When Julia was 2 days old - I already knew she was pretty good natured - I put her in the nursery and asked the nurse to bring her to me in about 3.5-4 hours - Yes she was on a feeding schedule that quickly - I was SO blessed with how easy my babies were

the nurse was very irritated that I was putting her in the nursery but I had a c-section and the nurse the night before had convinced me I should put Julia in the nursery at night so I could recover and get a good night's sleep

anyway - 4 1/2 hours later the nurse brought me Julia and said - "she must be hungry b/c she was pitching a fit"

PITCHING A FIT?!?!?!!?!?

first - I had already told her that she should bring her to me 1/2 hour earlier - and second how does a baby pitch a fit at 2 days old - and since Julia did not pitch a fit until she was well into her terrible two's - I was and still am that the nurse would say something so absurd to me!!!!!

Oooooo, that sounds so familiar. I had decided to leave Katie in the nursery after she was born, so that I could get some rest, and the nurses all looked at me like I was some kind of unfit mother. They were really pushing me to "room in", but Alan told them in no uncertain terms that what I wanted was their business to make sure I got.

That first night, I woke up a couple of times expecting the nurses to bring Katie in to me, but she never came. Finally, I sent Alan (who was sleeping in an arm chair in the room) to find out why. Well, Katie was sleeping through the night, and the nurses decided it was silly to wake her up to feed when it was obvious she didn't want to. The head nurse actually told Alan that she thought it was a good idea for babies to be in the nursery rather than in the room with the mom. Mom's need their sleep.

I was lucky in that Katie slept through the night from Day One! The others? Not so much!

Whew--I am ALL caught up--you guys were chatty today!!!

It is closer to the weekend and i cant wait!! I did go to the hospital today on my break to visit Alex, but wasnt able to see him- Hes been getting alot of visitors (those darn firemen!) so since he was sleeping, they decided to cut off the visiting. Hopefully i will be able to get in and see him Saturday-But everyone has said that he is doing so great!! He has been writing notes to people. He told my dad that he knows what happened--he didnt know about the accident and his best friend told him what happened. Everyone is so impressed with the progress that he is making! Its amazing, i cant wait to see him...The story was printed in the paper a few times and the donatinos are still coming in! people are giving blood in Alex's name and weve gotten so many calls as to where they can send money for the family--Things are looking up! thank you al lfor being there for me--i will try to post an update when i get home from the hospital and see him!

Collage question--are we supposed to send a pic of just us with any character? and who do i send it to?

Kate wanted us each with a Disney character. Clare suggested it be our favorite character. Does that sound good to everyone? And you would send it to Kate because she is the one that was interested in putting together a DDA collage.

We also wanted a picture of everyone that goes to WDW with the Goofy statue (like in June's siggie) inside the Magic Kingdom entrance to the right. I will use it in my DDA scrapbook. I don't know how others will use it. Plus, when I get my picture there in December, I'll know that even if I can't meet my DDA friends in person, they were in exactly the same spot during their trip.

We then needed to pick a spot for the DL visitors. It has been decided that the picture should be at the Grotto. Christi will be getting hers there this coming week so we'll have a sample of that.

So everyone needs two pictures when they visit either DL or WDW. One with a character and one in the set spot for that park.

SOrry the school year gets wild and crazy, but just think of all the great things your kids are doing, even if it's not together.

Yes! I want it to take FOREVER for my trip to come, too. The thought of my kids going back to school makes me sad already. I feel like the summer is going to fly by so fast. I'm not ready for another school year to start, for my dd to be overwhelmed with homework, etc, for my "baby" to be in second grade, for my oldest to be heading for the half-way point of high school.

The anticipation of the trip is great, so if the summer could SLOW way down, I'd be very happy.

Best of luck to you, too, Anne Marie! We can cry together on the Wednesday after Labor Day...

Well, I have one more week until my baby is 18 years old. It just doesn't seem possible. She has grown up so much in the last year. I also want the summer to go slow because next summer she will have to get a job and she'll be working as much as she can to make spending money since she'll be off to school in the fall. We are so busy in the summers that my girls never really had time for summer jobs. Katrina didn't get her first job until she was a senior in high school too.

However, I don't think my summer will go slow. Next week is her birthday celebrations. She is having her friends over on the 11th since her best friend leaves for church camp on her birthday. We'll then have a family celebration on the 13th. Then we leave for Girl Scout camp on the 15th. We'll be there until the 30th. The first week-end of August is my team (my staff & I & our families) camping week-end. We will have the rest of the month of August but that will be filled up with senior pictures and hopefully a trip to West Branch to see my aunt & cousins and Cleveland area to see my sister and her kids. If Chuck is well enough, I know he'd like to camp a couple more times since he hasn't been able to this summer yet.

My oldest will be in 5th grade, middle in 2nd, & my baby in Kindergarten. They will all be in the same school for the first time. Beth, I am not ready either!

By the way, where do you all get your tee shirts for designing? Last October I got the 50/50 blend from AC moore. The designs came out great but the neck bothered me. I was hoping to find some V necks..anyone get them for making shirts & where? Thanks!

p.s. I did find Hanes perfect tee with a V neck but they are $7 each & I need like 8 for me...
