Hi all.... wont be able to read and chat much again today because my SIL A and I are contacting every media place we can for my SIL T so she can have temp custody of her DD for the last 60 days of her life.

I won't get to get back much so PD and Prayers for al who need it.

Oh the drama continues….

So a local paper is interested in SIL T story and calls lots of people (father of child, spoke with my MIL, send a photographer out to take pics of SIL T, and calls SIL T lawyer). SIL T lawyer calls SIL T and says that the case is still open, the media could be detrimental to the case and they were given an appeal court date of 30 Aug when the judge will be back from his vacation. (remember she was given 60 days aka 2 two months aka 1440 hours to live) 30 Aug is to late.

So now my MIL is a bit worried and asked us to hold off contacting other folks until she thinks about this more. IS SHE CRAZY???? Did SIL A and I miss something???? The judge said no to the first appeal, 30 Aug is past the 60-day mark, what do we have to loose?

Are SIL A and I on crack? We are so PO’d! What would you do?

I just talked to Amy! They're all doing well except for Kevin. He's a bit under the weather.

She said Alyssa adores Matthew and so far the transition has been smooth for her.

Her mom left yesterday and they had company for a while today. She hopes to check in soon, but is still not allowed to go to the basement much. She wishes she had a laptop.

Matthew peed on her while we were talking so she said she had to go wash the only pants that fit her right now .

Paula, I wish I had some good advice for you. It does seem like you have nothing to lose. What does SIL T want to do?

Yup, it's real now! Before I was always sure that there would be something come up that would make Alan say No! However, now that the marathon fees are paid, the flights paid for, and the place to stay worked out, I know that he will not back out! Get this, now he thinks we'll have time for Sea World, USF and the space stuff, too. How do I get this guy to think in reality!

How long you going for Glynis? You need at least two weeks to fit all of that stuff in and you run yourself ragged doing it! I tell you we did it all in the first two weeks of our wedding trip and then I hit a big wall! I was so exhausted we hardly did anything on our honeymoon week... hence the trip this year to make up for it! I'm hoping we can do a relaxing trip this year...

The news on Jessie is bittersweet. She seems to be stable and is sedated for pain. She only has one break, but it's in a very bad area so the word lame came up. At that point I think I panicked. They are letting her "chill", as they put it and rehydrating her, since she layed in the yard for a while before I heard her (and we had 105 heat index today). They are going to set it and splint it in the morning and see how she does. There isn't enough bone left by the break (part of it was shaved off) to pin it.


She will have to be an indoor cat for the next 6 - 8 weeks, if not for the rest of her life. I asked if she would ever be able to walk, and they said they hope she will. This is about to bring major changes to my family. I've never had an indoor cat, as I'm terribly allergic (and I think both boys are as well) and my DH and I both work full time out of the house, although I occasionally work from home. I guess I'm going to work from home for a few days, take my mom up on her offer to help, and possibly take Jessie to work with me.

Even though I know it was an accident, I'm having a hard time with it.

Cats are very resilliant you know - when I was younger my nan had a cat with three legs and it was the fastest cat I ever saw. It would sit at the end of the street and when you turned into the road in the car it would run back to the house and get there before you did!

Well I'm with you. If she truly only has two months or less to live, then August 30 is too late and what good is it to have the same judge hear it. Don't take this wrong but are you sure it is really two months? I think you've said things before about the MIL. Could she have exaggerated a little to the rest of the family to get your involvement? If not, then I don't understand why you would back off except to give the lawyer more money.

Good afternoon all! My internet has been out all day which also means no phone since we have VOIP. It has been soo quiet in my house! Thank you all for only about 8 pages to catch up on.

I feel so much better today, not near as exhausted as yesterday. Thankfully the girls and Ty were ok with hanging out and watching a few movies. Once Molly and Ty went down for naps Emma and I made some bracelets with a bead kit she had gotten for her birthday.

I wish I knew what to tell you. It does seem that there is nothing to lose, because doing it by the system is going to be too late. What reasons does the father give for not allowing this?

MIL thinks and hopes the SIL T will live longer than the time they last gave, as we all want her to live much longer. SO MIL thinks that if they have a chance in late Aug then hey it's a chance. She also is very afraid of laywers and will take what ever they say as the only thing that can be done. But It's not a chance because SIL T should have the time NOW in hope for a longer life. Not be so depressed from this that she gives up.
So I have continued to email and fax people because the letter is coming from SIL A and I not MIL or SIL T (the sick one).

I am going to take a break from all this and clean my house a little then go and read what I have missed on the thread.

Robyn - I hope you come up with something - and then spread the word!

Event planning is tough, and I can empathize with your cousin who travels all the time doing it. I do it for the law firm I work for (and also contract out some of our larger events), and I don't know how people can keep their wits and energy about them to do it full-time!

I've had people tell me I should be a wedding planner, or plan some of the outlandish bar mitzvahs that go on here! I'm sure a lot of $$ could be made, but I don't know if I could take the brides from heck, and those mommies!!!

I don't know how she does it either. She is never home and she wonders why she isn't married!! I can certainly understand how busy you are!!
