make a chain to take apart for each day you have left. it could help the kids a bit. Then again it could make the time take longer.
It will come soon!!!

We were thinking about doing a chart or something like that to count down. Unfortunately though I feel like I am wishing the summer away. They go back to school right after we get back home. My kids can drive me nuts BUT I love them being home & playing with each other. My oldest gets such an attitude when she is in school..I know it has to be peer & school work pressure because as soon as school was over she went back to her usual sweet self. ..I love waking up late with them, watching them eat together (which they never do, not even dinner when school & after school activities are on), & just all that good stuff.

Got to make sure that new people that post don't get ignored. I don't want to be considered a bad clique! I realize that we are something of a clique but we welcome other people and are more than happy to explain about our jokes when people ask or people join and we realize they may not know what we are talking about. That is why I love this place! I always like seeing new people join and become part of the group! You all are so friendly to everyone!

that is correct!!!!

come on in!!!!

I would love to hug any new addict.

Any west coast addicts?

Any new addicts.

ok I enjoy all of you and your addictions!!!

We keep talking about moving back to the midwest as well. It is so hard to move and uproot with kids and yet there are so many pros. We would be near family, the cost of living is less, we would actually get 4 seasons again(I really miss the snow and the crisp fall instead of all the RAIN)and of course we would be closer to WDW. But, the boys like going to the beach, the waterfalls for hiking, and the mountains. And we are close to DL. It's so hard to decide. :confused3 DH wants us to make a decision by next year so I guess until than we'll be back and forth.

I don't want you to leave the west, but PD and mor PD for your decision.

I am sorry this was a more than less frquent thing. As far as the Sunday school teacher I think I would have had a talk with the director or pastor. I am not one to let someone tell me my kids are spoiled if they cry. I get a little like this ... pirate: :furious: and that is when they should do this....:duck: :scared: . I will be the first to say my child is acting out, but....... if they cry on and on, there must be something wrong.
No the Dr did not say to watch for the little things from now on, but I will and I thank you for letting me know.
Paula -
I know what you mean about getting mad about that!!

When Julia was 2 days old - I already knew she was pretty good natured - I put her in the nursery and asked the nurse to bring her to me in about 3.5-4 hours - Yes she was on a feeding schedule that quickly - I was SO blessed with how easy my babies were

the nurse was very irritated that I was putting her in the nursery but I had a c-section and the nurse the night before had convinced me I should put Julia in the nursery at night so I could recover and get a good night's sleep

anyway - 4 1/2 hours later the nurse brought me Julia and said - "she must be hungry b/c she was pitching a fit"

PITCHING A FIT?!?!?!!?!?

first - I had already told her that she should bring her to me 1/2 hour earlier - and second how does a baby pitch a fit at 2 days old - and since Julia did not pitch a fit until she was well into her terrible two's - I was and still am :furious: that the nurse would say something so absurd to me!!!!!

SOrry the school year gets wild and crazy, but just think of all the great things your kids are doing, even if it's not together.

Just got off the phone with my, all the doctors know is that it was a bacterial infection. The electrocardiogram and the blood work were clear. She had a cat scan earlier today, but they want to do another, the nurse told her probably because the first one was fuzzy.

So long as she doesn't run a fever anytime between now and tomorrow morning, she can go home tomorrow.
That's encouraging news!

My kids complain about my oldest Blake not having to have hand me down clothes. The way I have gotten around this is they all get a few new outfits a year, one in the fall, a new sweater and PJ's for christmas, a new outfit for Easter, and a new shirt for 4th of July. My mom will usually also buy them each a few new outfits throughout the year. I just remind them that if we had to buy all new clothes for all 4 we wouldn't be able to take vacations. :goodvibes

That's pretty much what we do, too. A new outfit for Christmas, one for Easter, I do T-shirts for the 4th of July, and they each get 2 pair of jeans for school and depending on the cost, 3 or 4 shirts. I love Walmart!

hey kate,
i was just wondering if you were able to get me grad ears when you went to wdw in may and how much do i owe you. thanks in advance.

There's a really cute thing on themouseforless.com. It's links for a paper chain that are decorated with Disney characters. I printed out 30 of them, and a month before our trip, the chain magically appeared. I told my kids that Tinkerbell had left it to make their wait more fun. Each night they got to take one down, and they loved to watch it get smaller and smaller.

Also on that site are journal pages for your kids to use and help them remember all they did at the World. I adapted them a bit for use at DL, but my kids loved them. I put them in small school folders, and then printed off a bunch of Disney coloring pages for the airplane ride down.

We also did a Disney movie countdown before our trip. We would watch a different Disney movie each night before we left. It got my kids in the mood, and when we got to DL, they knew most of the stories behind the rides. It helped the twins out a lot.
