We had dinner at Concourse Steakhouse. Food was great, service OK. I would skip this one in favor of more park time next time.

These photos are for the Figs...

I love Lake George. Wonderful memories from a summer there in 1977. I think the closest DDA to that area would be June... :worried:

Has there been any recent news on June?

We are a little over 3 hours from Lake George, but we have a full weekend here.

Great photos, Bernadette! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Contemporary! I know that it's not everyone's first choice, but there is so much magic there for me. We stayed there on our first trip in January 1972. It's also so nice to be able to walk to/from the Magic Kingdom.

Day 4 MGM-we had lots of great character interaction here. Friar Tuck was thrilled to see his photo on a card and then flipped when he saw Robin Hood with Maid Marion but then asked Robin Hood why he hadn't married her yet. Its amazing what they can say without words. Emma wouldn't go near them. Kept saying Robin isn't Disney because we have a Wishbone (the dog) version of Robin Hood on some movie we have. :teeth:

We had lunch at Sci Fi which we all really enjoyed. For dinner DH & I went to Alfredos while my friends watch the kids and did laundry (did I say how great she is????). We had a nice meal. We stayed at Illuminations:

Day 5-had breakfast at CP. Great as usual. I LOVE this breakfast. After breakfast we met up with my friend and her DD. This is the day we saw Capt Jack. Emma, Joe and my friends DD wouldn't ride PoC so DH & I hung out between the ride and store. Then we rode PoC while the other adults stayed with the kids.

Joe & Emma were getting cranky so I took them back to the hotel while DH & Lizzie stayed with my friend & her DD. Our other friends who came with us had their dinner alone at Le Chef de France. They said it was awesome. DH called me after a while saying he had been waiting nearly an hour for a bus and couldn't remember our hotel name. :confused3 Did I say this was day 5????

Day 6 we went to Epcot. Road Soarin and Emma HATED it! Saw Turtle Talk for the first time-it was great! Holding Emma I realized she had a fever-kept her in her stroller the rest of the day. We were going to do Test Track but it broke. We could see a car stuck on the track. This is Joe's favorite ride and when he saw that he didn't want to go on it again. We walked over to YC for a bus to DTD to have dinner at Raglan Road. All the adults on the trip agree this was the best meal of the trip. Food and service were great. Emma slept through the meal in her stroller.

We saw this guy at World of Disney:

Day 7 (friends DH flew home early) started with Emma vomiting so DH stayed in the room with her. My friend, Lizzie, Joe & I took the bus to MK and then took monorail to TTC. We asked for a ride up front and got an awesome driver. He actually stopped the monorail so that he could take a photo of the 4 of us with my camera. He let Lizzie (Joe wouldn't do it?) sit in the driver's seat(uh...while the monorail was in the station-waiting for the next batch of passengers to board...). He was really great. I've been up front when the driver didn't say a word. We got a fast pass for Soarin and were going to ride Figment but is was broken. We had the worst luck with ride break downs. I've never had as many before. We got the best seats in Soarin-front row middle section. I was really glad to see it again as I had been cosoling Emma the day before. We rode Test Track and while Joe asked "what if its broken" he seemed satisfied with the they fixed it yesterday answer. I was really glad we got him back on it because I didn't want him to fear it on our next trip. We toured all the countries so Lizzie & Joe could make masks and get their cards signed. We saw lots of characters around America but they were all about to go in but we did get autographs from Mr Penguin and the Country Bears.

We went back to the hotel to have dinner at Boatwrights. We thought Emma would be OK in her stroller but she was vomiting again just as they were seating us so DH took her back to the room and I brought a meal back to him. The food was again good and they let us have any drink and the kids could order any app. (Joe got Shrimp cocktail and they nicely brought Lizzie just a bowl of grape tomatoes) but I'd rather have something quicker in the parks.

Day 8-check out day. The entire 2 hours that I packed Emma screamed "We are NOT going home today....We are NOT going HOME today....We are NOT going home TODAY...." non stop. The poor thing. So we packed up and checked our bags will bell services and took the bus to MK. Joe fell asleep on the bus so we knew he must be sick. DH took Lizzie & Emma on Pooh while I took Joe (in the stroller) to get fast passes for Buzz. I took Lizzie & Emma on the Teacups-I knew she was feeling better when she requested this ride. We tried to get DH to take Joe to first aid but he sat with him in the shade while we rode Buzz and TTA. Then my friend brought DH & Joe to first aid while I took Emma to pick out her first set of ears and buy the photopass CD. First aid was great! They gave Joe some motrin and let him lie down (we had no room to go to). I was glad Emma's last moments at Disney were very happy ones. Joe was much better by the time we got on the ME bus to the airport. Lucky for us Lizzie wasn't vomiting until the car ride home from the airport.

Here's the view from our room at POFQ:

Bernadette -- your pictures are WONDERFUL. Please remind me what camera you were using. Thanks!

No further news from Melanie. She has not called me back yet so I have nothing to report on June's condition.

I'm loving the pictures and trip report!

Thanks. Sony W7. The model available now is a W70-its smaller than mine but has a larger screen and uses a lithium battery so it must be quicker to recharge the flash and of course is cheaper too. I've had some issues with it not being able to focus-particularly in the rain but I would think many point & shoot digitals have simular issues.

I would really like to do something for June. Do you think she'd enjoy some Disney stories on tape? Something for her to just listen to while recovering? Do you have her address?

Bernadette,

Sounds like you do need to go back girl!!!! I am sorry your kids got sick.

Just popping to say hi,

Kristine and Denise you guys are doing amazing, you can definitely see a difference, keep up the good work.

Karen - I'm so sorry about all the sadness in your life right now, you are in my prayers. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Elin - if you ever get bored and need something else to organize I'll have to give you my address, I keep telling my DH we need to back the truck up to the door and start pitching things.

Kate - hope your feeling better

Bernadette - your pictures are great, as I was reading your report I thought of myself. We did a lot of babysitting this trip and took and afternoon break everyday with our DGS, on the way home I was thinking that he didn't get to do a lot of things, but then it came to me, he'll have a lot of new experiences on the next trip. We had a good time and that's all that really matters, and the afternoon breaks were great.

Beth and Anne Marie - love your pictures also

Tammi - I think it was you who posted the link to the Disney Audio site, thanks so much, I found the perfect music for my PP slideshow, now all I have to do is finish it.

Paula - Hope you're having a great reunion

June - I hope you know how much you mean to everyone here and that we're all pulling for you.

The plumbing drama is at a temporary cease fire, but I'm not so sure that the problem is fixed, if we do have any more problems we have proved to the water company that it is there problem and they will have to fix it, DH is limping around today, he's not as young as he used to be, and spending the day digging up the yard kind of did him in.

I'm still totally overwhelmed at work and don't see an end in sight, I haven't had a panic attack in over a week about things so I guess that's a good sign.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend,

Chat with ya later,
Debbie

:disrocks:

Debbie, I just saw on the other thread that you are making a Power Point of your trip. I think that is a terrific idea! I want to work on it slowly with the help of my kids over the next several months. I have never used Power Point, but my older two are good with it and will teach me something new. Could you please post or PM me the link to the Disney audio? I think I missed that discussion last time.

That's great! What music did you choose? I would love to see it when you get it done.

Happy Labor Day DDA!

Quick update:
We were discharged yesterday morning, but not home yet. My mother and MIL were concerned about me having to be by myself with Caroline since Brian goes back to work tomorrow, so they convinced us to stay at my inlaws house for a few days. Well, they want at least a week, but I think I'm too anxious to be home for that. It is nice to have help until we get into a routine with the monitor and medicine. We're also still trying to adjust feeding times and amounts. She's been more awake and alert the last few days and is eating more.

Home Health will be coming several times this week and once a week after that to help monitor her weight and assess her. So far everything is going well. We had LOTS of false alarms with the monitor last night and she was very fussy. We didn't get to sleep until around 6am. We were up by 8am, but that's because Christopher was anxious to hang out with us.

It's difficult to get to the computer here so I probably won't be posting much. I will check in on PM's if I can. For those of you who email me, I probably won't get them here so PM's are better. I know I have some to read right now, but I'm almost out of battery on the laptop. I'll try to get back in a few hours.

As for me, I'm feeling pretty good. I took a nice long shower and I actually plan to put makeup on today or tomorrow :teeth: .

I would appreciate it if someone would PM me an update on June and let me know if there is anything more I should know, or if anyone else needs prayers. Again, thank you all for your prayers for Caroline and our family.

I hope you all have/are having a wonderful day!!

Dawn
Yeah so glad Caroline is out of the hospital. Take care of yourself and we will PM you if their is anything Important you need to know.

Hi, everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good holiday. It is nice and rainy here (we NEED the rain), and I've spent the day getting caught up on things around the house. Other than that, our weekend had been pretty quiet, although we did do a marathon trip to/from Austin on Saturday for the first Longhorn game of the season. Man, was it HOT!!!

As an update, our Florida/WDW trip was short, but great. We had a wonderful time at the BC, some really good meals, great character interaction, and what I thought were really light crowds (I was even there the same time last year, and noticed a BIG difference). Other than the heat and humidity, all was perfect.

Oh, and I also did a lot of postcard-mailing. For those of you that asked for one, I would imagine they should be arriving any day!

As I'm likely several hundreds of pages behind, can someone pm me (or point me towards a catch-up post) of things I need to know? Denise had shared with me the news of June and Caroline, but would also like to know the latest on them (and others). I have been thinking of all of you, and miss hearing about your lives!
Hi Lindsay Olivia got her post card on friday.
