The Darlings Caved Already! A Sept. '12 PTR -- Sept. 26 - TR link posted!

Glad to hear you got the party! :thumbsup2 I'm sure it's not the first time the little cutie pie Phantom has had all intentions of joining her parents, but has regrettably fallen ill and couldn't make it. Poor dear. Maybe one day. ;)

Also, yay for having your trip paid in full!!! :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:  :woohoo: party:
You know, I felt so guilty about adding a Phantom, but you're right, it's probably not the first time so I feel a little better.

I told Kim the story and she said Phantom's nickname should be Fanny ^_^ Just in case the CM asks you at checkin, you can tell them that Fanny is back in the room sick with Nana
Fanny. Rofl :rotfl2:

Hello everyone, happy Thursday!

I hope everyone is having a great week and looking forward to the weekend!

I had an interesting start to my week. My dad was very sick on Sunday, extremely nauseous and his heart was racing. My mother got him to the emergency room and they found out his pulse was 158! They thought he was taking a heart attack. He had to spend two days in the ER while they brought his pulse and pressure back down. The cardiologist thinks it wasn't a heart attack, but rather a violent stomach virus that caused his heart to race. Scary! He's been home since Tuesday and with my mom's wonderful cooking and his own bed, he's doing so much better, almost back to normal (although not without a little extra worry). Hug the ones you love, people!

In other news...

Anyone excited for tomorrow?

london-2012-logo.jpg

I love watching the Olympics! I like the winter games more, (Canadians tend to do better at winter sports, :lmao:) but I still enjoy the summer games. I especially love the equestrian! I've got the whole thing set up on my PVR.

On the Disney front...

554914_10150980148362989_2124825287_n.jpg

Only 52 days to go! :yay:

I'm starting to think about getting down to business as far as my to-do list is concerned. Here's what I've got on my list:

- Order new contact lenses. (Check!)
- Find measurements of lockers at the parks & then find a tripod that will fit in them.
- Buy new sandals. (** Must do soon! **)
- Pay off trip. (Check!)
- Hair Stuff
- Finalize basic itinerary
- Purchase necessary toiletries (Deodorant - check!)
-Book the Wishes dessert party. (Check!)
- Finish in-park Must Do lists

I'm not doing too bad here. The sandals are worrying me, stores all put their summer clothes away so early for their fall things. Johnny wants a new pair of Crocs too. (He admits they're vile, and only buys black or brown, but he has wide, very flat feet and they're the only shoes he's ever found comfortable for a lot of walking! :rotfl2: )

In park planning news...

With the new plans for the dessert party, my first two days are switched around a little, but the rest of the week remains. Let's get to that, shall we?

Day 3

Tuesday, September 18

Today will be a Disney's Hollywood Studios day!

297647_10150326040282989_1126575511_n.jpg

Due to the change with the fireworks party, we won't be doing DHS Monday night, but I'm hoping to do a bit Sunday night. At this point, I'm going to continue on assuming all the small, less important rides are out of the way.

Picture this -- (Click here and listen while you read.)

It's morning. Early.
Hollywood studios turnstiles.
The CMs are milling about, anxious. Ready to start their day.
A stray tumbleweed rolls by.
(Ok scratch that last.)
A palm tree sways.
Everyone around you is lacing up their running shoes. Taking small children firmly by the hand. Assigning jobs to family members and gathering park tickets.
They're preparing for the WDW Olympic event -- The Toy Story Mania Dash.
You look up. Sweat is pouring already in the Florida heat. The CMs are at the turnstiles. They're letting people in.
As the crowd pours in, pounding off in the same direction, running for a TSM fastpass, it's your turn. You get in and where do you go?

218141_10150166471832989_6536331_n.jpg

Rock N' Roller Coaster! Where you proceed to ride three to four times in a row while the rest of the crowd is fighting for a TSM fastpass. :rotfl2:

After riding my favourite coaster a few times, Johnny might want to try ToT (which I won't ever, ever, ever go on again. I might go through the beautiful queue though. The one time I did I was too terrified of the ride to appreciate the scenery!)

223523_10150166471702989_1561382_n.jpg

Now that everyone else in the park has their TSM fastpass, they'll be heading in my direction for ToT and RnR. I'll swap, and head across to Pixar to get a couple of TSM fps.

216459_10150166471967989_7056352_n.jpg

Some of you might be thinking I'm crazy, and although I'd admit to it most of the time, we've done this plan in September before and it works for us. We get a later fp return time (usually somewhere in the 1-2:00 range) but that's fine by us!

So, the big thrills out of the way and some FPs in hand, what next?

Depends on what we've already got done, but I'm going to go with some shows.

We'll have to stop for some cupcak... I mean, er, lunch!

Hopefully we get everything done at DHS that we want before dinner!

at 4:15 we will be meeting up with Amy (eeyore04) and her family for dinner at 50's Prime Time!

Up next; what will we do with this wide open evening?

Before I leave I have a quick question. I'm dealing with some Disney hate... specifically a best friend who's not acting like it, she's unhappy that I'm going to Disney because she wants me to go visit her instead (she lives 3 provinces away). She can not be happy for me.

Also certain other family members who keep saying "Why would you go back there again? You should come to Cuba with us. We drink all the time, you'll love it." (Uhm, Johnny and I don't drink at all...)

Do you get the Disney Hate? How do you deal with it?

Great update, I love your description of rope drop! We always head for RnR and ToT first too. I get the Disney hate...no one understands why I keep going back. Some people just don't get it.

YES! I am so excited for tomorrow too! I love both the summer and winter games (although Olympic Hockey can't be beat!) I'll have to set my PVR tonight, and cancel all the series I have taping (well, MOST)

at 4:15 we will be meeting up with Amy (eeyore04) and her family for dinner at 50's Prime Time!

For some chicken,

omg I cannot WAIT to have fried chicken there. I'm like drooooooooolllling just looking at it!

I have dealt with it but not to that extent. You know how I feel, but I just want to say that it's your life to live and you shouldn't let her feelings about you going on vacation deter you from being happy and public about it. You should have had your countdown public since 130 + days ago. Maybe she'll eventually get the hint that you get what you give, and realize that if she wants you to make her more of a priority in your life, she better start doing it first because you've gone above and beyond to keep your friendship with her.

I hope your father is feeling better soon!!!

:lmao: Okay, I loved your soundtrack for the TSM dash!!! Absolutely perfect! :thumbsup2

I think your plans sound great! Definitely a fantastic DHS day!

First off, the music accompaniment for that PTR was priceless! I was practically :rotfl2: while reading. Awesome choice :thumbsup2

I like your plan of not getting in the craziness that is the TSM 'mad dash'. Unfortunately for us, we will likely be lacing up our shoes with the rest of them ...well, in our case, tightening the velcro :lmao:

As for the Disney Haters...my brother is one of them :sad2: And most of my soon to be in-laws are too. Well, okay, maybe not Disney Haters per-se, but they just don't understand why we are choosing to go there for our honeymoon instead of somewhere new, like across the pond to the UK. My brother though, is a Disney Hater. When it comes to people like that my philosophy is that they just don't understand/get it. For me, it's the atmosphere in WDW that I love so much. Don't get me wrong, I love the rides, the food, the characters, and the resorts, but for me it's a feeling. There's something about being on Main St. USA, standing in front of the castle, smelling the Main Street Confectionary, seeing the CM's with the ballons in the corner of your eye, holding hands with your partner (or parents, or kids) that just makes you all warm and fuzzy - well, makes me warm and fuzzy. It's the Disney Feeling, I call it. That's what makes me love it so much, and keeps me coming back. It's the atmosphere, the feeling that you really are in the happiest place on earth and nothing else matters in the moment. I LOVE IT! :cloud9:  SO, those Disney Haters, they just don't get it!

I don't think you're crazy at all....I love going to RNRC first, before all the crowds get there. It's so much fun riding that attraction back to back...to back. :rotfl2:

Ugh, I think all Disney fans have Disney haters. It's the curse of loving the magic...:rotfl: My in-laws cannot fathom Alex's and I's love of WDW at all. They get really irritated when we say we are going back. They are under the belief that the parks are for kids only. :sad2: And oh man, the grief we got when we told people we were doing a Disney cruise for our honeymoon. There were several "Hope you like being around a bunch of kids!" and "Aren't you a little old for Disney?" "Can you even drink on that?" (Which, like you, isn't really relevent for us.)

It gets really frustrating at times, but in the end, it makes Alex and I happy and that's all that matters. Anytime you catch grief from friends/family, just remember that it's about doing what you and Johnny like, ultimately. No point in spending time and effort doing things you don't like, when you know there's a vacation spot that you both enjoy. :confused3

:lmao: Ok - that was the perfect update. I loved the music. :rotfl: You have me smiling ear to ear.

I agree that going over to TSM first thing in the morning is annoying. I would much rather go to RnR.

I did not realize you don't like Tot. What happened? I have to admit that ToT unnerves me a bit, but the last 3 or 4 or 5 times I've ridden it, it has been very tame. I do understand the whole "too nervous to take pictures" thing.

Yeah for a DISmeet! I am sure you will have a blast.

Love the empty park in the first picture.

Disney hate? I just ignore it. Fools! All of them! :rolleyes1

Great update, I love your description of rope drop! We always head for RnR and ToT first too. I get the Disney hate...no one understands why I keep going back. Some people just don't get it.
Disney hate is the worst I think. I mean, hate is bad but why would you hate me for going to Disney!? It's not like I'm trying to force anyone else to go, and people just can't be happy for me. :confused3

I will definitely just live my life and try not to let it bother me, but I just want to be left alone to love my Disney, you know? You don't have to love it yourself, and you don't even have to be happy for me (although that's what a real friend would do...) but just don't be sad or angry. Ugh!

Thanks :goodvibes My dad is doing much much better, he caught a bad cold (I guess it goes with spending two nights in an emergency room!) but other than that he's pretty much back to normal!
I love the Good The Bad and The Ugly music. I had it as my ringtone forever. :rotfl:

You are so right, the Disney Feeling is what I go for too. I know Disney might not be for everyone, but I don't try to force it on anyone and yet they still can't be happy. Oh well! I love it, Johnny loves it and that's all that matters.

Exactly! If it makes you (or us!) happy, then that's all that matters, right? Of course it's frustrating to deal with, but I'm just brushing it off as mostly jealousy.

:lmao: Ok - that was the perfect update. I loved the music. :rotfl: You have me smiling ear to ear.

I love that theme. Quick background story: My dad once watched a Clint Eastwood movie marathon while he had a cold. It was when I still lived at home and I had to endure that theme song every commercial break and at the beginning and end of most movies. Since then, that theme is a bit of an inside joke with my dad and I, and I even made it my ringtone on every phone for the past 5 years or so (until I found the Steamboat Willie music!)

I'm working on ignoring the Disney hate, but I just can't understand why on Earth they can't just ignore me back! Why strive to go out of your way to be unhappy for me going to Disney? :sad1: Doesn't feel good coming from someone who was supposed to be my best friend.

Also, nothing particular happened on ToT, I only rode it once but I seriously hated it. I'm a control freak and a claustrophobe -- I hate small spaces, especially elevators. So an elevator that drops randomly (i.e. my control freak can't plan for it) is about my worst nightmare.

I like your plan for DHS. Going straight to RNR and TOT sounds tempting I would just be worried about not getting to TSM before FP runs out! Although if it was up to me I think I would spend my whole vacation riding TOT.

That rootbeer float looks very tempting. I might have to try one in two weeks!

As for dealing with the hate I don't really have any advice. I usually just smile and nod whenever we get a comment but it does hurt.

That's really all you can do. If she were a true friend she should at least realize how much Disney means to you; and know that Disney in no way replaces her as a friend. I dunno :confused3 Some people you'll just never be able to get through to.

In any case, I'll ALWAYS be here to share the Disney obsession and squash the Disney hate. :wizard::cheer2:

Two weeks, you lucky girl! :thumbsup2 Less now I guess!
I do worry about not getting a TSM fp, but it's not busy enough in September, we've never had a problem before so I should be fine.

True dat, and I guess we were meant to be sounding boards for each other, eh?

Hello again, and a happy Wednesday to you all!

I hope your week is going well. I'm on pins and needles! I applied for work at a few places and I'm waiting anxiously for a call. Too bad the studio photography thing didn't work out with my current/last job because now I'm stuck applying at grocery stores and dollar stores. Ahh well. It's a job, right? Hopefully I'll get something to hold me over until I can get back into school for my teacher's degree. Having just a Bachelor of Arts really sucks!

In much happier news (read: Why I needed to post about Disney, to actually make me smile this week) ...

disney.jpg

Hooray! Only 46 sleeps to go! We are really, REALLY getting there! I mean, it's August! I can officially say that we are going to Disney next month!

I haven't checked anything new off my to-do list... and it's getting longer! I've started to add such things as "pack" and "paint nails", but of course I've got about 44 days until I can do any of that. I did stop in the mall and have a peek at sandals. There's a really interesting squishy pair I think I might try. First a job, then a paycheck, then sandals. I've also added "Finish honeymoon scrapbook" to the list. An odd to-do item, but I'm still working on the scrapbook from my 2010 honeymoon, and I've got a 2011 trip to work on too! I want to finish one trip book before I take another trip! :rotfl:

Anyhow, on with the day-to-day plans, shall we?

Day 3, part 2.
Tuesday, September 18, evening.

There could be two possible courses of action for this night, and it will depend on what we do on our arrival night.

IF:

we arrive early Sunday, head to DHS and get all the small rides done,

THEN:

This evening will be a MK evening!

Plan of attack:
Lots of photopass pictures:

See a parade:

And a castle show:

Meet some old friends:

Watch Wishes...

*I should note, this might actually be the Christmas party Wishes, it's from my 2010 trip. lol!

From BTMRR!

And finally, close the park!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Alternately,

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

IF:

On our arrival day we manage to get to MK and get a few things done

THEN:

We will be staying at DHS this evening to get the small rides done (and since this post was done already, I'm going to skip through quickly!)

The plan of attack here will basically be to complete DHS entirely!

So again, it will all depend on how the beginning of the week goes!

After today, it will be a bit better to plan it out so stay tuned for day 4!

Your pictures are awesome!!! I shouldn't be surprised though :lmao:

Those sounds like some awesome plans to me! :thumbsup2 46 days will go by in no time! :cool1:

Thank you! :goodvibes
It's already going by so fast, 46 days will be up in no time at all I'm sure!

Awesome plan!

loving looking at your pictures (again)
:clown:
Thanks!

Love all the pics!!

I love your WDW pics, they are all awesome!!

Thanks to you both!

That's so cool! Do you see that when you go into my reservations? I love it.

Wonderful plans. Cute pictures. I actually remember a lot of them.

Bummer about the photography thing not working out. I hope you are able to get a job soon. Fingers crossed.

Are you able to substitute teach? I know here in the US you just need any bachelors degree to sub.

Yup, that's the image in my reservations! It gives me butterflies every time I see it.

Thanks, it's unfortunate but not unexpected. My boss is not the most motivated individual so even though he has the equipment and probably a market for it, he isn't a go-getter. I am having some trouble letting go, I really liked my job there and the people I worked with, but I do have an interview Monday morning for a Monday to Friday, 9-5 spot in a store in the mall. Not too bad pay either so it will be nice to have a better schedule than I ever did before!

Are you able to substitute teach? I know here in the US you just need any bachelors degree to sub.
Wowwwww really?? You can sub with a BA in the US? Lucky. I have to have my BEd before I can even start subbing here. Also teachers are being laid off all over the place and reverting back to subs, so even if I do get through school, getting a job won't be easy. Ahh well, it's the bad job situation in Cape Breton. This is why all of my high school friends moved out west!
