Just caught up - decided not to reply to individual posts as there were far too many!

Glad you all had a good time in DC- the pictures look great... I got a kick out of recognising some of you and guessing who the other ones were :)

A little jealous that so many of you have met in real life! :rotfl:

I notice that we're on for another milestone tonight - only about 80 or so posts to go (maybe I should have had a p3 after all!) Unfotunately I'm going to miss out again as I'm headed for another early night... have to get up at 5am again for another day trip to London

Might not be around tomorrow night as by the time I get home I'll be knackered... so I'll catch y'all on Wednesday.

BTW - It's been flippin hot here today too! Just over 30 degrees Centigrade - no idea what that is in your money

:wave2:
So does that mean tired or hammered :teeth:

Yep! The vehicles are WWII amphibious assault "trucks" and after the land portion of the tour they drive right into the water!
Someone was paying attention to Kent!

But of course you did hear it twice. ;)

It sound so much cooler when you describe it like that! Is there anyway to find out which cities have these tours?

Mrs. Tia,

I was so happy when my mom told me I had mail.

When I opened the box it was a purple Ramone!

I got up and did a little dance but my mom didn't have the camera on

I'm so happy to have all 3 colors now!

Thank you! :bounce:
Love,
Christopher

ETA: I don't know why all of the pics turned out different sizes :confused3
He's so cute, Dawn. :goodvibes

Now she's probably going to ask you for the translation of being "hammered."

Denise and Lynn,

Here is my LSU purse:

A little farther out with the tiger stripes showing:

This is the back of the purse. There are pockets where you see the tiger stripes in the middle. Most of her purses have something on the back like LSU, but I liked the plain look:

I had to wash it since someone spilled their nachos on it, so it's a little wrinkled and out of shape. I just need to iron it. She also made pockets for the inside that come out. It's like an organizer.

You don't want to get rid of the dirty one, do you? I didn't know there was one until it was too late and Christopher asked if there was a Lightening McQueen that was dirty. He loves that part of the movie.

There are some of both on Ebay. I may have to bid on one and help Santa out!

Moms of Kindergarten kids and up! Question about bookbags and lunch box.

  • We got the kids solid color back packs as I heard that kids can get made fun of for character back packs.
  • What about lunch boxes? Can they have characters on the lunch box?
  • Rees wants a jet lunch box and I found a good place to have one embroidered for him. Should I get his name or just the airplane? I'm thinking just the jet?

Miles has had a Buzz Lightyear lunch box for a couple of years (K-1), and he hasn't had any problems yet. I think it all depends on the school and the kids. He did have a Tigger fleece that MIL sewed for him that he wouldn't wear to school, because he was teased (in K). He also had a Buzz Lightyear backpack (leftover from preschool). When that broke, he chose a Scooby Doo backpack. The zipper broke on that at the end of the year. I think I'm also headed for a solid color backpack (of better quality). That will definitely see him through a couple of years.

I'm undecided about the name embroidery. I was always writing my kids names on the outside of theirs in permanent marker, because the school wanted their names to be seen easily for lost/found. If you don't need to do that, though, I would lean toward not having the name embroidered on.

Channon,

Olivia loved her picture with pooh, tigger and eeyore on it and the mickey confetti. It arrived sat. just as we were heading to my moms for her party. I waited to open it with all her presents. :teeth:

I didn't know that. We love Austin! Brian lived there for 4 years when they still had the Air Force base. We visited friends there about 10 years ago and haven't been back since. It's absolutely beautiful! If I would agree to move there Brian would have the for sale sign up in our yard tomorrow!!

Sipping drinks at the Oasis :cloud9: Pure heaven!

I hadn't heard juiced. What about sloshed? And then there's one with an obscene word for the first half of it....

I actually know an English (as in England English :) ) slang word for it, which strikes ME as odd because it means something entirely different in American English slang. Any Bridget Jones readers know the reference I'm making?

So she would not know the difference.

I highly recommend the Land's End backpacks. They make one for smaller kids and it's very durable and had padding in all of the right places. There are lots of kids that have their name monogrammed on it, but we chose to just do his initials. I didn't feel comfortable with his whole name on it. As a matter of fact, I don't think Land's End will monogram the whole name on it.

Good afternoon all!

Love all the pictures of the DC meet. Looks like you had a great time!

Lindsey I did not know you were a rock star :teeth:

Tia Sorry to hear about the fall trip, I was looking forward to meeting you. I hope you can stay cool in this heat, be careful.

Beth congratulations to you dd!

Lynn congratulations to Alex!

Denise boths my boys had character lunchboxes & backpacks when they were younger. They were never made fun of.

Have a great day all & stay cool!
