Denise - The hard thing about a NYC hotel is finding a room that'll sleep 5. :teeth: I'll see if there's an Embassy Suites downtown anywhere. There's even hotels that won't hold more than three per room due to fire laws and how old some of the buildings are!

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll make it until after the 10th. My sister's official due date is the 7th. Odds are that the baby will come in last November, but I don't want to miss being there! I'm debating between the 10th-17th or the 13th-20th right now.
ill be there dec 17-24 :cool1: hoping to go to mvmcp on the 19

What's everyone's cell phone? I'm due for a free upgrade and just wanted to see if there are phones out there that you all really like or just outright hate. :teeth: Thanks!

Beth,

I know when I make a reply and then hit the back button twice, unless I remember to refresh the page, I'll miss posts of people who posted at the same time. If the server is busy, I'll go back and miss entire pages. That's why I love the quote feature. Because then I'll see a quote and say... hey.. I missed that!!!! :surfweb: :surfweb:

I think that is the same problem that I have. I also sometimes leave the reply window up for quite a while if I get to doing something else in the middle of a reply. Then I miss a bunch without realizing it. I have seen quotes and realized that I missed the original, too! I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Beth

We have Cingular, and like it. Right now there is no tower near by and we can still call out and receive calls.

We're wanting to go next Thanksgiving (2007) for a week and go to the Macy's Day Parade. I'm presuming that a hotel on the parade route would be the best (Times Square). We've never been, so this is completely new to us. Want a good hotel, info on how to view the parade, tours (NYC would be decorated for Christmas), etc. I'd appreciate any help you could give us.

It looks like you may have already booked this (from your ticker) but I can vouch for the Renaissance Times Square. The rooms are lovely, the location cannot be beat and the staff is outstanding. Foley's Fish House for meals is pricey but yummy and the view is to die for!

This is at breakfast from inside the restaurant looking out over Times Square:

I know there is a Doubletree Suites and a Residence Inn, both are on Times Square. The Residence Inn overlooks Bryant Park and the Doubletree is in the heart of Times Square.

This is great! She's gonna have a TON of hotels to check out before the night is over! :rotfl:

We go to NYC every year for a long weekend of theater-going, so our experience is pretty limited to the Times Square/Theater District areas. I have a friend who always stays at the Marriott Marquis and loves it. I have never stayed there but if I can think of any other hotels I will certainly let you all know.
