We had a little what we call "weather" today.... :umbrella: :umbrella:

I left work late and as I pulled the handle to get into my car, the sky opened up. :umbrella: :umbrella: I left my mirror tucked in. I had opened the window last time to flip it and gotten soaked. Lesson learned. I just used my rear view. There weren't many cars on the road. I turned the corner and heard this crack!!! and part of a tree fell right on top of my car. :earseek:

I love Miss Blueberry.   She saved my life again. The limb just bounced off the top and onto the road and I rolled right over it. It happened so quick I didn't have time to react at all, didn't have a heart attack or p@@p my pants. Nothing. I just pulled over and couldn't believe I was alive....

One of my staff's daughter led the news tonight. A tree fell on her house. She had just walked in when BOOM. It is resting on her roof. Sheared off her shutters and the framing over her door. Didn't penetrate her roof though. We are both blessed.

I'm calling it a night.... :goodvibes

Steffy - I'm so glad that you are ok! That could have been just horrible! I'm literally shaking for you!

Stay safe, ok?

With that, I'm off to read for a while, and then to bed!

I'll be calling for ADR's tomorrow. Thanks for all your help. By the way, what time would be best for a breakfast ADR? Our flight is late afternoon so, we've got time to avoid crowds. Suggestions for Kona?

Denise, Jennifer or anyone else with experience - How do I make sure I'm aiming the Advair inhaler correctly? I took it for the first time this morning and tonight. This morning it seemed that everything hit the back of my throat and top/back of my mouth. Tonight seemed better, but it still seems like I missed the full dose. Any advice? Is it just a learning curve to get used to it?

Make sure to hold the purple disk completely level (and always store it that way too). It does hit my mouth/throat sometimes, but if I really hold it steady and level it does better. Make sure to rinse your mouth with water afterwards to avoid thrush.

They had to do it the old fashioned way. He has mesh in his stomach from 2 hernia operations so that prevented them from doing it laparoscopic. He's in a lot of pain, but his gallbladder was inflamed and blocked so the surgery had to be done. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. He should be able to go home on Friday.

Glad he did ok, but he is going to hurt and feel crappy for a while. Since it was blocked and inflamed, his body will have to recover from not only that but the surgery too. Tell him to get well soon!

Thanks.

Steffy, so glad you're OK

Tia, that's great news about your job

I have had a long and slightly traumatic day but I'll spare y'all the details. I'm going to bed so this day will end! I'll be computerless tomorrow so I'll miss chatting with y'all.

I had mine taken out the old fashioned way too. It hurt to move, cough, do anything! My Dr. told me alot of the pain was from having to move(I might not be saying this right)the ribcage. I was in the hospital for 5 days & off work for 6 weeks. It was so worth it though, the pain I went through before the surgery was torture. :wizard: that your brother recovers quickly!

That would be wonderful Jo! If you cannot get ressies for 6pm, I can probably add 2 to mine. My boys would love to meet Ramiro. We're not doing the cruise, so hopefully we can meet here & after dinner show you around the lodge :goodvibes

hey Clare

you have hope - there is a duck tour in London - we might have to have a DDA meet there!!!

Is there really? Wow - I didn't know that! Might have to check that out one day... although I don't want to go to London for a very long time...

yesterday was so hot it was just yucky, they kept cancelling the trains so I was nearly stranded! Then the one I did catch crawled all the way as the tracks were too hot!

Apparently it's going to get so hot today it could break records for the hottest day in english history... I'm sitting out in my back garden in a bikini... it's 11am and already getting toasty, when the sun comes over in about an hour I may have to go hide in the house next to the fan... that's the problem when it gets hot, we don't have a/c so we just melt :rotfl:

Now she's probably going to ask you for the translation of being "hammered."

extremely - can't quite stand up anymore - drunk ;)

I hadn't heard juiced. What about sloshed? And then there's one with an obscene word for the first half of it....

I actually know an English (as in England English :) ) slang word for it, which strikes ME as odd because it means something entirely different in American English slang. Any Bridget Jones readers know the reference I'm making?

I know I know!

"pissed" in english slang means very drunk
"pissed off" in english slang means mad/upset
but
"pissed" in american slang means mad/upset

Is that right?

Also over here pissed is blocked by profanity checkers as it is a mild swear word... let's see if it gets blocked on this american forum...
