I, like most of you, am very emotional right now. Having just met June last month in DC puts her so close to all of us, doesn't it? We know a little about what a strong woman she is because of the life she has led for herself. I know she won't quit fighting so we will all plan to be in WDW with her in the very near future to celebrate her wonderful life.
:thumbsup2 What a site that will be all of us at the Goofy statue. Sending more :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: June just keep fighting, we'll supply the prayers.

I am headed to bed. It has been a long day and I am looking forward to not having to go into work at all for the next 4 days. I have lesson plans to do and paperwork to get together, but I don't have to go into the school. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Night, DDA!
Have a good long weekend. :cloud9:

I know Dawn had hoped to give you an update herself today, but it's getting late, so I thought I'd update you with what she wrote to me earlier.

The head Neonatologist came in early this afternoon and said from what they've told him about the spitting up and from what the nurses observed first hand, he's going to thicken Caroline's formula more and they'll have to adjust the Reglan more. He said it would probably take a few days so Dawn doesn't anticipate that they'll go home today or tomorrow.

The good news is Caroline is having wet/dirty diapers again and she's gained three ounces. She's up to 6 lbs 7 ounces now. They were still waiting for some 48 hour lab tests to come back, but the nurse told them at 36 hours they were negative and they rarely come back positive after that.

Amy :)
I am glad that the tests are coming back neg. and she's gaining weight. I hope and pray things continue to improve. :wizard: Is Dawn taking care of herself and how is her BP looking?

Tomorrow night is the home opener for LHS...I think Abi and I are going to miss it. Abi is feeling a bit resentful of sister (and the time we've invested) so I am going to have some extra just mommmy and me time with her tomorrow.
Enjoy your mommy and me time. :goodvibes

Amy,

Hard to say what to do with the thumb sucking. Our youngest son did it until he was about 7 and then the orthodontist put in a tongue guard and that stopped it right away, otherwise the front teeth would have been sticking almost straight out. I tried everything, the stuff you put on the thumb, bribing him, but it sure didn't help when some people would ask him what flavor it was and he thinking it was funny would keep it up. If she has a chance to be around other little ones her age who are starting the potty training then she may want to imitate. That happened with my oldest son.
Just take it a day at a time.
What is a tongue guard? :confused3 Zachary sucks his middle 2 fingers and I have tried everything and can't get him to stop. I'm afraid his teeth are gonna be wrecked.

Good evening all! Anyone have plans for the weekend?

I talked to my Aunt today & my cousin is getting out of the hospital tomorrow. She can walk, but her left arm is still paralizied. Hopefully with time she will get feeling back in her arm as well. I was happy to hear she is doing better. I am looking forward to being with them all this weekend.

Riley is doing well at the new school & is very happy now about going. One thing I have noticed is he is studying & doing homework on his own. I have not had to keep on him to get it done like previous years. I hope to take this as a good sign. Riley also will be playing fall ball(baseball) & their 1st game is next Sat.

Garrett already has a science project, collecting & identifing insects  I'm not to thrilled about this project, I just don't care for bugs lol I have been collecting some for him, but I told him I will not help pin them to the board :crazy2: Garrett is playing volleyball again this year & is learning to play the clarinet in band.

Denise I am happy to hear you had a good day at school, look forward to seeing your classroom pictures.

Amy thank you for the update on Caroline

Elin enjoy your time off this weekend, hopefully you will get some "me" time.

Tammi I am glad Nicholas enjoyed his 1st day at school. I am sure you have said, but what grade is he in?

Karen :grouphug: for your grandmother.

Does anyone know when Lindsey returns?
:thumbsup2 You are one great mom. I soo wouldn't have anything to do with a bug project.
I hope Riley continues to do well in school. :cool1:

I get the same feeling when you say you have to get lunch for the kids. I'm usually just finishing up the breakfast dishes!

Is this about time I'm eating my dinner? :teeth:

Wow I miss a day and have like 50 pages to catch up on! This could keep me busy this evening :goodvibes

You mean you simply thought I just meant "I have more important things to buy than a TV show on DVD"? Apparently you and I communicate very differently than these other crazy ladies! ;)

I didn't mean for it to invoke such a reaction! :rotfl:
Exactly! That's what I thought you meant.

This lot are just baby crazed :teeth:

Oh and Chanon - this song was playing in my car on the way home yesterday and I thought of you :)

That was the original plan, but instead he hasn't left yet. In trying to find a home for the cat and deal with getting rid of some things, he fell behind. He should be here by Sunday morning if things go as hoped from here on out. He has called me at least 6 times since 5:00 tonight so I know that he is getting anxious to be here and we are too!
:wizard: Prayers for a safe drive for Phil so he can get there soon. :goodvibes

Thanks for asking Clare, Ernesto headed up Florida but lost most of his steam and is a weak Tropical Storm, Oh The Magic Of Pixie Dust! Wish we would have had some last year.
Glad to hear you got through it unscathed.

Now is it heading towards any other DDAers?

I danced with a phone because I'm sexy and I do what I want.
OK that just sounds wrong. :teeth:

I am caught up, but having a hard time focusing on anything. In fact I have felt out of sorts all day and with the news of June, I'm just useless. I had so much to post today, but in the realm of all that is going on it is really all trivial.

The boys started school today and all seems well. I will post pictures of Nicky at school when I get a chance.

We will be camping this weekend so I'll probably stop by tomorrow AM then won't be back until Monday PM. Have a great weekend. You all are in my thoughts.

Deb
Have a fun weekend camping. :sunny:

I said hello on a separate thread but was encouraged to come by here and introduce myself as well. I have been lurking here for a month or two :rolleyes1 so it is well past time.

My name is Suzanne and I have two beautiful kids. Michelle, 6, is the reason we are going to WDW in October. She was diagnosed June 1, 2005 with Aplastic Anemia, her body wasn't making blood cells. After trying some drugs which didn't work, she had to have a bone marrow transplant, November 11, 2005. We live in California but decided to have the transplant in Wisconsin. Michelle had some complications that kept us there longer than we hoped. We ended up staying there for 9 months. DH was there off and on and my mom brought DS out. My son Ian, (will be 4 Sep 11) had a hard time this past year with mommy and sister being gone so much. He came to visit but it wasn't the same as having us home.

Make A Wish granted Michelle's wish to go to Walt Disney World! We will be there October 7-15 and are staying at the Poly! The kids are thrilled and can't wait to go down the volcano slide. I have some special events planned for them, tea with Sleeping Beauty for Michelle and I and a pirate cruise for Ian. We are looking forward to spending some quality time together as a family.

Anyways, I came here to get some cool creative ideas. The trip is getting close enough I need to start working on things before time gets away from me. I am looking forward to meeting some new friends and getting some new ideas.

Suzanne
Welcome. I hope your family has a magical trip. Hopefully one of the designers can help you.

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile

They said had run the light

That caused the six-car pileup

On 109 that night.

When broken bodies lay about

"And blood was everywhere,"

"The sirens screamed out eulogies,"

For death was in the air.

"A mother, trapped inside her car,"

Was heard above the noise;

Her plaintive plea near split the air:

"Oh, God, please spare my boys!"

She fought to loose her pinned hands;

"She struggled to get free,"

But mangled metal held her fast

In grim captivity.

Her frightened eyes then focused

"On where the back seat once had been,"

But all she saw was broken glass and

Two children's seats crushed in.

Her twins were nowhere to be seen;

"She did not hear them cry, "

"And then she prayed they'd been thrown free, "

"Oh, God, don't let them die! "

Then firemen came and cut her loose, "

"But when they searched the back, "

"They found therein no little boys, "

But the seat belts were intact.

They thought the woman had gone mad

"And was traveling alone, "

"But when they turned to question her, "

They discovered she was gone.

Policemen saw her running wild

And screaming above the noise

"In beseeching supplication, "

Please help me find my boys!

They're four years old and wear blue shirts;

"Their jeans are blue to match.""

"One cop spoke up, ""They're in my car, "

And they don't have a scratch.

They said their daddy put them there

"And gave them each a cone, "

Then told them both to wait for Mom

To come and take them home.

"I've searched the area high and low, "

But I can't find their dad.

"He must have fled the scene, "

"I guess, and that is very bad."

"The mother hugged the twins and said, "

"While wiping at a tear, "

"He could not flee the scene, you see, "

"For he's been dead a year."

"The cop just looked confused and asked, "

"Now, how can that be true? "

"The boys said, ""Mommy, Daddy came "

"And left a kiss for you."" "

He told us not to worry

"And that you would be all right, "

And then he put us in this car with

"The pretty, flashing light. "

"We wanted him to stay with us, "

"Because we miss him so, "

"But Mommy, he just hugged us tight "

And said he had to go.

He said someday we'd understand

"And told us not to fuss, "

"And he said to tell you, Mommy, "

"He's watching over us."

The mother knew without a doubt

"That what they spoke was true, "

"For she recalled their dad's last words, "

" I will watch over you."

The firemen's notes could not explain

"The twisted, mangled car, "

And how the three of them escaped

Without a single scar.

"But on the cop's report was scribed, "

"In print so very fine, "

An angel walked the beat tonight on Highway 109.

I am feeling emotional right now. This has me  A very sweet story.

Yea! Severe reflux is so hard to deal with. Ask Dawn to see if Caroline needs to come home with supplemental oxygen (just in case she spits up and her airway is blocked again) and an apnea monitor (the babies wear it and it shows if they quit breathing and has a LOUD alarm). It gave me piece of mind at night. Otherwise, I would have sat with them 24/7 to make sure they were ok. Give her my love too please!

Hi Suzanne & welcome!
