I don't know much about lunchboxes, as my kids buy school lunch. We priced it out and for our area, it cost a lot more to make a lunch than to buy them from the school.

Can you tell I'm stressing a little over my "babies" starting Kindergarten? I can't believe 3 weeks from today they'll be at school...

We got all their school supplies this weekend. I'm seriously going to have a coronary when they get on that bus. Ok, I'm crying now just thinking about it. John is taking the whole day off to stay home with me that day, thank goodness!

Thanks. We got them an orange, blue, and pink backpack from Lands End. But BK wants a Barbie lunchbox, Davis wants Scooby Doo, and Rees wants a jet. I found a place that can embroider the jet that looks like his shirt Paula made. He'll love it.

One more question. What characters are considered baby now and should be avoided? I presume Bob the Builder, but what about Thomas the Tank Engine?

I also sent these questions out to my triplet club.

We are also buying lunch so no personal experience, but I think they'll be fine with the characters and jet. Those things are pretty popular for their age group, and I think Rees will be extra cool with his custom lunchbox.

Thomas is kinda on the verge of being too young around here. I don't see much of him on kids older than preschool, but I'm sure older kids still enjoy him. I'd also rule out Dora and anything on the preschool channels. Christopher and his friends still watch but they're just not very vocal about it.

Christopher is into Scooby Doo and Teen Titans, and that's what most of his friends admit to watching too.

We have a plain blue backpack from Land's End with his initials on it. He had to have that for preschool last year.

I am the same way now. I got so used to ignoring the notifications from the ones I subscribed to since most of the time they weren't an installment, that I would end up not even finishing the ones I was really enjoying!

I'm actually feeling a little excited for Christopher to start school. I guess because he can't wait to start and because I know I'll have a lot going on those first few months. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably cry like a baby that first day, but I'm still excited for him.

We paid the school to furnish the supplies so I don't have to do that. I'm kinda bummed because I always liked shopping for school supplies, but it was so much easier for him to have exactly what they wanted.

We have his uniforms and they look so cute on him! We just need new tennis shoes and we're all set!

Moms of Kindergarten kids and up! Question about bookbags and lunch box.

• We got the kids solid color back packs as I heard that kids can get made fun of for character back packs.
• What about lunch boxes? Can they have characters on the lunch box?
• Rees wants a jet lunch box and I found a good place to have one embroidered for him. Should I get his name or just the airplane? I'm thinking just the jet?

Denise -- I've always bought the Lands End backpacks/lunch boxes for the kids because they are so sturdy. We do get a baseball, soccer ball or something on them with the kids initials. (They don't want their whole name on it, but that might just be a Dallas thing....)

Edited/Added -- I Just read further and saw you did the Lands End too. I think you can get things put on them and no one will care. I also think any kind of lunch box would work. I see a lot of Barbie and Power Rangers with the little kids at our school, and they aren't made fun of.

I start on Sept 7, but I have a few teacher meetings and have to set up my room during August. So I actually will have almost a month to myself. It's going to be lonely.

I bet John will want ODTT too, but he's promised to take me to lunch that day. He wants to be home to get the kids off the bus in the afternoon to hear all about their first day.
