OMG, Cassey, you must be so excited!

I'm working. Got a few things to do that I don't wanna, but I'll get to them early and then probably run over to the furniture to order our stuff (pre-tax-free day, but they'll put it in on tax-free day).

Hope everyone has a great day. Supposed to be HOT here!

Stay cool to those in the heat zone. Yesterday was yuck, but today is looking like it will shape up. Already topping off the water in the pool.

Debating on working out- spent all of yesterday walking and lifting. New office furniture is in the garage!!

Need to do a quick clean up of my office.

Hi Ladies,

I am back home. As some of you know, my Mom passed away last Tuesday evening, July 31. We got the call while at Disney with my brother and his family. We left for Georgia on 8/1 and got back yesterday afternoon.

It was a long an emotional weekend, don’t think I have anything left in my tear ducts. After the funeral Saturday morning, we headed back to my sister Wendy's house. Our party included all five of Dad’s sisters, Mom’s two sisters and their husbands and a cousin. We stayed through three meals, numerous bottles of booze, my sweet DH Joe played guitar and we all sang, LOUDLY, for over two hours. We sang every song we used to sing on family road trips and the soundtrack to The Sound of Music – twice – with my brothers making futile attempts at the high notes. We of course acted it all out, have it on video, but everyone wants to keep their jobs so there is no posting on Facebook, hahaha. Later, we broke out the tunes and made a dance floor and danced and danced. My sister Noelle and brother Chris did the best improv dance, we were all laughing so hard…I could barely breathe and my side hurt for two days! We ended the party about 8 pm, right after a huge thunderstorm and a double rainbow appeared as we were all saying our goodbyes in the driveway. We knew Mom was happy then – we always get insanely crazy when all six of us get together. We bring out the best in each other and for that I will always be truly grateful. It was the perfect send off for Mom, she soo loved it when we were all together and got silly.

On Sunday, us six kids and spouses got together for pool time and a cookout at brother Matt’s house. Dad was too tired but we think he just needed some time to decompress. It was truly a sad but joyful weekend.

I find comfort in kmowing Mom is no longer in pain, is at peace and in the Lord’s House. I think that’s what is getting us all through this...one day at a time.

Becky

Becky, I am glad you were able to send your mom off in a way that would make her smile. and prayers for your family.

Jennifer, I am :dance3::dance3::dance3:. It's going to be a looooong night tonight.

Reddy, I will definately give Mickey a hug for you! OH and the kids birthdays just make us feel older as we think of where all the time has gone.

woohoo!! so much fun Cassey!! this time we are taking a red eye so there wont be much sleep anyhow :) Have a blast!

Becky, I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. How wonderful you were all together to enjoy special memories.
