I just got an email from Lynn. She said she really needs prayers for her family. She did not give me any specifics, but did say there was MAJOR turmoil in her immediate family and that's why she hasn't posted lately.

She also wanted me to pass on congrats to Amy and Kevin.

Oh no! Prayers and PD for Lynn and her family! :wizard: :wizard:

My dad was a practical joker. After he died, we started having lightbulbs burn out all over the house. It seemed to be at times when I was missing him the most. Now, mind you, it was lots of them!!! Sometimes 2 or 3 in the same day. I think it was Chuck that it was dad trying to get our attention. I talked to my sister and mom about it after a month or so and they had also had an extra ordinary amount of light bulbs burning out. So now everyone time a light bulb burns out in our house, we say "Hi Dad, Miss you!".

Since then I've watched a show on TV about ghosts. It said that electricity is the strongest way for them to get our attention. It comforts me to think that it is my dad. Hope that the doorbell ringing did the same for you.

When my twins were about 2 months old I was alone with them in the house. Alan had taken the other 2 kids for some Daddy time. I was nursing Mary on the couch when Leslie started to cry. Then she began to scream. She wanted attention in a bad way! I was at my wit's end, because every time I tried to put Mary down, she would cry, too. So, I just said out loud, "I need some help!" After about a minute, Leslie stopped crying and started giggling. I looked over at her, and she was looking straight ahead of her with a huge smile on her face, just giggling to beat the band. At that instant I KNEW my FIL who had died 2 years earlier, was taking care of her for me. I got tears in my eyes as I said, "Thanks, Dad. I really needed help." Then I felt a warmth run through me, like someone had just given me a hug.

I totally believe that he has been around to help me out when I needed it the most. He was the best FIL and grandpa ever! I just can't imagine that stopping just because he died!

Well, I'm out of here. It is a 5 hour drive to Gaylord. The party should be fun and I'm looking forward to spending time with Lisa & Kris. We worked very closely together for 6 years and then there was a reorg and we haven't all been together since which is 3 years now. Woohoo!!!! Party tonight!!!! See you tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Ummmmm. NO!!!!!

Hi Gang.

I found a computer terminal in the waiting room here in the mommy-baby unit. Haven't had a chance to really read everything but this one kind of stood out. The Doctor kept making references to the next one last night as well. Not going to happen.

Anyway, everybody is doing great. It looks like we will all be leaving the hospital by midnight tonight. Amy, Alyssa, Matthew and I thank you for all the good wishes.

I'm sure Amy will update later. And of course there are lots of pictures we will send along. Talk again soon.

--Kevin

Kevin! Congratulations, proud poppa! We are all so thrilled for you!!!! Take care of Amy and the 2 little ones. It's a whole new world, now, with 2 babies!

We are so happy for you all! Please give Amy our love!

Hey Becky -

I am 33 - have two kids and I STILL don't know what I want to be when I grow up!!!!!!!

I know what I want to do. It is getting the grants and financials together in order to do my dream that is the problem. I want to run a year long camp probably in Florida or somewhere where it is warm year round for all kids and maybe even there families.

There are camps out there for kids with diabetes, asthma, diabetes, foster, regular kids, etc. But none that allow all of them to go to camp together. I want it to be handicapped accessible, have a great medical facility, etc. So that the kids can have their issues taken care of. I want it to be free or low cost.

I know, I don't set lofty goals for myself. :teeth: I know I can do it, it will just take years until it will be a reality. I have to start small with just running a one day, day or weekend camp seesion and slowly work my way up to what I want.

For now I just want to work for a nonprofit organization doing event planning, fundraising, volunteer coordinator or something along those lines. I would love to work for Disney doing planning events or something for there VoluntEARS. Than I would have the best of two worlds.

Flat out I want to help others and make the world a better place for all. :) How I exactly up on doing this I am not sure yet.

I let Christopher watch it last week. He really only cared about the skeleton pirates (the scariest part, IMO) and didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the rest of it. Honestly, while it was going on I asked myself what I was doing letting him watch it, but there isn't any graphic violence that I can remember. I thought we might have some bad dreams, but he was fine. I've heard this one is much scarier and I probably won't let him see it. I'll have a better idea tomorrow.

I let Miles (7) watch it with us the other day (over protests from the others that they weren't allowed to watch PG-13 movies at that age). I checked it out first, and he really does have a firm grasp on reality vs. fantasy.

Yea - I decided to do some designing tonight to keep my mind off it

It is hard to look at him and think anything might be wrong - which is good - but the mom in me just can't let it go - I am getting more worried as we get closer - just becoming so real now!!

DH asked me a question that maybe some of you might know the answer to -

if it is something serious - will our doctor tell us over the phone or will they ask us to come in - although one time I had a test done and the tech told me if it is serious - they would not let me leave the hospital - do you think this will be the case - maybe Jennifer would have answers on Children's protocol!!

I just wanted to let you know that Nick (and you) are still in my prayers. I hope that the tests on Monday put an end to all the worrying and fears. :grouphug:

Happy Saturday, everyone! We are off to a really late start today! We decided last night to take our kids to see Cars. We debated about it, because it's so costly to take our family of 6 to a movie, but we really didn't want to stay home, and that was the one thing we all agreed would be fun to do.

So, DH is looking up movie theaters, when lo and behold, we noticed it was playing at the drive in theater. I immediately told the kids to go get their jammies on and grab their blankets. DH packed the camp chairs in the van and we were off. We stopped at a store to grab some popcorn and soda, then to a Chinese place for some take out for dinner.

We got to the drive in about 8:30, set up blankets and camp chairs, got everyone situated and had dinner. The movie started about 9:30 and we had a blast. The best part? It only cost us 12 dollars for the tickets. Kids 9 and under are free!!! Adults only 6 dollars. Pretty cool. The chinese food was only 5 dollars, as well, so it ended up being a pretty cheap family night out!

The kids loved the movie (who am I kidding? Alan and I did, too!), and we all decided it's one we will be buying on DVD when it comes out. I'm hoping it comes out before Christmas so Santa can put it in Jacob's stocking. He loved Mater and Lightning.

It was a reallly fun evening! However, we're all dragging today. I'm thinking naps will be in order for us all!

:rotfl: Number 4 was a c section for me...I was out of my mind having to stay longer!!!! But, I will agree it was nice to put the baby in the nursery...I wonder if I push a button now, if someone would come and take Bill for a few hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

So FUNNY -

I LOVED the time in the hospital and never worried about the germs

of course - I had a c-section and spent 4 days - I loved the good drugs you get at the hospital AND that all I had to do was ring the magic button and someone would come take my baby so I could sleep!!

I wish I still had the magic button!!! :teeth:

BTW, anyone else's *************** ticker not working? My doesn't change days...It should read 1 month 15 days....I think I am going to change it back to my old ticker.

I removed mine a few days ago, because it was very inaccurate. Mine said less than 30 days to go.

:wave2: Glynis! Our drive in is just $12 a car! When I was in college, we used to borrow my mom's van, take out all the seats except the front two and LOAD the van! Cooler's were the "seats" and everyone brought a camping chair for when we got the the drive in (vans/trucks parked in the back). We'd open sliders, crank up the radio and have a blast! All we were missing was a bonfire! :rotfl: I think we had 17 people in that thing once...
Glad to hear that everyone loved Cars! I can't wait to go see it again because I know I missed TONS of jokes! A nap sounds like a good idea, but POTC starts in an hour! Gotta get ready for that!

It's a nice way to watch a movie! The kids think it is so fun! There were people there with small bbq's making hot dogs, etc., and some even got up a game of football. Everyone was so friendly, too, that it was very pleasant.
