2 years and 6 months until our return..... Yay! But Urgh......so long!

But I've missed these boards, and planning. And so much has changed since ou last trip in 2011 that I need plenty of time to prepare. :)

So glad to have a date to aim to. We can't wait to visit with our own Disney Princess and see a new side of WDW.

Plans at the moment are 10 nights AKL and 4 nights GF. If some sort of pixie dust magic occurs in my bank account then we might add in a 3 or 4 night cruise. :)

How nice to have something to aim for Torsie :goodvibes

My ticker was about 18.5 months when I first set it. Trick is not to look at it for a few weeks :lmao:. I can't believe I'll hopefully be booking accom in the next 6 weeks or so - subject to offers :hyper:.

Aibee is beautiful - will she be about 3 when you go then? A nice age for everything I think :lovestruc My DD1 first went to DLP at 3 and loved it - she could 'get' all the magic and just was in awe. My DD2 went from 6 months and to be fair, she was also about 2.5 years before she really got the 'magic' properly. It does depend on the child though and with the advent of things like Disney Junior, this is becoming younger and younger!

Good luck with the planning.

Welcome back Torsie :goodvibes I was thinking about a thread you started a few years ago, just the other day, and wondering when you'd be back! ("What are you excited about right now"? Remember it?)

How old will your little one be for her first trip?

I feel your pain. We've just booked to go back. Luckily, it's this September so just six months to wait! We weren't really planning it, just saw a price to good to turn down.

The countdown begins again.... Gotta love the excitement of that countdown!!

Thanks guys :)

Yes she'll be 3.5 when we go. In an ideal world we'd go next year but we're planning to buy a new house so sensible things have to take priority. But I think 3 will be a great age as everything should still be 'real' to he but hopefully she'll also be old enough to hopefully understand about waiting in line and things (am I being a bit naive?)

But don't you worry - she's Disney brainwashed already! We watch Disney music videos once or twice a day (normally when changing her as it keeps her still!) and Lion King and Frozen are her current favourites. So much so at Baby Cafe yesterday a little girl had a Frozen top on and she kept crawling over to her and touching Elsa! Haha. Hope by our trip maybe Elsa & Anna are included at some meals (Akershus I'm looking at you!)

Thanks guys :)

we are just waiting to move in to our new house so i can sort our budget out and work a date out been sensible is sooo boring :lmao::lmao: !!

would love to see frozen princessesprincess: my dd is totally in love with them

Any countdown is a good one.

Anna was 3yrs 10 months on our first onsite stay with dining plan - she had a fantastic trip. Loved the character meals and rides. Plus she let me dress her up in custom outfits and princess dresses.

We are having a year off due to moving house end last year. Sometimes life gets in the way of disney.

Thanks guys :)

Oh, I think that's an ideal age to go as I said earlier. Some of my best 'character' memories are from around this age up to about 5 years - then it starts to move more towards ride and BTM etc, although characters still featured, but it wasn't quite the same! :lmao:

I would expect no other on the brainwashing ;)!

Sounds like you've got your wish early with Anna & Elsa - they are moving to the MK and now their FP slots look like they are open - no more queuing for hours :cool1:. But then, to be fair, who knows what the 'next big thing' will be by then :rolleyes2

Hi Torsie, welcome back :)

When we went in 2012, our 'countdown' was almost 3 years. I booked our flydrive at the 600 day mark. It's good to know you are definitely going back and it's really magical with children.:)

Woop! I'm glad you've got something pencilled in Torsie!

My ticker was probably that long away when I first put it on, we're nearly approaching booking time now...eeek! I can't say it's gone quickly, but I've loved being back on the boards surfing about and seeing what's happening...sadly/happily, whichever way you want to look at it (as I'm also learning that they grow too quickly!), it'll be here before you know it! x

It's great to have a plan, isn't it. We will be returning in 2yrs and 6months too! :-) we're planning to get married there too. So excited, but there's sooo long to wait.

So excited for you!
We don't have a ticker now :-( no plan to go back until we have kids (DFis rule, not mine! Haha!) To be fair, like you, we're getting married next year, and we're looking to put down a deposit down on a house, so real life has to come before WDW... for now anyway! :)

I'll just have to live through you guys! Xx

Yay Torsie you're back! Since returning from our trip last year I had only looked on the boards very little as the Disney blues set in, but as our wedding trip is less than 2 years away now, I have started lurking again. Look forward to hearing more of your plans!

I know how u feel, we went last year also but it was our 4th time in a row and I haven,t been on the boards that much either since than because of the disney blues and I so want to go back again but I can,t seem to to get the hubby around this time as it cost quite abit last year, but we did have a blast but I miss it so much and I can,t wait to go back at some point.

Thanks for the welcome backs everyone. :)

We are actually now thinking about maybe going earlier in the year as it will mean Aibee is under 3 so food/tickets won't cost us.....

Hmmmm will need to weigh up the pros and cons. Jack is a HUGE MNSSHP fan so that's what the original date was chosen to include....shame we can't go next halloween but I think that's wishful thinking!

Welcome back! I like the sound of your plans already. We have a 2 yr old and a 5 wk old so can't wait to get back to the World with them! We were thinking of Halloween this year but after much deliberation we are looking at May 2016. The boys will be 4 years 3 months and 2 years 3 months. Seems like a very long way off but it doesn't feel like long ago since I had DS1 and hes now two so the next two years are bound to fly by! In the meantime we can plan to our hearts content ;) It really is such a different experience when you bring your child :) Would love to go back this year as DS1 really knows the characers now, if I've seen Frozen once I've seen it 100 times lol! But its not financially feasible, life getting in the way of holidays!!

Huge congrats on #2!!! It'll be so exciting taking them both!

Hope it's going well.

Jack and I have been talking a bit today. And I priced up flights for us etc. Wondering now if we're better to go next year before she's 2 to save the extra air fare etc but seems a bit short notice! We're also toying with the idea of staying back at the Boardwalk. So many decisions......I guess waiting to see what the April offers are might swing it for us. As we actually quite liked SSR when we alled around last trip and if the 30% off and free DDP crops up we could well be convinced.

Shame we're not the man from our town who just won £108m......we'd be out there next week buying a house at Golden Oak!!

Congrats on the arrival of number two. This time last year we were both excited for our May trip.

Fingers crossed a good offer comes out then. Whenever you go, it will be magical as your first trip as a family :-) We were talking about how we would spend it and Golden Oak was first on the list!
