~The Daily Grind~ 5/24/10

 PBF!!!

Think positive.... much hugs to DS... I'm sure that testing was very draining on him!!
We are here for you when you need anything!!!

Well, it's official, I'll be going on the evening shift sometime in August...

Going to celebrate tonight!!

PBF- sorry for the stressful day!

Yes there is!! Thanks again for all you guys! :grouphug:

Debbie that is so wonderful. have an extra drink for me! I know you'll be so much happier and less stressed

Pam Hang ing there and vent away. I remember those days this past fall. I'm surprised you'll even talk nest week that's fast we wait weeks before we hear anything.

Congrats Debbie!!!!!! That is great news!!!
Now, with celebrating.. don't do anything the rest of us girls would do!!!! :)

Dusting Baby Blythe again, just for good measure.

WAHOO Deb! What's taking her so long to leave for pete's sake?? YOU"re ready to move now!!!!

Things did NOT go well in Indiana today. Old lady went ballistic, tried to climb out the window. Tried to breakout the door. Yelled blue murder. kicked a nurse. tried to deck the charge nurse. They called for back up. My dh, the SARGE, is with her tonight. My goal is to do whatever it takes to get my sister in law to Florida and on her Disney cruise a week from Friday!

Now, where is that wine y'all were talking about??

oh linda hang in there. this could be a long road and hopefully she will settle down in a few days. Prayers that it is a short road. Nana would be the same way. she'd be kicking and screaming the whole time. Hopefully DH calms her down. I don't know about out there but here they will medicate them because that behavior can't be tolerated.

Hugs for the PBF family:hug:
i'm thinking of all of you.

Deb- I'm thrilled for you!!!! you must be sooo excited. good for you for sticking it out.

Linda- so sorry. hang in there.

just checking in and reading the updates on the afternoon/evening!

:grouphug: for you Linda!

As for me, I'd love to slide right into her old position and schedule, but they don't do it that way in my department. They called in the casual people to work her hours on the current schedules. I told him (big boss) yesterday, better sooner than later for me, but it's looking like August due to vaca's and being made short staffed on dayshift if I move before that...

But it's coming :woohoo: I feel like a weight has been lifted! :teeth:

Oh, my. Linda - how stressful! The old girl still has spunk and strength, huh? But - wow! Layer upon layer of stuff you're dealing with - hugs! (Need any Greek food???!!!)

Deb - totally awesome! Hope the time between now and the new shift flies by! Sounds like the answer to your prayer!

Christy - yep, a week to hear back with test results is pretty unheard of for us too. Usually, it is a month or so if we're lucky. But, we're all under the gun to get stuff wrapped up (or not and then head to court or the equivalent) by the end of the school year, since we have no idea where DS *should* go to school in Sept. But, especially after yesterday, it looks a LOT less likely that it will be the local public middle school. :sad1: It was a tough night here for DH and me...and the DDs who are also in the loop and trying to help as much as they can.

:cheer2: Debbie!!!! That's great news. Even if you have to wait until August, at least you know it's gonna happen!!!!:cheer2:

:grouphug:PBF and Linda:grouphug: Hang in there. :lovestruc ya!

Pam hang in there. I have and email into L's teacher to find out what school her DH is at that we were talking about at CKC. Might be a help might not.

Thanks, Christy!

I just put two private school applications in the mail and will send out two more tomorrow. These are schools that DSs neuropsychologist had suggested as the top choices that he'd recommend. Sigh. I can't even imagine the battle the district is going to put up - this is gonna get ugly - ok, uglier! - fast.

You guys are the best. TB - get those polka dotted clown pants ready that you wore when you had to go visit our mayor, practically stand on his desk and demand that the district send your DS to the right school...we're gonna need them!

Oh my I think I'd like to see TB in those pants standing on the mayors desk!! The metal picture is giving me giggling fits.

Hang in there and hopefully it wont be a HUGE battle. Let's think positive and since they know that you will call the state back in that they will just give up:lmao::rotfl2: we can hope any way.

Too late for my Monday to do list but I wanted to comment on a few things.

PD for Blythe, her parents and family.

Stayed up WAY too late watching Lost last night, and I'm still lost lol. Still trying to wrap my brain around it.

No kidding, between watching and reading the preview on televisionwithoutpity, I am still lost, and for the record, I am not pleased how it ended, I still have many questions.

I'm home from work today with DS6...he's sick. Poor thing, I almost took him to school thinking it was just sinus drainage, but I'm so glad I didn't. We're camping on the couch today. He hasn't missed any school all year, and now he gets sick with 4 more days. Isn't that the way it goes?

Steph

Is DS feeling better?

Just back from DS's reading comprehension evaluation. Took hours - he's wiped out, but I just got to sit and read (and worry) during that time. No headline yet until she runs the scores, but she is very direct, a forthright "no-nonsense" expert in her field, and she seems pretty concerned about him. Sigh. We'll talk again next week and receive her official report after that.

It is probably too early to have a drink (ha!), so I'll just start doing some housework, ugh. It is a beautiful day here, but I'm just a bit too tense to do much of anything else.

It's noon somewhere, go for it!

Things did NOT go well in Indiana today. Old lady went ballistic, tried to climb out the window. Tried to breakout the door. Yelled blue murder. kicked a nurse. tried to deck the charge nurse. MomE is hitting the wine too. Tonight she got a call that the center is refusing to feed him and she NEEDS to come down and straighten them out.

It's so difficult for previously very independent people to admit they need assistance. Hang in there, and yes, use a mask.
