What does this beautiful (I say, because it's a balmy 49 degrees here today) Dec. 23rd have you doing? Last minute shopping? Wrapping? Baking? Cleaning? Had I realized how nice it was I would have taken the dogs for walks. :dog:

I finished wrapping late this morning, all except DD's stocking stuffers that I've decided not to wrap this year. I have started cooking/baking for tomorrow night when we'll be hosting my mom and her husband.
I've got the second 1/2 dozen mini pineapple upside-down cakes cooling, hard-boiled eggs waiting to be sliced and filled and cream cheese and butter softening for "onion butter". All the while, I have a chicken in the crockpot for tonight's dinner.

Then I'll need to nap because I'm due at TDS for a 9-midnight shift! :earseek: I still need to vacuum and clean the kitchen floor, but I'll either recruit DH and DD to help or save it for tomorrow....especially if TDS needs me for 7-11am shift (I have to call in to see if I'm needed) Christmas Eve.

Went to the grocery store early this morning to get all the items needed for Christmas dinner. Have just been sitting around the house relaxing and try to find some motivation.

the kids will decorate the sugar cookies today (baked them last nite), we'll make the smore cookies and possibly one other (we puruse the cookbook), and i'll make an easy dinner (italian sausage and spagetti). when dh gets home i'll camp out in the bedroom and FINISH my wrapping, then he will trade spaces and START his wrapping :rolleyes. i need to run to the store for the last few dinner items that need to be fresh, then the last minute picking up the house, pull out the holiday dishes...

I'm making Christmas cookies with the girls and then I need to make banana nut breads, applie pie, fudge, and grapenut pudding.

Everything is done and i'm without a car, kids are napping... so i'm sitting here playing pogo and on the dis boards. If I had a car, i'd SO be at the mall enjoying the hustle and bustle around me!

Working my last day of overtime!!! (We're understaffed and I've been working overtime for the past month--good for the pocketbook, bad for the sanity).

Then going on a date with my fiance. :cloud9:

Baked Ricotta cheese cookies and M&M cookies with my granddaughter.. Made fudge for my son-in-law..

And would you believe that while the M&M cookies were cooling on the rack, "Santa" snuck in and took a BIG bite out of one? My granddaughter is on the telephone with her best friend right now trying to figure out how he got in here without us seeing him................. ;)

We cleaned this morning. DD is out playing in what is left of our snow, it is in the 40's here, too. I am TRYING very hard to make the clock tick faster because I get to leave in 45 minutes to pick up our new PUPPY!!!

Make sure you give us an update before you go to bed tonight!!!

Whoo Hoo! At 1:12 today I FINALLY REALLY finished christmas shopping! Now mom is in the other room wrapping them. :cool1: It sure took us long enough. BTW, we are opening everything tomorrow and sleeping in on christmas.

There needs to be a 12 step program for people like me.

I am on a break from wrapping, having a glass of wine (a bit early) a little more then stressed out, have more shopping to do and get the crown roast picked up. I need to get the kids to put some clothes that are on the stairs away and I need to straighten up the house. Friends are supposed to be coming over to exchange gifts later. No matter how early I start to prepare for Christmas there is always stuff left to be done at the last minute.

Worked part of the day, then cleaned for a couple of hours, and now I'm headed off to the grocery store. I told the kids that if we can get the house reasonably clean today we can just do fun stuff tomorrow. We're in pretty good shape.

I'm done!!! The gifts are all wrapped, the food bought and ready to prepare on Christmas Day. No more SHOPPING!! Went to lunch with a good friend and enjoyed the afternoon.

The house is clean and now I can relax and play on the computer. :goodvibes
