. Next thing she takes my camera and is telling me to hold up my milkshake like the statue of Liberty and that is what results. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately straw papers and rain don't mix, as I left the straws in my hair when I left the Wilderness lodge and it was raining.

:teeth: We are planning on going to WCC Dec. next year for our GG trip with my sister and parents. It sounds like fun. Is there anyway to request they do that to my sister. :teeth: That would be amusing.

I'm almost to a personal milestone so I'll have to bore you with trivial things.

At yesterday's pediatric appoint my boys behaved poorly. I must say that I was so embarassed as they are always well behaved in public. So the doctor asks Nick what grade he is in and he says "sixth" he's in fifth. He asked him if he still attended the same school he replied "no". I wanted to smack him. When asked what he did all summer he responded video games and tv. I guess he forgot about camping for 4 weeks with no video games. Do you always wear your seat belt "no". I figure that Social Services will be in here any moment now hauling them away from their clearly incompetent mother. I think that they were just nervous about having to have their testicles checked as that is all they talked about for days before the appointment. I tried to tell them that it was just a normal thing and that girls have it much worse, but I have no other way to explain their behavior. They really thought they were being funny :furious: It's a good thing that the pediatrician has known us since we were kids or I'd be in trouble. I explained to the kids how what they said made me look bad and they were very sorry and didn't realized, but still I as so embarassed.

Deb
I am so sorry but I am just cracking up at this. :lmao: I am sure it wasn't funny at the time for you though.

Dana is taking me for lunch after we put her on the bus to cheer me up but I am going to miss having my baby around all day. She is a real "mommy's girl".
Check back later.
:grouphug: I can't imagine how much I'll cry when Effie goes. Hope she has a good first day. :wizard:

You are just a couple of months older than me then. I have a long way to go to my birthday 111661. Of course, the way the DDA chats, we'll be there by the end of the year. :lmao:

I am staying in bed today

I might have to get up to eat and go see my kids tonight but other than than - I am not moving!! My knee is very angry with me!!

My kids are at my mom's this week - which is a good thing except Nick has made the decision that I am not his mom anymore - my mom is - which is a little difficult - last night when I left you should have seen the panic in Julia's eyes when she asked "do I have to go with you?"

But that's okay b/c when Nick fell and got hurt last night it was still his mommy he ran to!!!!
:grouphug: That is hard. Isn't it funny how when a boo boo occurs they still do that no matter what they say. My Caleb was complaining how I was so mean when he was in a timeout the other day and how he wanted a new mommy but when he scraped his elbow the next day he wanted me to hold him and make it all better. :goodvibes
I do hope PT gets easier on you. :wizard:

It's amazing what kids will do sometimes when they are stressed. Hopefully, now that you've explained that it made you look bad, they'll not do it again in the future. :grouphug:

I am glad that your prayers were with her. Although it may have been hard it helped her to find peace and be in a world with no pain. :grouphug:

Nope. I feel like I've known you all for years! I feel closer to you than to most of my "real life" friends! With you all I can express all my fears that I try to keep hidden from people around here. I guess that's why I call us a family! I know that you are there for me, no matter what, with no judgement! That's very comforting!
:thumbsup2 I agree. Nice to let our fears out without being judged.

Hi. I hope everyone's day is going good. Mine has been busy so far, but I've just had a few minutes to catch up. Has anyone heard from Elin yet today?

Looks like I'll have to study up on my Disney. Figured I'd be the first to post and have you elite's laugh at me!

You're a Pooh-Hugger!
You are what the Disney Elite call a Pooh Hugger.
You probably love Pooh, Tigger, Mickey, Goofy or
any of the other mass-marketed characters, which is
fine, but you don't know much about the character's
backgrounds or the company that makes them.
Maybe you're interested in learning more or maybe not.
Until you are, though, you'll have to deal with
being laughed at by the elite fans.
Sorry.
