Lisa--she has already chosen where she wants to go. And she has chosen a "dream" school, but, she is checking out two other schools just in case ;) It takes her a long time to adjust to change so we want to her to make her decision relatively soon. Then she enjoy her "senior year" without worrying about where she'll go to college.

that's a good idea, always smart to have a back up!

Hoping the college she picks is a great match for her!

First day of school, kiddos gone.
Finished grocery shopping and putting items away.
Bathroom deep clean.
Dust and vacuum from dog hair [this a many times a day event]
Finish getting silk off fresh corn to grill.
Get bread ready for grilling.
Get chicken ready for grilling.
Figure out why dogs are growling at each other today, guess they thought I would miss the kiddos fighting? :confused3
Clean kitchen floor after silking corn. That stuff gets everywhere. LOL
Watch DVR'd shows if time before kiddos come home.

Happy Wednesday!!

Annie, You cleaned the toliets? You must be bored! LOL

Cheryl ~ I hope DD enjoys this next tour.. We are anxiously awaiting our acceptance letter.... they are supposed to mail this week from her top choice...but with the way things have been and the mail around here lately... it could be whenever...

Reddy ~ have a safe trip and enjoy!!!

Lisa ~ glad to have you back online!

Today:
I have done a ton already.. DD had to work at 5:45am so we were up at 5am.. she worked til 8:20 and classes start at 8:40... She said she had a great day at work.. (she only works 2 days a week because all the atheletic kids split their hours so they all would have checks still coming in....)

Need to cut the 17 states, state names and capitals out for the 50 state book for DS10.
scrapbook
enjoy peace
catch up on 2 pretty little liars episodes during lunch
scrapbook

pick up DS10 from school
await DS15's call where he is to drop off his water bottle for practice (DD has her college class today so no guarantee she can run home before practice and it is still way to hot to let stuff stay in the vehicles)
homework duty
prep dinner
get to XC parent meeting (need to know number of seniors because we have to do senior night by the end of August because we only have 1 home meet this year that is not a big event)....
figure out senior goodie bags... (thinking a t-shirt, balloons, candy)...
list for tomorrow.. go over and see if I can get a discount at the local sports store for the senior gifts... (probably have to pay for this out of pocket because I'm sure there is NO budget for it)..
crush, need to call school about season passes.. I am not paying to get in the game tomrrow at 5/a person when I already paid the school almost 200 for a season pass....

Ok Nancy - my life is so boring and slow compared to yours. I needed to take a deep breath after the first few items.

AWM - did you find it tough sending the kids off to school today? Our local students begin in 2 weeks - before Labor Day.

Cheryl - having a back-up is an excellent idea. We made sure the girls did too - in fact, one of them transferred to her "safe" college after her first year.

Getting the dumpster stuff into it today after a bunch of rainy days here. Need to get packing for my cruise - now less than 3 weeks away, but I will be back to teaching on a long term basis, so all the stuff I won't be wearing, can get packed up.

Have a great day everyone. :thumbsup2

Hope the kiddos have a great first day, Ann! Morgan starts 2 weeks from today.

We went to the zoo yesterday, had a fun time. I'm working today, blah.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon everyone!

Nan, hope your DD gets her first choice for college, the waiting to hear is so hard.

Cheryl, hope your DD enjoyed her college visit, it's funny how they make up their minds about where they are going so quickly but keep looking to make sure. DS ended up at the first school we looked at.

Just returned from shopping with my kiddos for back to school for DD and off to college for DS...why are boys so clueless about what they need everyday? And why does it take 20 minutes to pick out deodorant? 3 hours and we still aren't finished!!!! He is trying to find winter boots and coat, hat and gloves in the middle of August, my sanity is being threatened at every turn with him. You would think he is not going to come home or that they don't have stores in Vermont.

Still have to pay some bills and fix dinner.

Cassey

Evening all

been to Maine and back. major headache going on....

trying to finish the redo of the scrap area and not getting far, love the layout and most things are falling right into place but there is 1 piece of furniture that hide before now sticks out and it's BUGGING me.

Casey as for stores in VT it definately depends where. UVM he's all set some of the smaller ones well.....

Hope you've all had a great day.
Ann hoping the boys had a great day and you survived. Mine don't head back till after labor day.

Nancy, fingers crossed on the acceptance letter.
Anne, how nice of the dogs to bicker for you. lol
Safe travels, Reddy.
Jennifer, did you go to Roger Williams?

My day started early, woke at 4:00 am:confused3
Breakfast meeting
Conference start by 8:00 am
Retirement luncheon
Give presentation
Out for dinner - ate at the Irish Pub in town. Not as good as the Dubliner in DC but fair, and the company was good.
Load up on drugs, feel like I might be sick.
Pack to leave in the am for home.:yay::yay:
Talk to DH, talk to MomE, return call to LindaBabe.

I had to chuckle when I read the part about stores in Vermont. Best of luck to you all.
