:confused3 Not sure if this is the right place.... I know the parks are crowded during holidays. But what about the day after (Memorial Day 2007). We are thinking of starting our vacation May 29th. Missing Memorial Day. But maybe beating some of the summer crowd. Any input? :yay: :yay: Thanks!!

In the south, almost all schools are over and done with BEFORE Memorial Day, so our summer vacations have already started. Up north, most schools start later, like late August or September, and they go into June. So, I would think that early summer crowds could be moderate, but nothing like the big crowds you see mid-summer, Christmas, Easter, ect.....I think it will be fine, just be prepared with a plan, use FP, etc. I know very early summer (when many schools are not out yet) and very late summer (when many schools have already started up again) are both prime choices for folks who DON'T want their kids missing school....and YES there are still some of us out there! We homeschool now, but we still have activites to plan around and we don't like for our kids to miss them!

We have been to Walt Disney World eleven times in the last nine years. Seven of those times have been during the time you are talking about.

We have found that the last week of May through the first two weeks of June are pretty good times to visit. You miss Spring Break and you get in before the rush of Summer.

Gay Days are the first weekend in June and draw HUGE crowds! The Magic Kingdom is the first park they visit. I am unsure how they schedule their other days. We just make sure to avoid the Magic Kingdom so we don't get hit with thousands upon thousands of additional people.

Hope this helps, Lisa

This is listed on the disney website as one of the "Wonderful Weeks of Disney" which means lighter crowds and other benefits according to disney's website.

I have also been this week, and did not have much difficulty with crowds. It did seem hot but I think that it was because I was coming from cooler weather in Maryland so Florida seemed hotter.

We rented points at the BWV and the Holiday weekend was very busy around the Boardwalk and the resort. The pools were packed and you had to get a wristband and show it at the pool.:thumbsup2

After Monday things really calmed down around that area...The Boardwalk quieted down till the weekend and the pool was really nice and no more bracelets were needed.

We did AK on Memorial day and while it was busy we still managed to do everything we wanted with minimal waits using Fast Pass...It was just a bit hectic trying to get through all the people...

The other parks during the week were fine as long as you were there at Opening... The longest wait we had was Space Mountain and it was a little over 30 minutes. We had no problem watching the parades or the Fireworks and we got into Fantasmic about 45 min early..No problems.

The weather was warm and we only had a couple showers...Could have been a lot hotter...So we were happy!...It was very humid though. We took afternoon swim breaks.

We spent Friday at Epcot and it was wonderful! World Showcase never seemed crowded at all that day.
We rode Soarin twice...Use Fastpass! Love it!

I think it is a good week to go..Just plan to get up early and use Fast pass.

I could tell as we were checking out that things were only going to get busier as summer went on...

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for everyones input! We have always gone during the first weeks of June. I know it sounds funny - but the later in June you go - the hotter it gets. Trying to avoid the heat. We live in Oklahoma - We have enough here.... Don't need it on vacation.!! I really think we will try for the 29th. Thanks again. I love all you guys. It makes it so much easier to plan vacations with your help.:cool1: :cool1:
