~The Daily Grind~ 5/26/10

Well, without asking too much, I've been trying to figure out who Blythe is and what's going on. She sounds very little and certainly well prayed over. She's on my list too, even if I don't know her.

Yeah for great grades and almost graduation! Yeah for online check in! Yeah for anniversaries and ice cream! What a busy time of year.

I feel a little tired after getting home from the game in Lincoln around 10 and catching all my good tv on the dvr before going to bed. My own fault!

Today is time to get ready for the in laws' visit this weekend.

Kids to school
Finish laundry
Kids put away laundry
Make strawberry jelly (I have to, I have 35 jars out of the pantry and I have to reclaim my kitchen!)
Finish Mickey art and order it
Pick up Mickey art at Costco
Hang it up in the bathroom (will share pictures!)
DD13 to physical therapy
Dinner - not sure yet, maybe something on the grill, sure is hot enough for it

She is SIOH's niece- she was born a week or 2 ago very prematurely and is trying to make it home from the hospital.

Jennifer- Mike won but both of the other had gotten to 48% weight loss as well as he got to just under 50%. Koli won the other prize in getting to 52% weight loss.

Pam-0 I hope things are looking up for you and your son. I know that everything going on is tough and we are with you 1000%.

Lisa- still praying for your mom and her husband- I am sure it is a tough time

Today:
funeral bulliten ready
funeral
prayer time
get stuff packed for Scrapbook Expo
work on resort swap

Rebecca

Speaking of ice cream, who won The Biggest Loser?

Mike did win. He looked great. I am not a fan of Koli. I really wanted someone else to win the at home prize. I WAS a fan and then he just got way to......
ummmmm..... i don't know. just not the best i thought. i really wanted Daris to win, but was happy with anyone of the last three.
Sad that it's over. I thought most of the voted off ones looked great!

And of course i was flipping back and forth with Glee!

Me too, but the commercials were on at the same times!

I'm glad Mike won, but I really wanted Daris to win too.

DD was supposed to go riding after school but we shall see how wet it gets.
Dinner - ??? Chicken something.

Everyone have a great day!

Late to the party today -

Thrilled to hear all the great news about our brilliant students here - what a bunch of smaht folks!

DB - so jealous...! Wish I were going along - but have to wait a few more months. D is looking forward to meeting up with you in a day or so!

Happy #15, Jen - such a child bride! Savor each spoonful of ice cream!

Rebecca - thanks for the good wishes - been thinking lots about you lately...how's Dad?

Spent the morning at DS's Memorial Day assembly. He and I were looking forward to it... But, he (again this year) had a hugely tough time. Hands over ears, hunched over on the floor, head down, for more than an hour while 500+ other K-5th grade students were packed around him on the gym floor like sardines, making lots of noise...the packed gym bleachers surrounding the kids were hundreds of parents, grands, infants, etc. with no AC, no where to escape. My heart was breaking. He held it together, managed to stand and sing "America" when it was his grade's turn. But, sheesh! Sitting there, I had the revelation that he needs to simply get out - he needs to be in a school where they don't subject special needs kids to that type of environment and where they REALLY understand their limits and needs. At the end, I managed to give him a quick hug before running out and breaking down. His aide and his teacher were standing next to him and said to me "Didn't he do great? He even sang!" HELLO?????? ARE THEY KIDDING? I just glared and simply said quietly to them, "I'm never going to subject him to anything like this again."

Putting more private school apps in today's mail.

Okay, thanks. Now I feel all caught up! Praying for healthy trip home soon!

Ever feel like you have ADD? Too many things started and nothing's getting finished. Bleg! Wish I was leaving for Disney!! :rotfl:

Sounds like you need a  Pam. I'll pray that you find the right school for your DS.

Can't wait to meet D Thursday! :woohoo:

(((((HUGS))))) Pam that is so sad they expect him to handle that. Yep I agree time to find the right school and then let me kick those aides in the hiney for you.

DB wish I was headed although right now alaska sounds nice I'm DONE with this heat.
Jennifer Happy ANNI have a nice big ice cream and enjoy every bite.
Rebecca still thinking about your dad.

Well I'm awaiting an email from L's spec ed teacher. Tom got a phone call ( my cell is amoung the missing at the momment) and he's burnt out (ya think) they have like 4 projects in the last 3 weeks of school plus all the regular stuff. she said something about pulling back abunch of work and just finishing the projects. thank god this woman is smart and I HATE the thought that we are loosing her. I'm hopeful that his next year Spec ed teacher will see the same types of behavior. His lab teacher will be the spec ed for next year so he at least is already familar with him and his learning styles.

Off to crash on the couch with some WW ice cream and sweet tea.

:hug: Oh Pam. Your little guy, I will send Pixie Dust that you find the right fit that sees him to his huge potential.

Happy Anni Jennifer!

 Pam.. that has to be hard... and harder on him.... I think putting him in a private school or a school with those much more EDUCATED to handle his needs and know his limits will be truely beneficial.. I would have probably ripped into both the aid and teacher for being so insensitive and CLUELESS!! You have much more will-power than I..and for that I commend you!!!! You are such a great mom!!!!

Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes. I'm going to enjoy every spoonful of the sundae!

Pam, Wish I could drive over and give you a real one in person. Speaking of which, it's been far too long since I've seen you and yours! We need a Gabfest 2010!

Me too. I could use it! I hate being the "drama mama" on here - can't wait until I'm the Incredible's Violet Parr..."Nothing to report..."- type!!!

Speaking of which, it's been far too long since I've seen you and yours! We need a Gabfest 2010!

Hey, RAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN! :rotfl2: Set that up, will 'ya? The kids would love playing together again - so would the moms! :cloud9:

i would sooooooo love gabfest 2010! i really enjoyed the last one!

DB, yippee on leaving for WDW tomorrow!!!!! What fun y'all will have and I'm so jealous. I wanna go too!!!!!

Happy Anniversary Jenn!!!! My 21st anniversary is tomorrow!:goodvibes

Pam, you are so strong. I don't know how you managed to hold it together. I had tears in my eyes just reading about your DS at the assembly. Big  to you both. I hope you find a school that's the right fit for him.

Is it hot in here or is it just me?
chillout.gif

It's over 90 here...and no AC! I'm getting ready to take a cool bath... and for some reason I want some ice cream :rotfl2:

Pam- for you and DS. :wizard: for a great new school situation. Hard to believe how clueless some people are!

PD for everyone dealing with family issues. It's never easy, but we are sending strength...

Hugs to you Pam. I also admire your strength and determination. May you find the school of your dreams. :wizard:

I wanna be going to Disney!

Just holding on for cruise in January.

Wow! What a day.. I have crap coming out my ears from cleaned out school desks and lockers... they just store stuff I tell ya... RECYCLE!!!!

Than I just got into my emails to find my 3 high schoolers schedules for NEXT year already! Poor DD, may never see the light of day.. Her schedule is PACKED w/ the advance courses!!! She'll cost me! But it looks like DS14 (Freshman) will be next to nothing in rental! I'm gonna try to see and estimate costs tonight based on DD's rental a year ago! (another good thing DsS15 & DS14 are NOT in the same geometry class.. DS14 was able to pass Algebra I as an 8th grader so he can move onto geometry as a freshman)
