fyi... NJ/NY area weddings are a bit more "formal", that's probably why the above comment. Ours was very formal, with tuxedos and gowns, etc. But, we've been to weddings in other parts of the country that have looked just like your photos - a big fun party! Different strokes for different folks! Most important thing is to do it how YOU want it!

Hey everyone!!! I missed y'all!!! We actually got back today. Thank you all so much for keeping this alive, I will respond to all of your comments later. Just wanted to let you know we're back and we had a great time, I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Speaking of our wedding...Today is our one year anniversary!! Darren's at work right now I have to go run some errands before he gets home.

Yeah I understand. It's very normal around here though! Especially in the heat, it's a hassle trying to get all dressed up fancy. It was perfect for us, we're simple laid back people

A few pictures from last night:

Darren got me calla lillies because that was my wedding flower. That was so thoughtful of him! They are gorgeous.

He also got a dozen roses.

I had to put the topper back on because it's so cute!

It was gross as we expected! Although we didn't expect it to taste like marker. Someone wrote on the top of the box with permanent marker and it somehow seeped into the cake. Yuck. We both took a bite (from the bottom) and that was it!

Still working on beach pictures (and videos!! ) so bear with me. I still have to get the pictures from my SIL's camera too. Until then, here's a preview for ya:

Awwwww....that was so sweet of him to buy you flowers. I'm expecting our anniversary layer (oops typo) to be gross too, but I think I am going to get a cake from our same baker for our anniversary even though it is 7 months away. Beach looks very pretty though.

Awww, Happy 1st Anniversary!!! Sorry I missed it yesterday. Our cake wasn't so wonderful tasting either but it was fun to pull it out of the freezer and get to cut into it one more time. Can't wait for more beach pictures. That one makes me want to dive right in!!

My DH is very easy going - but when we took out the top of our wedding cake a year later, he looked at me in horror and said, "You weren't expecting me to EAT that, were you???" It was SO FUNNY to see his expression! (that was 21 years ago!!! )

So sweet with the calla lilies! I am curious about the taste of our cake too. The reception place said they would take care of the freeze dry wrap with the cake, but I'm pretty sure that didn't happen! I am looking forward to having it out of the freezer! We will be in Disney for the day of our anniversary, so we'll celebrate at home a little early. Did you do any "paper" gifts?
